Elven Encounter With A Blood Seeker
Chapter 264: Agent 93’s Proposal
Yurian’s words submerged Xiran in a dilemma. This was something he had never heard about. But then he didn’t even understand the scope of his powers or how they worked. For he had most probably inherited that from his mother’s side and she didn’t even belong to this world and he had never met anyone else from her side of the family. If only someone was there to guide him. 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮
Then there was this bond he had no clue about and the fact that it was still hurting her caused him intense pain. He wanted her to be free of everything that was linked to him. But hearing this he knew it wouldn’t be that easy.
"No one has ever reversed my powers, until recently my brother and a girl I used to have somehow gained their memories back. But I believe it was my father’s doing. He did something to them so they could remember what I made them forget. We can only hope that Aselia doesn’t remember what I have made her forget," Xiran confided in Yurian.
"So you are telling me that it’s possible to reverse your power?" Yurian angrily questioned.
"I am saying I am not even sure, I need time to figure that out. And about that bond, as far as I have searched and concluded. She needs to have a physical relationship with someone to break it between us..." Xiran’s voice broke in the end, his own words plagued him with unbearable pain.
"I see, so there is nothing you can do about it?" Yurian asked again just to be sure.
"I am afraid not," he had already done everything in his power to push her away and yet he was still living in her subconscious. The bond between them was not that easy to break.
"I have to go now, but in case she starts to remember you or if she saw your face in her dreams she will start to piece everything together because I am already sure she doesn’t buy the story we have concocted. So far she hasn’t dyed her hair, she wants to hold onto anything that makes her feel connected to her old self, her true self," Yurian confided in him.
"If she remembers me then let me know, I will just have to take her memories again. Under no circumstances she can have those memories back," Xiran told him and Yurian, although hated the idea that he messed up her head and had to agree. She would return to him as soon as she would remember him and there would be no stopping her.
"I will keep you updated in case anything will happen," Yurian spoke before ending the call and heading back inside.
Xiran was working on his new project of building that orphanage. The phone call had him rooted to his spot and made his already conflicted mind race with her thoughts to the precipice of insanity. He knew he would lose his mind if he wasn’t careful, the more he thought about her the more he wanted to be with her, and the more it gnawed his mind.
Collecting himself he went back to his work, he wanted to keep himself so busy that he wouldn’t have time to think.
"Señor! A hunter is here to meet you, he says it’s urgent," Horius informed him as Xiran studied the map of the orphanage they had designed in Mazitine’s office.
"Send him in," Xiran replied without looking up. Horius bowed and left. Soon there was a knock on the door again and Xiran permitted the knocker to enter.
"Good Evening!" a hearty voice spoke and Xiran finally glanced up to find himself looking at Agent 93’s happy face.
"How may I help you?" Xiran dryly asked, feeling irked by his presence. He wanted to be left alone.
"Ahm! So I had been thinking and concluded that I would like to offer my services to you," he sheepishly spoke and seeing Xiran’s what the fu*k expression he began to rephrase his words.
"I mean not those kinds of services, obviously. Silly me, I didn’t make myself clear," he rambled on.
"What are you trying to say? I don’t have time for nonsense," Xiran growled at him.
"Yes, sorry. Right...I just want to join your team. As a hunter I am skilled and my combat is pretty decent too. I would like to be your main bodyguard or caretaker, protector, or maybe simply a guard..." He stopped talking seeing the unbelievable expression Xiran was holding.
"And what makes you think I need any of that?" Xiran sarcastically asked, clasping his hands in front of him. His eyebrows were raised.
"You don’t, just for extra protection, or as precautionary measures, maybe a little bit for the company as well," he added quietly.
"Agent whatever the number you are. You have been sent here to protect the city and innocent people in it. Not to protect me so go and do the job you have been sent here to do and not waste my or your own precious time. Do I make myself clear?"
Xiran’s eyes were blazing right now and they wanted to bore a hole in this stupid boy.
"But..." another glare from Xiran and he didn’t say the next word.
"No buts, leave," Xiran thundered and turned his attention back to his map.
Agent 93 sighed and quietly left his office. His heart had been so burdened from the moment he learnt what Xiran did to Aselia and himself. After his girl was taken from him, Xiran and Aselia’s story was like a beacon of hope for him but now it was dwindling.
He just wanted to be there for Xiran. He was beginning to idolize him for being so brave, for standing against his father and protecting her at all costs even at the expense of losing his love. He had decided to take care of him by becoming his right-hand man and winning his trust.
He was determined that he would keep coming to him until Xiran would accept him.
