Aezaleon did not waste another second and used—Matter Absorption—on this annoying pest.

With which his body once more grew a bit stronger as his wounds and torn muscles were regenerated. He also obtained his second superior concept here.

—<Lightning Vector>—

In the simplest words—it was a concept that enabled precise, and high-speed strike paths. Actually, Aezaleon already made up his mind to use it as the foundation for the sub-ability he was working on currently. For his created ability—<Linear Frost Severance>—it was the perfect concept to realize his vision.

It was exactly what he needed, right when he needed it. The concept was like a master key finally fitting into a stubborn lock.

After resting for a bit and spending some quality time with his three girls, conversing and flirting with them, Aezaleon was again on the move.

He couldn’t even tell how much distance he had traveled, but it was a fact that he had come quite far. Considering he was not battling every calamity he met, with Clementine here, it wasn’t hard for him to avoid the weaker ones while searching for the stronger ones.

And this time she found a bear-type calamity for him.

Moreover, it was also a calamity with the element of Frost.

A rare ice predator—Cryonox Glacioryx Ursidon!

It was massive.

A five-meters-tall colossal bear with thick, jagged ice armor covering its body. Its fur was frozen into sharp crystalline spikes. Its breath released freezing fog, and its claws were long—like translucent ice blades. Its eyes glowed a deep, frozen cyan.

From just its appearance, it was clear that it dominated in close combat with immense strength.

Its capabilities were quite literally terrifying, such as freezing enemies on impact, creating localized blizzards, controlling hundred-meter-wide freezing storms, and shattering enemies with frozen impacts. The bear was a living fortress of ice—Cold and immovable.

It was a true Frost Calamity, possessing inferior concepts such as—[Frost Claw], [Freezing Roar], [Cold Aura], [Glacier Hide], [Snow Surge], [Glaciotremor Slam], [Icebound Recoil], [Permafrost Core], [Frostbite Amplifier], [Cryosurge Energy Channels], [Glacial Bulwark], and [Frostforge Musculature].

And superior concepts such as—[Cryo Break], [Blizzard Authority], [Zero Zone Expanse], [Total Frost Tyranny], [Cryoquake Rupture], [Permafrost Jurisdiction], [Glaciomass Devastation], and [Glaciomancer]. 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ𝑤𝑒𝑏𝑛𝘰𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝒸𝑜𝘮

The battle was truly a sight to behold.

The polar bear was just the match Aezaleon needed to deepen his proficiency in his frost concepts. The pressure was just right. The calamity was strong, but he was stronger. However, he struggled because of the sheer number of concepts and the abilities the calamity utilized.

Every superior concept came with the simultaneous activation of five inferior concepts. Every ability born with the foundation of the superior concepts also came with another superior concept.

Meanwhile, Aezaleon relied on the concepts he had comprehended: four inferior concepts and two superior concepts. [Lesser Frost], [Darkwind], [Thermal Fracture], and [Emberguard Flux] for inferior, and [Cyrolock] and [Lightning Vector] for superior.

This more than made up for the difference in their strength, which mainly came from their intelligence and ascension ranks.

Aezaleon was rank 3 in both material and spiritual, whereas the Calamity: Cryonox Glacioryx Ursidon was rank 3 in Material Ascension rank and rank 2 in Spiritual Ascension rank.

Both were pureblood calamities and had tier-one natural cores. So there wasn’t much difference left in their total prowess if he did not utilize his absolute ability, of course.

Which he obviously did not. Because in lower ranks, an absolute ability was absolute, despite his being a growth and support type one. However, it was not like only he had absolutes. Though these were rare, there were certainly many who had them, and these were all strong entities, existences, and beings.

Clementine was good proof of that; despite being a holder of an absolute—she died in the end. Also, in spite of her absolute being incomplete at the moment, her strength appeared unfathomable. Meaning, instead of becoming arrogant for having what many do not have, Aezaleon was more focused towards his own development.

He was developing a mindset that was absolutely necessary if he ever hoped to stand beside an existence like Clementine, let alone surpass her.

For that, Aezaleon needed to suppress himself. He needed to break himself, forge himself, temper himself. He needed to suffer. He needed to expand on what he could and couldn’t do.

Versatility was a strength, but it could also become a weakness.

All in all, during this battle—Aezaleon let the pressure build up. All so that he could use it to temper and develop himself.

It was working. It was working splendidly.

After suffering from the calamity’s—[Glaciomass Tyrant Break] ability, built on the foundation of its superior concept of—[Glaciomass Devastation]—and the inferior concepts of—[Frostforge Musculature], [Cryosurge Energy Channels], [Frostbite Amplifier], [Glaciotremor Slam], and [Permafrost Core], the bear was a terrifying force.

Ursidon gathered extreme frost energy into its body, reinforcing its muscles and core. It then launched a full-force slam towards him, which Aezaleon dodged in time by using his concepts of [Darkwind] and [Emberguard Flux] because both concepts had the effects of increased acceleration.

The slam hit the ground with a loud, rumbling boom, releasing a massive wave of freezing energy that spread outward, crushing and freezing everything in its path.

Aezaleon, at this point, after suffering from so much frost damage and being pressured so much, at last reached the needed proficiency in his [Lesser Frost] and [Lightning Vector] concepts, where he was finally able to fully develop his sub-effect of his created ability—[Linear Frost Severance].

Which he had been working on since this morning.

He termed it—[Category 2: Glacial Vector Impalement].

Its core nature was rather simple—it was a precise, single-target sub-effect that compressed frost and lightning into a highly focused, lethal strike. It worked by forming a thin lightning-guided line that injects frost directly into the target’s ascension core, causing catastrophic internal damage instead of external spread.

The Lightning Vector also induced a micro-paralysis along neural and energy pathways, briefly restricting the target’s movements and reaction.

This acted as a pre-impact suppression, ensuring near-perfect hit certainty. The strike was like a whisper of death, silent but utterly final.

Afterwards, the [Lesser Frost] manifested inside the target upon penetration, causing instant crystallization of internal blood and energy channels, leading to a structural fracture from within. Simply put: internal freezing and rupturing of organs, vessels, and bones.

Moreover, there was also no area damage or energy leakage, just as he had intended. It was fully concentrated damage with no wastage, making the effect significantly more lethal to a single target than the main ability.

The energy consumption was also low due to zero area spread and highly focused output. It was an effect best for execution, bypassing defenses, and stopping regeneration in one decisive strike.

Everything included, this ability became the game changer in his battle against the Calamity: Cryonox Glacioryx Ursidon. With its outward defenses now essentially becoming useless, it became much easier to damage it.

Aezaleon was also able to use his [Cyrolock] on it now. Afterwards, the rest of the battle was smooth sailing.
