Endless Extraction in a Game-Like World
Chapter 150: Rejecting the Boundless Light Faction! Rolling the Faction Wheel
"What is the meaning of this, Mia?" Caelus narrowed his eyes. He looked critically at the towering, burly man and the young girl next to him dressed in a pristine Church nun outfit.
They were without a doubt from the Holy Church.
The aura radiating from the nun and the burly man was unmistakable. They were both sitting squarely at the Gold rank.
"Please calm down, benefactor. I was the one who proposed they come here to meet you," a soft voice echoed.
Suddenly, an ethereal, glowing angelic figure materialized from within Mia’s body.
Sylvia instantly went on high alert the moment the Angel appeared. Sensing the overwhelming, concentrated holy power radiating from the guests made her skin crawl. She knew exactly why. It was her natural, biological reaction as a Vampire.
"Huh? A Vampire?" The Angel suddenly froze in place. Her glowing eyes locked onto Sylvia. She clearly did not expect to meet a creature of the night in this mansion.
"What?" The nun, Marie, and the burly guy, Stephen, both experienced a drastic change in expression. "A Vampire?!"
Stephen warily glared at Sylvia, unapologetically leaking thick killing intent.
Sylvia’s red eyes flared. She did exactly the same, staring back at the towering man with an equally deadly, bloodthirsty glare. Her hand slowly reached for the kitchen knife still hidden in her apron.
"She is Sylvia Reign. My partner," Caelus spoke up, his voice dropping to a freezing temperature. "If you are here just to stare daggers at my girlfriend, then leave. You are not welcome in my home."
Caelus unleashed his overwhelming power. The holy mana oozing out of the burly man instantly froze up as chaos Axiom Energy flooded the living room, completely suffocating the Gold rank pressure.
"Reign...?" Marie looked at the scene with a wry expression. "Are you related to Leonard Reign?"
"She is his younger sister," Caelus replied.
"Eh?" The burly guy froze up completely. His killing intent vanished in a fraction of a second.
"Oh, so it is Leonard’s younger sister." The burly man let out a small, incredibly awkward chuckle.
"I completely apologize. I did not expect this," he said apologetically. He turned to Sylvia and bowed deeply. "The Vampire Faction is historically against the Holy Church, and so are the other creatures of night. We apologize for hastily mistaking you for an enemy."
"Leonard Reign has provided great, meritful help to the Church. I genuinely hope you will forgive us, Miss."
"I do not really care," Sylvia replied, crossing her arms. "I am used to the Holy Church’s dramatic way of reacting whenever they see me."
Caelus glanced at Sylvia. He could still feel her lingering discomfort.
"It seems like my girlfriend is uncomfortable with you guys being here," Caelus spoke up, pointing toward the door. "Leave."
Everyone froze in absolute shock.
"We came all the way here to meet you both, and you just want us to leave?" Stephen asked, a hint of mild anger leaking into his voice.
The Angel, on the other hand, looked at Caelus with an indifferent expression. If she knew he would be this troublesome and disrespectful, she would not have wasted her precious time manifesting. It was completely clear that he did not want to cooperate with them. She initially came here to have Caelus formally join the Church, but that clearly was not going to happen.
Caelus simply shrugged. He did not care about their feelings.
"No, wait, Caelus. Let’s see what they have to say," Sylvia suddenly nudged Caelus gently from the side. "I am sure there is an actual reason for them coming here. Let’s hear them out." 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ𝑤𝑒𝑏𝑛𝘰𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝒸𝑜𝘮
"Alright," Caelus nodded, instantly melting at Sylvia’s request. His terrifying aura vanished. "Then, please, sit down."
The guests exchanged uncomfortable looks and took their seats around the living room table. They formally introduced themselves before the Angel, who called herself Lyra, spoke up.
"I work directly for the Archangel Uriel. She tasked me with guiding the humanity of this world away from the clutches of other heretic god envoys."
"But Mia has already confirmed that you do not currently belong to any established factions." Lyra looked at Caelus. "Hence, I would like to formally invite you to join our noble Boundless Light Faction."
"No," Caelus stared blankly at them and replied without missing a beat.
The room fell dead silent.
"Oh noble one, please reconsider! The Church could use your immense power for good," Marie spoke up desperately. "Your power has reached the Gold rank in such a short amount of time. That is exactly what the Church needs right now! A rule breaker who can step up and unify the continent under the Church’s order so there will not be any malice across this world!"
Caelus almost sneered out loud upon hearing this, but he held it back.
"I have made my stance completely clear. I will not be participating in your little comedy show."
"What do you mean by that?" Stephen asked, clearly enraged by the deeply disrespectful way Caelus was speaking to a divine representative.
Caelus sneered openly this time. He understood the Holy Church’s grand goal perfectly. They wanted to aggressively expand their influence so this entire world fell under their specific faction banner. They must have many envoys here, just like the heretic Hollow King.
As a Faction Leader himself, he saw right through their holy facade. There were still things related to the Faction Population milestones he had not unlocked yet, but he could roughly deduce what they were truly after. They wanted mindless numbers to fuel their faction perks.
He was not going to let that happen.
He politely stood up, saw them to the door, and firmly shut it in their faces.
"What a joke. Spread the order of the holy church? As if I would ever let that happen." Caelus clicked his tongue.
"Sylvia. Starting right now, we will be aggressively recruiting more people into our own Chaos Faction."
"Yes," Sylvia nodded firmly, completely supporting his decision.
Once the annoying guests were gone, Sylvia and Caelus spent some quiet, relaxing time together on the sofa.

Meanwhile, outside the mansion, the burly guy, the nun, and the Angel were sitting silently in their armored transport vehicle.
"Do we purge him?" Stephen asked calmly, staring at the mansion through the tinted window.
"What are you saying?!" Marie’s eyes widened in horror. "Stephen, how can you even think of something like purging an innocent Player?"
"He already belongs to another faction, Marie. I sensed the deep malice from him. He and that Vampire are already part of a hidden faction. Considering his terrifying growth speed, he will only become a massive thorn in our plans to spread the Boundless Light."
"We must eliminate him before he becomes a Crown rank."
Mia sat quietly in the corner of the vehicle. Her eyes flickered silently when she heard Stephen’s cold declaration. However, the emotions on her face did not ripple at all. She already had a firm stance on this matter, and she was more than ready to see it through to the end.

Once the Church issue was temporarily out of the way, Caelus opened his system interface.
It was finally time to check out the Faction Gacha Pull he had painstakingly implemented earlier. Now that he was officially Level 11, he had successfully stepped far beyond the "5 Levels" criteria required to trigger the benefit. He actually had two tickets ready to use.
He swiftly navigated to the Faction page and pressed on the glowing ’Roll’ option.
Considering the insanely powerful capabilities he had coded into this specific gacha wheel, the rewards could be absolutely anything. It ranged from a massive amount of permanent Combat Score, which could change his power scaling instantly, all the way to legendary Domain Updates. Domain updates was life changing on itself.
The golden wheel appeared in his vision and began spinning rapidly.

A/N: Sorry for the delay, I was on the bed with a severe cold. I still found some time to write this. Also, this week, we reached over 800 Power Stone. I never knew we would see this day. But here we are. I’ll do a mass release sometimes this week for it.
