Chapter 126: Ch-: Undead Parents (4)
"You dodged that? Is it because of the new Warlock Bloodline mutation you awakened?" Soreil raised an eyebrow as he looked Victor up and down with interest. He was becoming even greedier to turn Victor into an undead and make him his undead heir. His memories would be invincible at the early and maybe even at the later stages.
"What was that attack?" Victor’s eyes narrowed. He felt that if he had not dodged the attack, he would have been injured.
"Oh, right. This is the Silvernum Swordsmanship skill set. I remember that only the Moonlight Slash had skill books; the rest had to be personally taught by the Patriarch to his heir. I died before teaching you," Soreil said with a smile while looking at Victor as his eyes glinted for a second.
"Complete swordsmanship?" Victor raised an eyebrow.
"If you want to learn it, I can teach you, but you have to become an undead first," Soreil said in a tempting tone, but Victor just sneered at his words.
"No thanks. My bloodline is enough, and I can get the skill after killing you."
Victor lost any remaining warmth for them. They were merely undeads now, not his parents.
"Hmm, let’s first test it. I have taught the swordsmanship to my soldiers as well. All of you, attack!" Victor looked at the Tier 1 enemies who had surrounded him with a calm and indifferent expression.
The Tier 1 undeads launched Moonlight Slashes at him, yet he did not even bother dodging. Even when they were only a few meters away from striking him, he merely looked mockingly at the undead pair who looked at him with surprise .
Both Catherine and Soreil frowned when they noticed that even Edward and Amber appeared calm. Even though Victor had managed to dodge Soreil’s earlier attack, they had attributed it to the speed provided by lightning. They did not think Victor could tank those slashes, as he was also merely Tier 1 like them, but the next moment their eyes widened.
"What?!!!"
Their undead eyes nearly popped out of their sockets when they saw Victor’s head separate from his body and then his body get bisected in half. But what chilled them was that they could still sense he was very much alive. Then they saw both halves of his body raise their hands toward them.
"Multi Purgatory Lightning Serpents!"
Two black lightning serpents shot out from each hand and charged toward them. The speed was so fast that they could barely react.
"Moonlight Steps!"
Soreil activated his technique, and with his Tier 4 stats and refined technique, he managed to dodge. But Catherine was not as lucky, as she was bombarded by the attack.
Bang!
"What kind of Bloodline is this? Is he immune to physical attacks? No, that should not be the case, or else he would not have dodged my attack earlier," Soreil muttered as he watched Victor’s body turn into lightning and rejoin together without any injury.
He then thought, ’Maybe the same or lower-tier attacks simply don’t harm him.’
Catherine’s disheveled and injured figure appeared when the smoke vanished. 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞
"Victor, you have become very impudent. You dare attack your own mother?" She raised her hand as white flames directly enveloped her body, and her injuries healed rapidly.
"Is this your bloodline?" Victor asked with interest.
"Indeed, my unfilial son. This is the Flame Bloodline. Once it turns white, it allows me to heal myself and my allies like this," Catherine said with a smile as she waved her hand and white flames swept over the injured undeads, healing them instantly. "As long as I am alive, every injury your father suffers will be healed."
"I see, but why are you telling me? Isn’t that stupid?" Victor asked.
"Hehe, you’re being cute, my dear son. You are just a Tier 1, and your father is Tier 4. And with me healing him..." Catherine said with a chuckle.
"Sigh, it’s a shame. If you had awakened this Bloodline earlier, then maybe both of you would still be alive, and we could have been a happy family," Victor said with genuine regret.
"I agree with your statement there. Maybe I could have even promoted our Baron status to a Duke," Soreil nodded in acknowledgment.
"He can’t be defeated, my dear son. Just accept becoming an undead, and you will avoid an unnecessary spanking. Then we can still be a family," Catherine tried to persuade him.
"I agree, I am not your match with just my Lightning Bloodline," Victor said, and Catherine’s and Soreil’s eyes lit up. But before they could say anything, Victor continued,
"But I also have my trump cards."
Victor smirked as white armor appeared on his body, and the vegetation nearby started to wither.
"This is troublesome... you just have to run your mouth," Soreil said as he gave Catherine an unimpressed look.
Rumble! Rumble!
The sky started to crackle, and both of them felt an intense sense of danger. Their eyes widened in shock as they saw a giant black lightning axe descending.
"Damn it, quickly use your flames!" Soreil shouted as Catherine hurriedly summoned white flames and coated their bodies.
BOOOOM!
A huge explosion erupted, directly consuming them.
"Damn, what kind of bloodline did my son awaken?" Catherine hissed as both of them felt pain all over their bodies. They were injured, though the wounds were healing at a visible rate.
"So, you really can heal him fast," Victor mumbled as both undeads turned to look at him with wary expressions. Gone was the familiar warmth, now replaced entirely by cold killing intent.
"Why did you doubt my words?" Catherine asked while tilting her head.
"No, I just wanted to see the effect of your healing on him," Victor replied as the aura around him started to rise and lightning crackled violently around his body.
"Looks like we need to be much rougher with you, dear," Catherine said with a malicious smile as she looked at Victor.
