Elven Encounter With A Blood Seeker
Chapter 271: Irlana Finds A Diary
Location: Anthos (Phantom’s Secret Hideout)
Phantom was pacing his office in a fit of rage. It had been two months and still, there was no sign of the elven girl. None of his subordinates was able to locate anyone named Aselia.
The system had only one girl by that name and by seeking her out he found she was a 40 years old human woman. Aldridge had informed him that Xiran had let her go but where had he hidden her was the puzzle he was unable to solve.
And with the current situation of his troops, Phantom was in no position to attack him again. Xiran was being backed by all other three continents. He had to wait and build up his strength to attack him again. 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦
Meanwhile, he was busy attacking and occupying small towns on the outskirts of the other three continents. Sometimes his forces were successful and sometimes hunters and combined forces of the three continents were able to push them back. He hadn’t anticipated for them to combine forces against him with such unity.
Treia whom he had turned into a vampiress was on Aselia’s hunt as well. But so far she hadn’t been able to locate the girl. Fritez City had been on such a security lockdown that she had not been able to infiltrate it.
He had even used the memory serum on Irlana and threatened to torture her mother until she told him everything she had seen there. But she only knew that there were a few girls her brother had and one of them was an elf. For Xiran hadn’t shared much with her, knowing their father would extract information from her.
Phantom had believed his daughter because it was only logical. What he didn’t know was that his daughter knew and remembered far more than she had let on.
In his frustration, he punched the secret code into his desk drawer and extracted a white diary with the word ’Xiran’ embossed on it in golden colour. Opening the diary he began to read but was soon interrupted by one of the doctors who wanted to show him a new tribrid they had created.
Knowing it won’t take long he left the diary on his table and made his way out with the doctor to their lab. At that moment Irlana was headed to her father’s office, she wanted to request her father for medicines to be given to elderly elves imprisoned in this facility.
Reaching the door she knocked but there was no response. With a thudding heart, she turned the doorknob and found the door to be open. She cautiously stepped inside and began to scan his office.
Her eyes fell on the white diary on his desk with her brother’s name gleaming on it. She rushed towards the diary and flipped the pages to read. But there was a lot of information. Her father had taken away her phone, in case she would try to leak something to her brother.
She frantically began to read as much as she could before her father would arrive, learning some vital information from the diary she understood it belonged to Xiran’s mother. She then quietly slipped away from the office, leaving the diary as she had found it.
Irlana knew she had to get this information to her brother by every means. Now she knew such a diary existed which most probably contained crucial knowledge related to Xiran’s origins, she wanted to extract it for her brother.
Irlana made her way down to the lower levels where her mother and a few elderly elves were kept in a desolate state. Seeing her approach so quickly her mother got up from her bed and called her:
"Lana! Were you able to talk to him?"
"No, Mother. He is not in his office, I will try after a while," she calmly replied trying to steady her heartbeat.
"He won’t survive much longer without medicine," her mother pointed to an elderly elf who was more bones and less flesh. His breathing was uneven and he hadn’t eaten much in the last couple of days.
"I know, Mother. Have faith in me, I will get food and medicine for you people," she reassuringly smiled at her and her mother affectionately hugged her.
After a few hours, Irlana went back to her father’s office. He was sitting on his chair and that diary was gone. He lifted his head to coldly gaze at her and asked:
"What is it Irlana?"
"Father, elderly elves need medicines and food. Please, provide them with it and I agree to go on another mission for you." She knew well the kind of mission he would send her to but she had no choice.
"Really? When did my daughter become so obedient? I have a perfect mission for you, make the client happy and all of them will get food and medicine, plus no torture session. How does that sound?" his voice was ever cold and didn’t hold any trace of warmth. It chilled her to her bones.
"Good," she almost choked on her word but kept a smile plastered on her face. She knew getting out of here would provide her with an opportunity to reach out to her brother and tell him what she had learnt.
She had memorised Xiran and Rivan’s numbers by heart so whenever she would get a chance she would be able to contact them. This would be a golden opportunity.
"Go get ready, you leave tonight. Don’t disappoint me Irlana, or I will kill them all without hesitation," she simply nodded at him and left his office with mixed emotions. Happy that she will be able to reach out to her brother and may even be able to hear Rivan’s voice. Plus her people will get food and medicine.
At the same time, she knew some scumbag was about to ravage her body and she felt sick to her stomach. Keeping a small smile plastered on her face she descended the stairs, she couldn’t tell her mother or others what she had to do. She would only reassure them that they will be provided for.
