Elven Encounter With A Blood Seeker
Chapter 272: [Bonus - ]Mister Xi
Throughout the two months after the attack, Xiran made numerous changes in Fritez City. A boundary wall about 10 feet high and two feet thick was built along with checkpoints, it surrounded the city along the three sides while the coastline was left open.
The number of hunters and special forces was doubled in the city and everyone collaborated with other to provide assistance and avoid any further invasions from occurring.
Xiran also invested a huge sum of money in the "Research Department" of the Hunter division. Since he was responsible for killing Markius, Xiran provided them with the services of two renowned scientists to take over the research work. The focus was on creating a serum strong enough to paralyse his father.
The Orphanage Xiran had started building was completed and became functional. All the children that had been orphaned in the recent attack were shifted there and Xiran mostly spent his time with them, now. Reading them story books, colouring, painting, playing, singing and other activities.
Agent 93 became Xiran’s, righthand man. The information he had given was legit and Rivan even found the yearbook picture of him and his fiancèe. He gradually began to fill in the void left by Carios. Although Agent 93 was sloppy at his job and didn’t always succeed in getting the job done, Xiran found him amusing.
"Zir! Did you bring the colours for the kids as I asked?" Xiran inquired while observing and arranging the new books he had ordered for them.
"I have," Agent 93 said proudly. Xiran had started to call him Zir, short for his real name. He watched Zir as he placed tins of enamel paints on his desk. He had brought the paint used to paint metal surfaces instead of the simple poster paints Xiran had ordered for kids. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺
Xiran shot him a sharp disappointed look and he halted with a paint tin in his hand, sensing something was wrong.
"Señor! What’s wrong?" he casually questioned.
"What type of paint did I tell you to bring?" Xiran’s voice held a bit of irritation.
"Ummm! I went to the shop and till the time I entered I remembered the name but there was so much variety that the name skipped my mind," the boy sheepishly answered while rubbing the back of his head.
"These are enamel paints used for metal surfaces. I asked for simple poster paints. Take out your mobile and note it down so you won’t forget next time," Xiran explained with a shake of his head.
"Sorry, Señor! This won’t be repeated. I will do better next time."
He quickly began to remove the paint tins and toppled a few in the process. He caught several with his vampiric speed but one tumbled on the ground. It fell with a tiny thud, the lid flew open and red paint was spilt all over the white immaculate carpet of Xiran’s new office in the orphanage. Zir’s mouth flew open in shock.
Xiran closed his eyes and took a deep breath so as not to flip over the clumsy boy. His irritation was evident on his face.
"Oh! Sorry, I am really sorry. I...umm I will clean it up," and he frantically began to look around to search for something to wipe the paint with.
"Zir! Leave before you make more mess. Go and bring the right paints and leave everything else," Xiran ordered him with clenched teeth. He didn’t understand how the boy was so clumsy even though he was a vampire.
"Yes, yes!" he took the remaining cans and fled for his life while Xiran called Horius to clean up the mess he had created.
Xiran took his face in his hands to lessen the tensions which were ripping apart his peace. Not for a second Aselia’s thoughts would leave him alone and although Frila constantly kept him updated through Yurian he worried about her.
Yurian had only spoken with him once in the last two months and after that, all his calls had remained unanswered. He didn’t want to trouble the boy too much, remembering that Aselia might be with him most of the time and he would never talk to him in front of her.
"Mister Xi," a small voice hurled him back to reality and he glanced towards the door to find the small femoris girl he had rescued. She was poking her head in and watching him. Worries lined the little girl’s face as her small hands held the door open.
"Hey! Casvia, come in," he offered her a bright smile. All his worries disappeared for a second seeing the little girl. She timidly approached him and he shifted her in his lap.
"What is it little one?" he softly asked her. Picking up the candy jar from his desk he opened it and gave her a chocolate. Casvia finally smiled and taking the chocolate began to unwrap it.
"You seemed worried, I came to check on you. Why are you sad Mister Xi?" she innocently asked while taking a bite of the chocolate.
"It’s nothing, you shouldn’t worry about me," he gently ruffled her hair.
"You worry about us, why can’t I do the same?" Casvia had smeared chocolate all over her tiny face and Xiran couldn’t help but chuckle.
"It’s my job to worry about all of you and your only job is to have fun because you are too little to bother about the big stuff. Let me handle that," he warmly smiled at Casvia and grabbing a tissue from the tissue box he wiped her face when she said:
"Can I ask something, Mister Xi?"
"Of course."
"Do you miss someone too? Like I do my parents?" her soft big eyes held so many tingling emotions. Xiran hesitated a bit to answer but then said:
"Yes, I miss someone too."
"Is that why you are sad and lonely?" her innocent questions put a sad smile on his face.
"A bit, yes. But I have all you kids now. So why not we go out and play hide and seek, instead of sitting here and being lonely?" Casvia’s face brightened and she began to grin.
"Yes, let’s do it. I am sure you are going to lose again. You can never find me," she challenged him and he smiled as both of them made their way out while she held his finger with her tiny hand.
