Chapter 93: Ch-: Brewing Trouble (1)
Black Church Base
Commander John was reading a mail he had received, and when his eyes fell on the contents, he broke out in a cold sweat and cursed, "What are those spies in the ducal houses doing? Can’t they even, under such easy conditions, cause a civil war?"
Just as he was cursing, he heard the sound of hurried footsteps and looked at a grunt who was running toward him with a pale, sweaty face. He looked at the grunt and said in an indifferent tone, "What happened?"
"It’s about Captain Callum." As those words fell, he frowned and said sternly, "What happened? Did that guy lose too many troops due to something unexpected, or did he get exposed? Tell him to see me."
"Apologies, Commander, but that’s not possible... Captain Callum’s life tablet has shattered," the soldier said, gulping.
"What? That useless insect... he couldn’t even beat a Tier 0?" Commander John was shocked at first and then spoke with utter disdain. He looked at the soldier and asked, "So, how did he lose?"
"This is the footage we received," the soldier said as he showed the footage.
At first, Commander John watched with interest, seeing so many players with high-quality Warlock Bloodlines and was thinking of recruiting them. But then his calm expression changed when he saw the power of the lightning, and a look of greed appeared on his face as he watched the mechs and defenses of the Silvernum Territory.
John took a deep breath and asked the shocked soldier, "Has anyone else seen the video?"
"N-No... I brought the footage straight to you—argh—" As the soldier was answering, he looked at Commander John in disbelief. John had plunged his hand into his chest, and with a final look of resentment and shock, he fell lifeless to the floor.
"At least that useless bastard did something good before his death. I will get that technology for myself, and if it’s related to a bloodline, I will directly enslave the Warlock," Commander John said with a gleam in his eyes as he watched the power of the mechs with hunger. He could easily tell this was a product of magitech, which even the top blacksmiths of the Black Church had tried but failed to accomplish.
"I will hide the news as long as I can from the other commanders and the leader, and maybe I can eliminate them and present this to the leader later and become the supreme commander," John muttered, then looked at his laptop and sighed. He didn’t even think of betraying the leader—not because he was loyal, but because he was too afraid to provoke him.
"If not for this urgent summon, I would have gathered the army and immediately attacked."
Commander John then destroyed the footage without hesitation and called a soldier, who entered with a panicked expression. His face turned even paler when he saw the dead corpse. John looked at him and said indifferently, "Clean up the trash. I have a meeting to attend at headquarters."
Commander John said this and then ignored the terrified soldier, brought out a crystal orb, and crushed it. In the next second, he was enveloped in white light and vanished from his spot.

"Holy, this is even more powerful and awesome than I imagined," Andrew’s voice came from inside the knight mech he had revived in the Silvernum Territory.
Many of the players were staring enviously at those who had mechs; some of them had even sold their mechs to other players for millions of dollars in the real world.
"Well, I will admit this is really powerful. I think I can reach my previous level before I died even quicker with this," Rachel said while hacking a monster with her mech sword, and at the same time, her undead were also tearing through monsters simultaneously with her.
"Hmm, it would be better if we could buy them directly and equip our guild members with them," Andrew said with a sigh, his voice full of longing.
"Hmm... actually... I talked with an NPC, and he said that these mechs will be for sale," Olivia said in a calm voice.
"What, really?!" Andrew, who heard her words, looked at her with excitement.
"Yes," Olivia replied in calm tone while rolling her eyes at Andrew.
"Then you must quickly hunt more monsters and save up money to equip our entire guild with them. I am sure the other guilds are doing the same," Andrew said in a serious voice as he exited his mech and landed on the ground.
Step Step
Olivia and the others frowned when they saw a small group of soldiers wearing knight were high tier equipment walk toward them while staring at the mechs behind them.
They also noticed the soldiers’ eyes were fixed on the mechs. Andrew felt a bit uneasy as he saw this. "Damn, are these NPCs here to snatch our mechs?" 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞
"Don’t jump to conclusions; let’s first see why they are here... and these knights are dangerous," Olivia said calmly, though she was also nervous, as if they wanted, they could not resist since the NPCs were far stronger.
The NPC guards stopped in front of their group and calmly observed them, which heightened the tension. After a few seconds, one of them said, "Our Miss Hall wants to talk to you all." The guards spoke while looking at the steel behemoths behind them with interest.
"Miss Hall? Who is that?" Rachel asked in confusion.
"Rina Hall, she is the young miss and future heir of the Hall Duchy. She is interested in your... steel weapons; she invites you to discuss these," one soldier said as they pointed at the mechs.
Olivia and the others immediately became cautious but had no option except to follow them helplessly, even if they did not want to.
"Is this how the other lower-ranked families feel when they face our family?" Rachel said with a bitter smile as she followed them.
