Chapter 476: Favourite Uncle?

Xiran held the one with black hair, his eyes were just like his, greyish with hints of silver in them. Xiran lovingly kissed his tiny head, snuggling him to his chest for a while. Then he lowered him and the baby boy smiled at his father, melting his heart in the process.

"Aww! Leia, look he is smiling at me," he held him in front of Aselia and she took him in her other arm.

Embracing them close to her frantically thudding heart, a different soothing sensation was wiggling its way inside her, something she had never experienced before, something she didn’t even know existed. These were her beautiful babies and she knew she would protect them with her life. Closing her eyes she relished in this moment. This was what it meant to become a mother.

Xiran sat near her leg, his hand gently resting on it, a satisfied smile adorning his exquisite face, watching his wife and babies. Until one of them started to bawl at the top of his lungs. Making Aselia open her eyes, Xiran quickly moved forward to take him from her.

It was the one with silver hair and blue eyes and Xiran began to rock him in his arms. The eyes reminded him of his father but he just buried that thought, deep down.

"Now now, don’t be like that. I am right here buddy, you wanted to meet me," Xiran cooed, his index finger lightly touching his lower lip. He kept softly speaking to his newborn son while Aselia was lost watching the other one. Except for his hair colour, he looked like his father, same eye colour, the same facial features and skin tone.

"You need to feed them Aselia, at least for the first few times you would need to give them your breast milk. It would enhance their immunity," Dr. Wanstine informed her and Aselia nodded but she didn’t know what to do and how to do it.

"Señor! If you could step outside for a while and give others the good news. I will guide Aselia and then we can shift them to a separate room. We will keep them there for today and will discharge them if everything remains normal and after kids are given their first injections," Dr. Wanstine explained.

Xiran didn’t want to leave the side of his wife and babies but he knew this needed to be done. Dr. Wanstine took the baby from him and half-heartedly handed him over.

"I will be right outside, you have nothing to worry about. Just feed them and I will be back before you know it," he leaned in and kissed her head, his lips lingering there in reassurance.

"Thank you for being there for me," she whispered back, clearly perturbed that he was leaving her side but understanding it was essential. He then kissed both his boys and headed out to give everyone the good news while the intelligent doctor guided Aselia on how to breastfeed her babies.

Outside, Rivan, Rumail and Zirius had also joined the little party, while Esma and Razian were on their way too. As soon as Xiran opened the door and stepped outside, everyone had him gathered with expectant eyes and bated breaths. He broadly smiled and announced:

"We welcomed twin boys and everyone is in perfect health."

"Yahhhh!"

"Congratulations!"

"I am an aunt now."

The shouts filled the air and the atmosphere sizzled with happiness and positive energy. Rivan and Irlana were the first to greet and hug him followed by Yurian and others.

"Never thought I would see the day when you will settle down and become a father," Rivan teased with a laugh and others joined in.

"Well, she brought me to my knees. I had no choice," Xiran winked, hugging his friend again, unable to contain his excitement. A content smile was permanently etched on his lips. The happiness was bubbling inside of him and he only wished for his mother to be here to see this day.

"I am so very happy for you Señor. Now my kid will have someone to play with," Zirius was grinning ear to ear and as usual was full of enthusiasm. He just had a baby girl a week ago.

"That’s for sure," Xiran patted his shoulder.

"How is my sister? And when can we see them?" Yurian asked, unable to wait any longer.

"Soon, they are going to shift them to a room, so everyone will be able to meet them," Xiran answered.

"We will go bring something for Aselia and the babies," Rumail suggested and others nodded in approval and headed out.

Once Aselia and the babies had been shifted to the room after their thorough check-up and babies with full tummies. Everyone was allowed to meet them.

Twins had been placed in bassinets and were lined on each side of Aselia’s bed.

Yurian had brought a giant teddy bear and loads of balloons. He rushed to Aselia’s side and tightly embraced her. The happiness their hearts held was prominent on their faces. Turning to look at the twins, who had been dressed in matching onesies which said:

"We are trouble. Make it double."

He gushed at them, from their tiny hands to smooth skin to chubby feet. Everything was adorable. Yurian kissed them both and then handed one to Rivan and the other to Rumail. 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖

"I am so very happy," he then turned to Aselia and held her close, his face reflecting the love he carried for her.

"Thank you! Yuri, for being here for me. You are my brother and will always be."

"Same sentiments but your babies are going to have me as their favourite uncle," he declared loudly for everyone to hear.

"Fat chance buddy, we all know I am the coolest uncle," Rumail smirked, pointing his fingers towards himself and winking. This elicited loud laughter from everyone.

"Oh! Really? I am the funniest and kids love the funniest the most. I have zero doubt that no one else can be their favourite when I am here," Zirius pipped in. Frila, Aselia and Irlana were laughing at the antics of the boys. Xiran and Rivan were sitting in the chairs closer to Aselia’s bed and enjoying the to and fro between the boys.

"Well, in the end, it all comes down to money. And to pop your silly dreams, it’s not untrue to assume who has the most money here. Kids love toys and candy and I am going to bring mountains of both," Rivan’s calm voice had everyone stunned for a second before guffawing out aloud. He just shrugged with the little one in his arms and the friendly banter continued. Irlana took the baby from him and cuddled him close to her.

"And I am your favourite aunt, remember that," she whispered to the tiny bundle of joy, who was fast asleep.

"How are you feeling, Aselia? Do you need something to eat? You must be exhausted?" Frila softly inquired, squeezing her hand.

"Some soup will be nice," and Frila nodded and walked over to the table where Xiran had brought tons of food for his wife. She began to pour out soup for her.

"Let me feed her Frila," Xiran gently took the bowl from her and she graciously smiled and handed it over. While Frila joined the banter with the boys and took one of the twins from Rumail, Xiran proceeded to feed his wife.

"Leia, are you happy?" he sat beside her with the soup bowl, his other hand extended to brush away her hair which was still in disarray and rested on her cheek. She leaned in his touch, their eyes holding onto each other.

"I am, my heart is brimming with love for these tiny creatures who look nothing like me," she pouted at him, making him throw his head back and laugh.

"Yeah, I noticed," he extracted his hand and offered her a spoonful of soup and she gladly took it.

"Don’t worry, they will have your spirit and beautiful heart," he sweetly expressed and she couldn’t help but smile at his words, all exhaustion and pain disappeared.

"Fatherhood suits you, somehow you look even more handsome than before. If that’s even a possibility," she coyly replied.

"Thank you for giving me the gift of becoming one. I can never repay you or can even fathom the discomforts and pain you went through. But I will be there every step of the way in raising them, in guiding them, in holding them. We will be one unit, regardless of what may come," he reassured her while continuing to feed her soup.

"Oh, the labour pain was a bitch. I am not going to lie but you being there with me eased my heart so much. I wouldn’t have been able to do it alone," Aselia lovingly smiled at her husband who returned it.

"Sorry in the heat of the moment, I forgot to teleport. I was so afraid I was going to miss their birth," he rubbed the back of his head and she heartily laughed.

"But you didn’t. What are we going to name them?" remembering they had postponed the idea of naming them until after the kids were born.

"Hmmm, what do you suggest?"

"What about Arian and Ciaran?" Aselia thoughtfully suggested. Arian meant silver-haired while Ciaran meant dark-haired one. Xiran’s eyes sparkled at the suggestions because the names clicked for him.

"I love the sound of that. It’s settled. Our twins will be called Arian and Ciaran from now on," he announced for everyone to hear.
