"Not bad. If I fight another horde of beasts, I would reach the peak and get the Tier Advancement Quest," Victor said as he nodded his head in satisfaction.

"Victor, what are you doing standing there in a daze? Quickly get in!" Amber shouted from within the carriage.

Victor looked at her anxious face and stepped inside.

"Hey, wait! Don’t leave us, damn it!" Some of the other survivors who were fighting saw the carriage and rushed toward them to hitch a ride, but Eleanor did not spare them a glance and drove the carriage away.

Kingdom of Eindrik

"AAAHHHH! HELP!"

"Monsters broke out!"

"Someone, please save my child!"

"Damn it, how did so many beasts appear all of a sudden?!"

Victor and the others had arrived at the nearest city across the border. He tried to use the teleportation device, but to no avail, as the mana was still extremely dense and interfering with the device, so they continued traveling by carriage.

As the carriage traveled through the roads, panicked screams pierced the air. All around them, chaos erupted. People ran in every direction, shouting, crying, and begging for help as they desperately tried to flee.

Eleanor wore a grim expression but did not stop, as even though many people had begged them for a ride, she could not afford to halt at all. On the other hand, Victor looked calm, as he had witnessed such scenes many times before, and Amber did not care about anyone other than Victor and herself.

"Dungeon Break..." Victor’s eyes narrowed when he saw a crack suddenly tear open in the sky. From it, hundreds of winged monsters poured out, crackling with electricity.

From his memories, he remembered this phenomenon—when space itself fractured and unleashed monsters that attacked indiscriminately. It was known as a Dungeon Break, which appeared randomly and had occurred many times on Earth. Dungeon Breaks were different from normal dungeons, as monsters inside ordinary dungeons could not leave due to natural restrictions, but Dungeon Breaks had no such limitations.

"Why now...? I have a bad feeling this is because of me," Victor muttered grimly.

According to the records, Dungeon Breaks had only occurred a handful of times in history. Almost every time, the humans in the affected area were completely wiped out. The only exceptions were when the breaks happened in regions filled with powerful Warlocks capable of fighting them back or when the invading monsters were weak.

Woosh—

"Damn it, why is it coming toward us?!" Eleanor cursed when she noticed a strange bird-like creature diving at them. Its speed was terrifying; within a few blinks, it had already closed the distance.

Just as the bird extended its claws and was about to rip out her throat, Eleanor activated the carriage’s defense, and a beam of light struck the creature, disintegrating it instantly.

"The city guards have arrived!"

Victor, who had watched the beam annihilate the bird, heard someone shout. He turned and saw a group of soldiers clad in various equipment charging in and slaughtering the monsters with ease.

"We’re saved!"

"I thought I was going to die today!"

The terrified citizens finally began to calm down as they watched the Rankers effortlessly cut down the beasts. But their relief was short-lived.

"Alright, everyone, we’ve killed all the beasts, you can rela—"

The guard who was reassuring the crowd never finished his sentence. In an instant, his head separated from his neck and flew through the air. The relieved expressions of the crowd twisted into sheer horror at the gruesome sight.

"Captain!" the other guards shouted, their faces pale. Then they looked up—and froze in terror. They could not believe the Captain who was alive a few moments ago would die so suddenly.

From the spatial crack, hundreds more monsters poured out. But this time, it wasn’t the number that frightened them—it was the overwhelming aura they carried with bloodlust.

"Ti... Tier 3 and... gulp... Tier 4..." one of the guards stammered, his voice trembling, before collapsing to the ground in fear.

"RUN, EVERYONE!" another guard roared at the top of his lungs with bloodshot eyes. His voice snapped the frozen crowd out of their paralysis, and they bolted in every direction, running as fast as they could to avoid the disaster.

"Fuck... what kind of situation is this?!" Victor thought, sweat streaming down his forehead as he watched a disk of golden lightning sever a soldier’s head. He never thought he would encounter a Tier 4 beast this early.

[Golden Lightning Two-Headed Eagle]

[Tier: 4]

[Level: 467]

Victor looked at the giant fifty-meter-long bird bathed in golden lightning with a grim expression. He then glanced at Amber, who was gripping his arm tightly and trembling all over with a pale face, her face slick with sweat.

Eleanor gritted her teeth and pushed the carriage’s speed to its absolute limit.

Buzz. Woosh.

"Damn it, why the hell are they chasing us? Can’t they find someone else to chase, what dog shit luck!" Eleanor cried out when she saw over a dozen Tier 3 beasts and the Tier 4 creature closing in on their carriage. She drove frantically, sweat dripping down her forehead as the creatures rapidly narrowed the distance.
