Elven Encounter With A Blood Seeker
Chapter 275: Securing The Area
"Thank you for arriving on time and assisting us," the chief of police shook Aselia’s bloodied hand and offered his gratitude.
"That’s why we are here, to keep this town and surroundings safe. Patrol the whole area and make sure it’s been secured. Me and my partner here will do the same," Aselia replied while he began to give instructions to his men to patrol the border.
Aselia turned to Jaguar who was wiping his hands over the clothes of a dead rogue vampire. She watched him for a few seconds before he turned his bloodied face towards her, there was this burning fire in his eyes she hadn’t seen before.
"We need to take a round of the city and ensure everyone’s safety. Some of the enemies might be lurking around or attacking civilians," Aselia wore a grim expression.
"Sure, let’s go," he picked up the helmet Aselia had thrown aside and tossed it back towards her. She effortlessly caught it and adjusted it on her head.
Once back on the motorbike, Aselia called Yurian but he didn’t pick up. She knew he must still be in battle so she left him a voice note of what had transpired here.
They roamed the streets together, ensuring residents of the town were safe. Aselia called Esma and Razian as well. Razian had closed his pharmacy and headed home when he heard the sirens and both of them were safe. No rogues were successful in infiltrating the town. She still wanted to stop by and see them.
"Can you take a left from here? I want to ensure my home is secure," she asked Jaguar.
"Sure," he followed her instructions and took her home. She dismounted the bike and taking off her helmet, hurried towards the main door.
Razian opened it and was horrified to see Aselia’s condition. Her gold and white uniform was strewn with blood and so was her face.
"Are you alright?" he instinctively held her by the shoulders, his voice laced with worry. Esma came running outside too.
"I am totally fine. Are you guys good?" Aselia inquired while hugging Esma.
"We are. What happened? Why so much blood?" Esma held her face and inspected it from both sides, looking for injuries.
"Just a random rogue attack but everything is under control now. We dealt with it," she ensured them. Seeing how worried their faces were her heart jolted.
"Where is Rawais?" Razian inquired about his son.
"He is away on another mission, don’t worry he will be back soon and I will ask him to call you as soon as he returns. But I have to go now and ensure the safety of the whole town," Aselia patted Esma so she wouldn’t worry.
"Be safe and come home as soon as possible," Esma was almost on the verge of tears, her voice was cracking.
"I will, please don’t worry," Esma hugged Aselia before letting her go. Aselia rushed back to the bike and threw her helmet on before mounting it again. Esma and Razain watched her with concerned eyes. Jaguar started it and off they went.
"Your parents?" he casually asked once they were a bit of distance away from her home.
"Yurian’s parents, I live with them. Mine died when I was a kid," her reply had him stiffen for a minute.
"I am sorry," he took a left turn so they could head back to their base. Aselia was casually holding him by his sinewy shoulders.
"Don’t worry about it," the rest of the journey was spent in silence as they roamed the empty streets but didn’t meet any more rogues. The night had fallen by the time they returned to the base.
Scrambling down from the bike Aselia took off her helmet and handed it back to Jaguar. He went on to park it in the parking lot and she made her way inside.
"Did anyone return?" she queried from the guard.
"No ma’am. We weren’t attacked either," he filled her in.
"Good, be alert though. Anyone could be lurking around," she instructed him before heading inside. She made her way to the changing room. Her phone began to ring and it was Yurian. She quickly answered.
"Yuri! How is the situation?"
"It’s bad but we are handling it. But I don’t think we will be able to return tonight. We will have to stay a day or two. How is the situation there? I shouldn’t have left you alone," he apprehensively responded.
"I am not alone. Jaguar is a beast when it comes to fighting. So you needn’t worry and be careful. Also, call home. I just returned from there, they were worried about you."
"Yes, I am going to call them. Will you be staying at the base for tonight?" Yurian asked.
"I have to, can’t abandon it. So, complete your mission and return safely, will talk later."
"Take care, partner. Until we meet again," Yurian ended the call after that and Aselia turned around to find Jaguar standing right behind her. He had removed his shirt and tossed it aside.
"Ummm...a little warning before you take off your clothes in presence of a female," her mouth flew open and she quickly shut her eyes but the image of his muscled naked torso remained in her mind.
"Oh! Sorry. I thought hunters were open about it and you were here in the common changing room. So I thought that will be alright with you. I just want to take a shower," he moved closer and lingered near her. His lips curved up in a mischievous smile before moving towards the shower area.
"I will wait outside," Aselia opened one eye and took a small peek. Thankfully he was gone so she quickly scrambled outside the changing area and waited until he was done.
Clad in a clean pair of t-shirt and black jeans, Jaguar stepped outside the changing room and raked his hand through his wet hair.
"All yours," he slightly bowed with respect and pointed towards the changing room. Aselia rolled her eyes at him and his actions and opening the door went inside to change. Leaving him standing there with a knowing smile.
