Chapter 477: Little Ones Come Home

Xiran and Aselia took their babies home that night. They were perfectly healthy and Aselia’s post-delivery state was improving as well.

Irlana and Rivan decided to accompany them while Yurian promised to visit as soon as his parents were there. He would tag along with them and didn’t want to overcrowd the place for now.

Salia and Rony were waiting for them. The house had been decorated with fairy lights, balloons and a banner that read:

"Welcome Home Little Ones"

Rony barked and danced in excitement seeing Aselia step down from the car, guided by Xiran. Rony was gradually introduced to the twins. They familiarised him with their scents first. His tail wagged and he excitedly barked seeing the tiny creatures.

Everyone gushed at his reaction to the babies.

"He is going to become their biggest protector," Irlana remarked, patting the large beastly dog with the softest fur. And he agreed with a woof.

"I will take care of Arian and Ciaran, you people assist Aselia," Rivan held both the twins.

Irlana, Salia and Xiran helped Aselia settle in.

For now, Aselia wanted the twins in her room so the bedside cribs were arranged and adjusted so the twins could be near their parents.

"You should rest for a while. I will ask Salia to prepare you fresh broth with turmeric that’s good for your health and will help your body heal," Xiran suggested, helping her lay down in bed. Aselia raised her left brow at him.

"Who told you that?"

"I searched," he reassuringly smiled and Aselia couldn’t help but open her arms, inviting him to hug her. Very gently he gathered her in his robust arms while she crashed her lips onto his, her hands caressed his face.

"Thank you!" she mumbled into his mouth, their eyes closed and foreheads connected. She knew she was home, he was her home.

Carefully he let her go, not wanting to cause her even the slightest of discomfort.

"You don’t have to thank me, Leia. This is what a husband should do for his wife. Here, I will comb and braid your hair. They are a mess," placing one final kiss on her forehead Xiran proceeded to bring a hairbrush to comb his wife’s hair and braid them with the same ribbon.

Rivan returned to his mansion at night but Irlana stayed with them as Aselia was still recovering. While Ciaran occasionally smiled and didn’t make a fuss all night long. Only slightly whimpered when his little tummy was empty. Arian was a grumpy baby, he would scream at the top of his lungs every hour, needing to be immediately fed by his mother or if he needed a change of diaper.

Xiran, Aselia, Irlana and Salia didn’t get much sleep throughout the night, although they tried so that Aselia could get as much rest as possible and only needed to get up to feed her kids.

It was nearly five in the morning when both babies finally went to sleep.

"Irlana, you should get some rest too. I will call you when needed," Xiran told his sister, seeing she was yawning.

"Alright, call me whenever, don’t hesitate," kissing both the twins she went upstairs to get some rest.

"Xiran! My breasts are already sour and it’s hardly a day. Our babies are so needy," Aselia grumbled and Xiran slipped in bed with her. Gently pulling her close he tenderly kissed the upper swell of her mounds.

"In a few days, we will introduce them to formula milk too as Dr. Wanstine has suggested. You can’t feed both of them and it will lessen the burden on you," she snuggled close to his tapered body, moulding with his and nodded.

"Sleep now, you need rest. I will watch them if they wake up," his hand reassuringly caressed her back and soon she drifted off to sleep.

Esma, Razian and Yurian arrived the next morning with tons of gifts for all four of them. They were overjoyed and couldn’t even contain the happiness they had been experiencing.

"Heavens! Look at these adorable fluff balls," Esma shrieked in excitement as she entered the room followed by Razian and Yurian and went on to see the babies first.

Aselia and Xiran couldn’t hide their contented smiles. Their babies were the centre of attraction. Razian held Ciaran while Esma picked up Arian before proceeding to hug and congratulate Aselia and Xiran.

"You have made us proud grandparents, Leia. We can’t even put into words the emotions bubbling inside us," Esma closely hugged her and Aselia reflected her happiness.

"Thank you for being here. You got to stay with me now. I am not letting you go," Aselia declared, settling comfortably in her motherly embrace.

"Mom will stay with you as long as you want," Yurian quipped, taking Arian from his mother so she could talk to Aselia. Razian lovingly patted Aselia’s head as well, showing his affection.

"Aww! What’s wrong little one? You didn’t like my face?" Arian scrunched up his stubby nose and began wailing at the top of his lungs as soon as Yurian held him. He so wanted to pinch his chubby pink cheeks but Arian was already cross.

"He doesn’t seem to like the world for now," Xiran chuckled and gestured for Yurian and Razian to come outside with the twins so they could give the ladies some privacy to discuss girlie matters.

While the men mingled with the babies. Esma, Aselia and Irlana discussed different aspects related to babies. Esma bestowed all her wisdom on Aselia, telling her what needed to be done and what needed to be avoided.

-----------

The next few days saw an influx of guests at their home. While Esma had decided to stay with Aselia, Razian returned home and so did Irlana. But she would come every other day to meet her nephews.

Zirius and Arimie visited with their newborn daughter; Olesia. She was an elf, through and through. Pointed ears and deep green eyes with a head full of golden hair. She was surely a mini Arimie.

"She is so beautiful," Aselia held her in her arms and kissed her forehead, she observed Aselia with befuddled eyes.

"Thank you, so are your twins," Arimie answered as she played with Ciaran while Zirius held a wailing Arian. It was clear he didn’t like being held by strangers and was only his mommy’s boy.

"Bring him here," Aselia gestured with her hand and Zirius sheepishly obeyed and cheekily said:

"He has such strong vocal chords."

"Lol, yes he makes quite a fuss," Aselia had to hand over Olesia as she cuddled Arian to her chest and he quieted down.

"You needed your mommy, hmm," Aselia smiled down at him and he watched her with teary eyes but didn’t wail anymore.

"Is it difficult to handle twins? I have Olesia and even she tires me out," Arimie questioned Aselia while rocking Ciaran.

"Some days it’s really difficult, especially with Arian because he is fussy. But I have help for now so we are getting by. Although I have no clue how to change their diapers, I need to do a lot of learning."

"White Falcon, we thought being hunters was a difficult job. Mind you, parenting tops it," Zirius shook his head as he cradled his daughter.

"You spoke my mind, heart, soul and body," Aselia cackled and they joined in.

Xiran soon walked in with beverages and food Salia had prepared.

"What did I miss?" he asked, seeing everyone laughing.

"Just that being parents is more difficult than being hunters. Isn’t that right my son?" Aselia teased Arian’s lower lip and Xiran joined in their laughter.

----------

Rumail and Amoris visited some days later too. While Amoris had no clue how to handle a kid and avoided picking them up, too afraid that she wouldn’t be able to carry such tiny creatures.

Rumail on the other hand was a pro. He carried both of them one in each arm and spoke to them as if they could understand every word he was saying to them. While Ciaran remained constantly perched in his arms, Arian only lasted two minutes and returned to his mommy.

"Young man, soon very soon Uncle Rumail is going to win you over," he warned Arian; who had creased his forehead at his words. This made everyone double over with laughter.

"Your kids are so cute and chubby but I was expecting a tiny elf like you," Amoris whispered to Aselia while sipping on the drink that had been served to her.

"Tell me about it, not a shard of semblance to me," Aselia shook her head in disappointment.

"Next time I hope," Amoris winked at her.

"That might take a while, I have my hands full for now. What about you guys? What lies in the near future?" Aselia asked rocking Arian.

"We are going to travel the world together for some years before deciding to settle down. Since we hardly used to spend time together because of the circumstances, it’s high time we take a break," Amoris threw a meaningful glance at Rumail and he sent her a flying kiss in return.

"That’s a wonderful plan and a correct decision. I wish both of you a happy journey ahead," Aselia warmly smiled at the young couple who seemed so much in love with each other and knew what they were doing and what they desired. But her own heart was burdened with the thought that this was what she wanted to be doing with Xiran. Then her gaze fell on the peaceful face of her son and she knew she wouldn’t trade this for anything.
