Elven Encounter With A Blood Seeker
Chapter 263: Brand New Roles
Her answer threw him off balance and his heart jumped in his throat. What if she remembered what he looked like? He uneasily shifted in his seat and clutching the steering wheel tightly he questioned:
"Do you remember what he looks like?"
"No, that’s the thing, I can’t see his face in the dreams. Just his body and wings. And also this old woman who keeps telling me I have to kill someone, it’s all so confusing," the glum look in her eyes told him how lost she felt.
"Hey! Whatever it is, we will figure it out together. But I am sure it’s just your mind conjuring up visions to make up for your lost memories. So don’t overthink," he reached out and patted her hand which was resting in her lap. But inside his heart, Yurian was extremely worried about her and her mental state now.
Soon they reached the base and parked the car both of them exited it and made their way inside the grey rectangular building. It was a small space as compared to their headquarters and could lodge about 10 hunters.
The head of this base was a hunter code-named; shark. She was a few years older than Aselia and was known for her no non-sense attitude and strict policies. Aselia had met her a couple of times at occasional annual hunter gatherings.
Dressed in her white and gold hunter uniform she stood at the door to receive them. Her dark brown hair was neatly tied in a tight bun over her head. Her blue eyes held intelligence as she greeted them both by shaking hands.
"Good morning! A pleasure to have you both here, White Falcon and Black Hawk. It’s an honour to meet you in person," her last sentence was solely for Aselia.
"Good morning! And thank you for having us on such short notice," Aselia shook hands with her followed by Yurian.
"Oh! I can’t tell you how excited we are that you will be training the new hunters and sharing your extensive knowledge with us. Come let me show you people around the facility," she guided them through the waiting hall towards the training rooms.
They observed that the facility was well-lit and well-maintained. Everything was immaculately clean with shades of grey and white used for walls and furniture. Reaching the training room, Shark threw the door open and they entered.
Three hunters were training inside, one girl and two boys. Seeing them approach they instantly stopped and lined up. Shark made the introductions and everyone firmly shook hands. Aselia observed that the room was well-equipped with all the weapons and training materials. She was impressed, to say the least, and hunters appeared to be in fine shape.
Shark then led them out and showed them the rest of the facility. It had a gym, two training rooms, a swimming pool, lodges for hunters to stay in, a cafeteria, a common room, changing room and an office for the head of the facility.
"That’s one first-rate facility you are running, it’s very well-maintained," Aselia smiled as they settled down in Shark’s office.
"No doubt, I was told you run a tight ship and they weren’t joking," Yurian added as he sat beside Aselia.
"In our line of work, slacking for a mini second will determine a life and death situation. I have to train them hard to mould them into such hunters who stand a chance against vampires. And now this facility will be in your capable hands," she announced before picking up her phone and ordering coffee and biscuits for them.
"Where are you being transferred to?" Yurian inquired, knowing this facility was being handed down to him and Aselia now.
"They have set up a new base in the capital city of Druhias. I will be heading that one, they need someone to start from scratch and I already know a thing or two about doing it as I was the one who set this one up," she told them in detail about her next destination.
"Shark, you are amazing and I am sure you will do miracles over there as well," Aselia couldn’t help but compliment her.
"Thank you, and I am confident that both of you will alleviate this one to a whole new level as well."
They then discussed all the paperwork which needed to be signed and all the other minute details about the facility. Shark also handed over all the files on the 9 hunters that were currently residing here, they contained all their personal information and were vital to be kept in hard copy. Hunters didn’t trust anything online as it could easily be hacked.
The day was dedicated to the delegation of various responsibilities that accompany the management of the entire base, and to acquainting themselves with all of their subordinates.
During the lunch break, Yurian received a call that the paperwork he had submitted for Aselia to change her identity to Leia had been accepted and the new phone and sim card had been issued in her new name. It would be delivered in a few days.
Yurian informed Aselia about this and then excused himself from the ladies and went outside to make a call. He had been impatient all day long and needed to talk to Xiran about what Aselia had told him. He needed answers regarding that bond and if there was a chance that she might remember him.
He dialled Xiran’s number who instantly picked up and questioned in an urgent tone: "Is she alright?"
"Not really, that’s why I am calling," Yurian then went on to explain everything that had been happening to her.
"So kindly sever that bond so she can be free of your shackles and can spend the rest of her life without having to be in pain whenever something will happen to you. Her subconscious is still filled with you and now she is seeing you in her dreams as an angel. What if her memories return?"
Xiran was dumbfounded at the information Yurian had given him.
