Chapter 104: Ch-103: Guide Eleanor
As soon as Victor and Amber walked closer, many of the people had their eyes light up.
"Hello, handsome, do you need a guide?" Victor heard a voice and saw a beautiful woman looking at him charmingly.
"Guide?" Amber asked with a raised eyebrow as she looked at Eleanor.
"You two look like someone who came here for the first time. It would be better if you had a guide to help navigate the area," the woman said with a smile a she eyed both of them.
’It’s true I’m not familiar, but what if she backstabs me?’ Amber thought while looking at the woman with cautious look on her face.
"I see, but are you competent?" Amber asked with a raised eyebrow, looking doubtfully at the woman in front of her. In terms of beauty, she was slightly inferior to her but superior to many noble girls.
"Of course I am! I’m one of the top guides in this place and know the area like the back of my hand," the woman said confidently as she puffed out her ample chest forward.
"Fine, we will hire you—" Victor paused and looked at her, asking for her name.
"Eleanor, that’s my name," the woman said sweetly as she eyed Amber and Victor like they were two big fat sheep. Victor’s smile stiffened. This was the exact look he gave when he was about to rob or scam others. If the fact there was no malice detected from her, he would have killed her.
Victor had vague memories, as he clearly did not remember the details of the Lightning Valley since it had been a long time, and many memories from his last life were hazy and recovering slowly. So he decided to take a guide, as it would be better than aimlessly wandering in a dangerous place like this.
"But what’s your fee?" Victor asked cautiously, and Eleanor stiffened as she broke out in cold sweat.
"Haha, we can talk about it after I complete the job," Eleanor said while looking at her nails, which caused Amber and Victor to narrow their eyes at her. Seeing this, she sighed and said, "My normal rate is 20 Tier 0 Monster Cores."
"You’re expensive," Amber looked at the woman with a raised eyebrow, as she looked at the guide up and down. Even though she never cares about money but she needs to be capable.
"Hmm, of course. I am completely worth it. And also—" Eleanor paused as she summoned three creatures, and Victor’s eyes widened.
"Holy shit, Pegasus!" Victor looked with wide eyes, and Eleanor smirked. Pegasi were very rare contracted beasts which ranked among the high-tier bracket.
"These three are my summons. You should know how rare they are. And you two also get to ride one of them. Worth it?" Eleanor said with a smirk while looking at Amber and Victor.
"Fair enough," Victor nodded. Amber, on the other hand, also agreed as she did not care about money in the first place.
"I know a safe route to reach the first layer of Lightning Hell. Hop on the Pegasus," Eleanor said as she walked toward one of the Pegasi but was met with silence.
"Huh?" Eleanor frowned when she saw Victor standing there, not moving, with an awkward look on his face.
’Looks like he’s nervous about riding a Pegasus,’ Eleanor’s lips curled upwards as she looked at Victor with a teasing smile. She had faced similar situations in the past.
"What, afraid of falling off the Pegasus while flying?" Eleanor said as she looked at Victor, but Victor looked at her in confusion like she was an idiot.
"No, why would you ask me that?" Victor said to her in confusion.
"Then why are you not riding on the Pegasus?" Eleanor said with a frown on her face, seeing her assumption was wrong.
’Pfft... she thought Master was scared of falling from the Pegasus,’ Amber snickered inwardly as she looked at Victor, which caused his lips to twitch a bit seeing Amber’s facial expression.
"No, I was thinking... could you take me deeper?" Victor said, which caused Eleanor to raise an eyebrow and look at him up and down.
"Sigh, another young master-type noble who thinks he’s some kind of big shot and is overconfident. Damn, I hate these types of customers the most," Eleanor said in a whisper as she rubbed her throbbing temples, it seemed she was considering whether to take them with her.
Both Victor and Amber heard her, and their eyebrows twitched.
"Hey, you know we can hear you, right? You’ll lose customers this way," Victor said with a tone of slight displeasure. He could understand what she meant. He had even faced similar situations when he started out as a player for the first time in his previous world, taking missions for many young master NPC-like people just like Eleanor did.
"Sorry..." Eleanor apologized sheepishly when she realized Victor had heard her.
"Wait, how did you know we are nobles?" Amber asked, completely alert.
"You think just wearing ragged clothes helps? You two are too good-looking, like nobles, along with the way you speak and move. It’s easy to tell you are nobles," Eleanor said as she looked at them with a glint in her eyes.
"..." Amber and Victor were left speechless and embarrassed by her words.
"I can take you to the second layer of Lightning Hell, but it will cost more," Eleanor said.
"No, I need to go deeper," Victor said calmly, which caused Eleanor’s eyebrows to twitch.
"You’re not thinking about going to the third layer of Lightning Hell, right? Let me tell you, not even young masters who want rich experience target it for their first time, and those who did died," Eleanor said.
"No, those are not the ones," Victor said, which caused Eleanor to sigh in relief and relax, but the next moment her body stiffened.
"I want you to take me to the fifth layer of Lightning Hell," Victor said calmly.
