Eternal Freedom's Ascension
Chapter 238: Kaiser experimenting?
Kaiser looked at her and nodded plainly.
"It’s about you indeed. But I’ve decided to leave it all to you. It’s your decision to make."
Maya’s brows furrowed. "What decision?"
"You will know when the time is right."
The girl laughed heartily. "You really sound like those mysterious fellows from the mystery books I’ve read. Not bad."
He shrugged, then checked the time. It was almost noon. Also, there was a message from Hazel.
"I think you should go back now and rest. It’s almost time for lunch."
The girl peeped over to check the time and nodded.
"You’re right. I didn’t eat much before coming this morning. What about you? You’re still staying?"
Kaiser nodded as they stepped outside the training room. 𝒇𝒓𝙚𝒆𝔀𝓮𝓫𝒏𝓸𝙫𝓮𝓵.𝓬𝙤𝙢
"I have a meeting with a classmate. So I’ll be staying behind."
Maya understood and bid him farewell before leaving.
Just a few seconds after she left, Hazel walked up to him, her expression slightly cold.
"I didn’t expect you to be so cozy with that Class-C girl."
Kaiser immediately corrected her. "She has a name. Maya Grace."
Hazel rolled her eyes. "Right. So you’re busy hanging out with a potential opponent. You really don’t care about the class competitions, do you?"
Kaiser shook his head. "Not in the slightest."
She facepalmed in frustration, then said. "Come with me."
She led him to the section where the Class-E students were now training with Liam.
A few of them looked over, then immediately averted their gazes. Only Kiera’s gaze lingered for a longer time.
"Sit here and wait for me. I’ll be done soon."
Watching her hips sway as she walked back to join the training, Kaiser shrugged off the intruding thoughts and took out his phone.
’I should read brainrot novels to pass time.’

Meanwhile, in the chairman’s office, there was a guest who had come to see him.
"Old friend, I didn’t think I’d be seeing you so soon."
Ture Solace said as he leaned in the cushion. Then, he sniffed to air subtly.
"Six days ago, Kaiser came here with... a bloodling?"
Chairman Jonathan’s expression changed. "Your senses are still as sharp as ever. You can even tell just from a single... sniff."
Ture chuckled. "It’s nothing special. I just isolated Kaiser’s unique scent from the others in your office."
"Oh?" Jonathan was interested. "Unique scent?"
Ture nodded. "That physique he has is really the strangest of the physiques I’ve ever encountered. Everything seems to be pointing towards an enchanting ice incubus."
"Incubus?" Jonathan’s expression turned incredulous. "I’m sure the older generation wiped out those things long ago."
"Not really. They only sealed the stronger ones and kept them at bay. The weaker ones still roam about, wary of Awakened like them."
Hearing his explanation, Jonathan sighed and shook his head.
"Ah... that’s a shame. A shame. Those things are really tricky to deal with. But why did you connect them with your nephew’s physique?"
Ture looked at Jonathan calmly and rephrased his words. "I’m not saying he’s an incubus. I’m only saying that his physique possesses many traits similar to an incubus. The scent I mentioned is part. Apart from artificial perfumes, how can a man smell good when the only thing he produces is sweat?"
Jonathan nodded, understanding his point as the man continued.
"However, those with Kaiser’s physique are different. Their scent is deeply attractive for anyone regardless of the gender, and sometimes, it makes weak-willed creatures run mad."
At this point, Jonathan couldn’t suppress his astonishment. "Ahh, this... isn’t it too dangerous?"
He naturally feared what would happen if Kaiser’s scent started influencing those around him. Especially those Class-E defects.
"Don’t worry, it isn’t strong enough to affect humans in the earlier stages. Your worries are completely unfounded."
Jonathan finally sighed in relief.
"Why did you call me here though? Is it because Kaiser reported that bloodling to you? What did he do? Kill it by himself? I know he despises those things."
Jonathan’s expression became difficult.
"This... you see, he actually came here for the opposite."
Ture blinked, his blue eyes narrowing. "Opposite?"
Jonathan nodded and explained carefully.
"He seems to want to keep that particular bloodling around him. Though I’m not sure why."
He didn’t mention the fact that Kaiser had threatened him in exchange for Kiera’s safety, as he feared that his old friend would bring down the whole school just to punish Kaiser and remind him not to be ’too willful’ as a youth.
Ture’s brows furrowed. "This... is really something I don’t understand. Although Kaiser has always been strange and unpredictable when he was young, I always grasped the intent behind his actions. However, this time, I can’t say."
Jonathan gave a frail smile. "It’s nothing bad, nothing bad. I just thought I should inform you that your boy seems to be interested in experimenting with other species. Also, this is just an excuse for me to see you again."
He was lying. He had felt like something was wrong with Kaiser, as he didn’t act like a typical ’Solace’ should. However, now that Ture was here, he was starting to feel regretful.
He sincerely wished to say the truth, but he didn’t dare risk the consequences.
If he told him Kaiser acted overbearing and even threatened him just to protect Kiera, he couldn’t predict how Ture would react.
Then what if he found out that Kaiser was only protecting her because of some verbal agreement?
Then Turned might just casually stroll into the academy ground and kill the girl. That would have been nice, as Kaiser’s threat would be completely ineffective. But Jonathan couldn’t trust that method.
He had studied Kiera for a while, and realized she was deeply integrated into Class-E.
If Ture tired to kill her, Liam, Hazel, and the others would surely jump to protect their classmate. And this would result in their death.
As the one responsible for the academy, he couldn’t afford lots of casualties. Even if the Pegasus Emperor wanted to retaliate, he wouldn’t dare find trouble with Ture.
He would only come to make things difficult for Jonathan.
So, with all these reasons in mind, Jonathan kept the remaining information hidden.
Ture rubbed his chin thoughtfully, feeling that something wasn’t right. However, he soon came to a conclusion.
"Hm. That’s right. Perhaps he’s finding color in other races too?"
He immediately stood up.
"Then as a good uncle that I am, I should go help him prepare several experimental subjects from those things."
Without saying a word to Jonathan, he disappeared, leaving the office devoid of his presence.
Chairman Jonathan finally sighed in relief.
