Chapter 149: S-Rank Talent Achieved! The Power of Value Changer Card
Ding!
[You have obtained the Talent: Elemental King (Lower S-Rank)]
[You have obtained the Skill: Elemental King’s Domain (Mythical, 3-Star)]
[You have obtained the Skill: Elemental Fusion Attack (Mythical, 3-Star)]
[Elemental King (Lower S-Rank): You are the sovereign of the elements that shape the world. You have gained absolute resistance to all standard elements.]
[Unlocked Nature Elements: Fire, Water, Earth, Wind.]
[Details: You can freely create and manipulate skills using these elements. You are completely immune to attacks using these elements from enemies in the same stage as you. If your opponent is one stage higher than you, incoming elemental damage will be forcefully reduced by 50%.]
[Locked Elements: Light, Darkness, Lightning, Frost, Metal (Unlocks at Gold Rank)]
[Ding! You can use the power of frost since you already had it.]
[Locked Elements: Space, Time, Gravity ] ( Unlocks at ??? Rank)
[Elemental King’s Domain (Mythical, 3-Star): Summon forth the raw power of the elements to form an absolute domain 30 meters around you. Unleashes a continuous chain of elemental attacks on trapped enemies. Enemies will remain stunned as long as the domain is active.]
[Elemental Fusion Attack (Mythical, 3-Star): Fuse all your available elemental power into a single, highly unstable attack to deal catastrophic damage.]
"That is a massive buff," Caelus muttered, his eyes glowing.
He was slowly turning into an absolute monster. He could not hide his excitement. A powerful S-Rank talent was finally in his hands.
"Thank god I did not enter the Origin Domain today, or I would have completely missed this opportunity."
Before, he could punch one major level above his weight class at best. Now, with the elemental immunities and domain control, he could effortlessly skip two levels and fight at the Gold rank despite only officially being a Silver I. This was completely incredible.
He had also harvested a massive amount of experience from the Challenge Domain. It would not be long before his Silver I jumped to Silver II, meaning his raw power would directly reach the terrifying threshold of Gold II.
"But, what exactly are these Value Changer Cards for?" Caelus wondered curiously.
He pulled the mysterious cards from his inventory. He had received Skill Evolution Cards and one Value Changer Card as his MVP rewards.
The Skill Evolution Cards did not have a specific rarity, meaning they could be universally applied to upgrade any skill. He immediately used Divine Duplication to duplicate them.
Ding!
[10x Multiplier Achieved!]
[1x Multiplier Achieved!]
In the end, he was left with 32 total Skill Evolution Cards. A massive haul.
With that out of the way, he checked the unique item Value Changer Card.
[Value Changer Card (???,???): You can use this to permanently change the numerical or mechanical value of a skill or trait. (Example: Changing a skill’s ’True Damage’ modifier to ’Normal Damage’ and vice versa, or altering a specific stat scaling.)]
"No way," Caelus was entirely baffled. "Can I use it on my Body Enhancement?"
But before he recklessly tried it, he attempted to duplicate it. He had a master plan in mind. He wanted to use it on Sylvia’s Origin Blood Blessing. It was a powerful enhancement they had used for a long time, but now that their combat scores were scaling so high, the old blessing was starting to fall off.
DIVINE DUPLICATION!
Ding!
[Duplication Failed. This item exceeds your current talent limits.]
"Tsk," Caelus clicked his tongue.
He was expecting a lucky 10x duplication, but that seemed impossible for an item of this caliber.
Sighing, he called Sylvia over to the living room. He handed her the Value Changer Card instead.
It was way more useful in her hands. Caelus was already struggling slightly to control his own physically enhanced body at Silver I. If he mutated his Body Enhancement blindly, who knows what would happen? He might accidentally break his own bones just by walking.
But Caelus was full of determination. He just needed to hunt down more of these Value Changer Cards in the future.
Sylvia happily accepted the card and applied it to her core support skill.
Soon, the Origin Blood Blessing was fully adjusted. Starting now, instead of a variable critical multiplier, it would grant a massive flat damage increase. The blessing had also naturally evolved alongside her rank, jumping from the initial +5 scaling to a solid +8.
Now, whoever received her blood blessing would gain a flat +8 Damage Multiplier on all attacks. It would most definitely evolve even further once she hit Gold.
"Wind, Fire, Water, Earth..."
Sylvia blinked as she walked back from the kitchen, watching four miniature elemental orbs revolving effortlessly around Caelus’s fingers.
"Did you extract that from someone?" she asked curiously.
"No. It is the result of merging my bloated talents together," Caelus briefly explained his new S-Rank Elemental King status.
"Is it very powerful?"
"Of course. Try using a fire attack on me," Caelus said with a confident smile.
Sylvia raised her hand and casually flicked a bolt of her signature Blood-Fire directly at his chest.
The instant the lethal, corrosive fire touched his shirt, it completely dispersed into harmless red mist.
"With this, I am essentially invincible within my own rank, as long as my opponent does not strictly use raw physical brute force or higher-dimensional elements to attack me," Caelus grinned.
With his new powers tested, he kind of wanted to check out the newly bought Profession Cards he had picked up earlier today. He initially planned to do so before entering the Domain, but the sudden Challenge Domain had ruined his schedule.
Just then, his phone vibrated. He received a call.
It was Mia.
"Let’s talk," she said, cutting straight to the chase. Her voice sounded exhausted but urgent.
"Sure. Come over to the mansion," Caelus replied casually. "I also want to speak directly with your Angel master."
He hung up the phone. Then, he slowly glanced over at Sylvia, who had returned to the kitchen. He gulped loudly.
He desperately wanted to text Mia back and say: When you come over, please stay exactly five meters away from me at all times for your own safety. But that would come off as incredibly rude, so he kept his mouth shut.
Hopefully, Sylvia would not start killing outright.
A short while later, the doorbell rang.
Caelus had already mentioned Mia’s arrival. Sylvia was standing in the kitchen, silently examining the sharp edge of a large kitchen knife with an entirely deadpan, emotionless look on her face.
She calmly slipped the knife into the front pocket of her cute cooking apron and walked over to greet the guest with Caelus.
Caelus was sweating bullets. He opened the front door.
Unexpectedly, Mia was not alone.
Standing right beside the heavily bandaged City Lord’s daughter was a towering, incredibly burly man. He wore a sharp suit, but the top half of his face and his eyes were completely covered by a thick, glowing blindfold covered in divine golden runes and right next to him was a Nun.
