Endless Extraction in a Game-Like World
Chapter 263: Easter Egg capable of Granting Power, A New Rising Group in the server, Leaf Town and Encounter
Caelus reread the announcement one more time.
The words "rewards that can make you stronger" lingered in his mind.
He realized the importance of this event.
An Easter Egg capable of increasing a player’s strength was something no one would willingly ignore. If he or Sylvia obtained one, it could directly improve their combat power. Even if the reward was useless to them, there would certainly be countless players willing to pay an enormous amount of Origin Credits for it.
His eyes were full of determination. It was either he got stronger or he got more money, and both were things that would make him happy.
"Whatever is inside those Easter Eggs..."
"We have to get them before everyone else."
Sylvia nodded in agreement.
She understood exactly what he was thinking.
Opportunities like this were the fastest way to widen the gap between themselves and every other player, and they had to be one of the players that got those opportunities.
Before searching for Easter Eggs, Caelus decided they should check on Mason first.
Since Mason was one of the few trustworthy people they knew inside the Domain, gathering information from him would save them valuable time, and he also wanted to ask him about his village’s situation.
The two immediately headed toward Mason’s gambling den.
Several players could already be seen running frantically in different directions, clearly searching for Easter Eggs themselves or getting ready to head out.
When they finally arrived, Caelus stopped in front of the gambling den.
The building was completely empty. There were no players rolling the wheel, and more importantly, there was no sign of Mason anywhere.
Caelus furrowed his brows seeing this.
"That’s strange..."
"Where did he go?"
Sylvia carefully looked around the abandoned shop.
She said, "Maybe..."
"He was attacked by that player he mentioned yesterday."
"What do you think, hubby?"
Caelus immediately remembered the mysterious player Mason had previously mentioned.
Considering everything that had happened recently, Sylvia’s guess was entirely possible.
He nodded.
"That’s probably it. Then, let’s go find him to make sure. On the way, we will look for the Easter Egg as well."
Sylvia smiled. She had no problem with that.
The two left Mason’s shop and began making their way back toward the Region Lord Territory via Town Portal.
He waited near a rocky region outside the Region Lord Territory after leaving his town. He was waiting for Sylvia, and surprisingly, her town was not that far from his town.
Once she arrived, they set off to the coordinates given by Mason while looking out for the Easter Egg. Their destination was Leaf Town.
Leaf Town.
Caelus studied the surroundings. Compared to their own town, Leaf Town was only about thirty minutes away on foot.
Before they could enter, dozens of players suddenly blocked the road ahead.
Every one of them wore similar equipment, making it obvious they belonged to the same group. Some held swords while others carried bows and shields, creating a defensive wall that completely sealed off the entrance.
One man confidently walked out from the crowd. His expression was full of arrogance as he folded his arms and looked down on the two.
"Stop right there, you two." He spoke slowly. "No one passes beyond this point."
Caelus raised an eyebrow hearing this.
"Why?"
The man smirked proudly hearing Caelus’s question. "Because this territory now belongs to Red Cool Dragon Town."
"Red Cool Dragon Town?" Caelus repeated the unfamiliar name.
The man immediately straightened his back with obvious pride. It was clear he enjoyed introducing the name.
He loudly declared, "We are the fastest rising group on this server."
"Soon we will become the strongest guild."
"One day every server will know the name Red Cool Dragon."
He finished speaking as though expecting admiration.
Instead, Caelus slowly looked toward Sylvia and Sylvia looked back at him.
The two immediately burst into a fit of laughter.
"Red Cool Dragon? What sort of name is that?" Caelus couldn’t hide his laughter. "It’s worse than my Chaos Faction. Did a toddler name your group?"
The surrounding players immediately became embarrassed and furious.
After calming down, Caelus casually spoke once again with a deadpan look.
"Ahem, anyways. That is nice and all, but I have business inside this town."
The leader’s expression instantly darkened hearing this. "You think you can come and go whenever you want?"
"This place belongs to us now."
"Go away, brat. If I see you here for one more second, I will directly take your life to set an exa..."
However, before he could finish speaking, Caelus disappeared from his vision.
Bang!
His fist crashed directly into the man’s stomach.
The arrogant player’s eyes bulged outward as all the air left his lungs. His body folded in half before flying backward across the road and rolling several meters away.
The surrounding players froze in complete shock.
One of them shouted, "What are you doing?!"
Several players immediately charged toward Caelus.
Bang!
Bang!
Bang!
Caelus threw punch after punch.
Every strike dropped another player onto the ground. None of them could withstand even a single hit.
Sylvia watched the scene with a gentle smile.
She then slowly raised one hand as crimson Aura began gathering around it. The surrounding air trembled from the pressure of her power.
A gigantic crimson energy hand suddenly erupted into existence. It shot forward with incredible speed before grabbing one of the charging players around the waist. Another energy hand appeared moments later and seized a second player before he could even react.
The captured players desperately struggled, but the enormous hands refused to budge. Their faces quickly turned pale as they realized escape was impossible.
Sylvia immediately snapped her fingers.
Crack!
Crack!
The energy hands immediately tightened.
The sounds of bones breaking echoed throughout the entrance. Both players screamed in agony before collapsing onto the ground, unable to move any longer.
The remaining players instantly lost all courage.
Caelus dusted off his sleeves as though nothing important had happened.
He glanced toward Sylvia before giving her an approving nod.
"Good work."
Sylvia happily smiled back.
Without paying another glance to the defeated players, the two walked directly into Leaf Town.
Not a single person dared to stop them again.
Whrmm!
However, they had barely taken a few steps into the town when a brilliant golden pillar of light suddenly erupted from somewhere near the center.
The dazzling light pierced the sky, making it impossible to ignore.
Caelus immediately narrowed his eyes.
"It must be the Easter Egg. Let’s run, Sylvia."
Both of them instantly broke into a sprint.
They weaved through the streets as quickly as possible, following the golden pillar toward its source.
As they arrived at the town square, both of them immediately stopped.
The scene before them was far worse than either of them expected.
They saw a familiar face there.
Mason was kneeling on all fours. His face was bruised and covered in dirt while his entire body trembled uncontrollably. His hands were pressed against the ground as though he had already given up resisting.
Sitting comfortably on Mason’s back was a young man with long black hair. A pair of expensive sunglasses rested on his face despite being inside the Domain. His expression was completely relaxed, as though he were simply enjoying a show.
In front of him floated a massive roulette wheel covered with glowing symbols and a $ sign.
Floating directly above the wheel was a glowing Easter Egg radiating golden light.
The young man slowly stood up from Mason’s back.
Without warning...
Thud!
He kicked Mason violently in the ribs.
Mason cried out in pain before collapsing back onto the ground.
The man casually adjusted his sunglasses before speaking in an icy voice.
"Mason."
"If that roulette doesn’t stop on the 5x or 10x rebate, I’m going to punish you with a flaming rod."
Mason immediately began trembling even harder hearing this.
Seeing this, a cruel smile slowly appeared beneath the man’s sunglasses.
"And after I take this Easter Egg, I will pay your little sister a visit too."
"She will receive the same punishment."
The man, Jason, laughed softly as though discussing something completely ordinary.
Mason’s face instantly turned pale.
His entire body began shaking uncontrollably.
Before Jason could continue speaking, footsteps echoed across the square.
Every player instinctively turned toward the entrance at the same time. The atmosphere immediately became noticeably quieter.
Caelus walked forward with Sylvia beside him. His expression was calm, but there was a dangerous coldness hidden behind his eyes. Neither of them appeared the slightest bit intimidated by the crowd gathered around the Easter Egg.
Caelus stopped a short distance away before looking directly at Jason.
He said, "Alright."
"That is enough."
The entire square instantly fell silent as his voice resounded.
Mason slowly lifted his head as his eyes widened in disbelief.
"C... Caelus?"
