Flash Marriage: My Penniless Billionaire Husband
Chapter 91: Do You Know Each Other?
She didn’t expect Denise to be so decisive and swift. She had only thought of it yesterday, but she made it happen today.
From this, it could be seen that she was very capable. Janice couldn’t help but feel respect for the other woman. "Miss Kelshore."
Suddenly, she heard a familiar voice.
Janice and Denise both looked up.
Janice saw Rob Hanson standing in front of them, she couldn’t help but be stunned. <Why is he here?>
Rob was also surprised to see Janice, especially when he saw her with Denise.
He glanced at Denise before finally looking at Janice.
<How did they end up together?>
Rob was surprised.
Denise looked between the two of them and then introduced, "Rob, let me introduce you. This is our show’s new anchor, Janice."
"Janice, this is Rob Hanson, the person in charge of the jewelry brand."
Denise pretended not to know anything and looked back and forth between them.
"The person in charge of the brand?"
"A news anchor?"
Rob and Janice exclaimed almost at the same time.
"Do you know each other?"
Denise asked knowingly.
Janice didn’t say anything, as she was at a loss of what to say.
Rob didn’t answer Denise’s question either.
He had wondered why Janice was with Denise, after listening to Denise’s introduction, he realized that they were actually doing a program together.
This made him break out in a cold sweat.
Was Denise already aware of the relationship between Janice and Mr. Bateman? Rob felt that it was necessary to call the man in question.
"Miss Kelshore, excuse me for a moment."
As he spoke, he glanced at Janice and turned to walk towards the door.
Janice saw Rob leave and seemed to have thought of something. She said, "Director Kelshore, excuse me too."
After that, she also walked in Rob’s direction.
As Denise watched the two of them leave one after the other, her lips curled into a meaningful smile.
"Rob, wait."
Janice caught up.
Rob was about to call Christopher when he heard Janice’s voice. He stopped and turned around.
"What’s the matter, Miss Gladwell?"
Janice stopped in front of Rob, panting, and said, "Rob, can you promise me one thing?"
Rob nodded. "Please speak, Miss Gladwell."
Janice, however, was a little embarrassed. She said, "Can you not tell Christopher about this?"
"Ah?"
Rob didn’t understand.
Janice explained, "It’s regarding me coming with Director Kelshore to get program sponsorship. I hope you can keep it a secret. Don’t tell Christopher."
"I’m afraid I won’t be able to agree to your request," Rob said.
"Why?"
Janice was confused.
Rob said, "I represent the company, and Miss Gladwell represents the TV station. This is work. I have the responsibility to report it to Mr. Bateman."
"You mean this jewelry brand belongs to Christopher?"
Janice was surprised.
Rob said, "It doesn’t exactly belong to Mr. Bateman, but it has a lot to do with him."
Janice was a little confused.
It wasn’t Christopher’s, but it was connected to Christopher, what was going on?
Rob did not continue to explain. Instead, he asked in confusion, "However, I don’t understand. Does Ms. Gladwell not want the sponsorship?"
"Of course I do. I just don’t want to make trouble for him." Janice pursed her lips.
...
Hearing Janice’s words, Rob said to himself, "I’m sure Mr. Bateman won’t think it’s trouble."
However, Rob was more concerned about something else.
He said, "Miss Gladwell, I’ll keep this in mind."
A moment later.
"Where’s Rob?"
Denise asked when she saw that only Janice returned. Rob Hanson was nowhere to be seen.
Janice said, "He said he had something to do so he left first."
Janice was embarrassed to face Denise. She didn’t know if it was because of her that Rob left in such a hurry.
"He didn’t mention anything about the sponsorship?" Denise asked.
Janice shook her head. "Maybe he didn’t have enough time." 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶
This was beyond Denise’s expectations. She had brought Janice along to make use of her relationship with Rob Hanson so that the negotiations would go smoothly. However, she hadn’t expected that she wouldn’t even have the chance to say anything.
She couldn’t help but look at Janice. Did she misread their relationship?
Thinking of this, she asked Janice, "By the way, how did you and Rob Hanson get to know each other?"
Janice paused for a moment and said, "I met him through a mutual friend."
"Friend?"
Denise thought to herself, "Could it be that they aren’t a couple?"
Seeing that Denise didn’t look well, Janice felt a little guilty and asked, "Director Kelshore, did I do something wrong?"
Although Denise had some doubts, she still felt that she had to calm Janice down before the situation was clear.
So, she said, "I don’t think so. He may really have something urgent to do. In this case, we don’t have to wait any longer. Let’s leave and meet another day."
The two of them left the cafe.
In Christopher’s office.
Rob didn’t dare to hide anything. As soon as he returned to the company, he told
Christopher about seeing Janice and Denise.
Christopher didn’t say anything, but just sat there expressionless.
Janice said that she wanted to see a sponsor, but unexpectedly, the sponsor was Rob.
He said, "So, you agreed to cooperate?"
Rob hurriedly said, "How can I decide on my own?"
Christopher paused. "Give her the sponsorship."
"Ah?"
Rob thought he had misheard.
Christopher said, "Since this show is Janice’s, of course I’ll give it to her."
"But, Miss Kelshore..."
Christopher frowned. "What, do you think I am going to give up the opportunity to sponsor my wife just because of Denise’s participation in the show?"
"That’s not what I meant," Rob said hurriedly.
"Go ahead. Remember, don’t let Janice know about this." Christopher instructed.
"Yes."
<Isn’t Mr. Bateman digging his own grave by doing this?
I really don’t understand what he is thinking.>
An hour later, in the same cafe as before.
Rob handed the contract to Denise.
"This is the contract. Miss Kelshore, if you don’t have any objections, please sign it."
Denise was surprised to see the official document.
When she got a call from Rob to meet, she didn’t think that Rob was here to sign the contract.
She took the contract and looked through it. She remembered that before she could talk to Rob about the cooperation, he had already taken the contract.
Could it be because of Janice?
Denise thought about it for a while and felt that this was the only reason. Her lips twitched and she said, "Rob, I didn’t expect you to be so sweet."
Rob didn’t understand what she meant. He simply said, "After Miss Kelshore sign this contract, I hope we can have a good working relationship."
...
Denise replied, "Of course."
After she signed the contract, she thought of something else, "By the way, is there any woman hanging around your boss lately?"
Rob said, "Miss Kelshore, if you want to know, you can ask Mr. Bateman yourself."
Denise did not respond.
Rob took the signed contract and was about to leave.
Then Denise said warmly, "Don’t worry. I’ll take good care of her."
Rob was taken aback. He turned around and looked at Denise in confusion. "Who?"
Denise stood up with a smile. "Of course I’m talking about Janice, I’ll take care of her for your sake. Don’t worry."
Rob’s eyes flashed with a hint of surprise. Suddenly he understood why Denise had said that. It turned out that she had mistaken the relationship between him and Janice.
Rob chuckled to himself, but he did not explain. He simply turned around and left.
Denise got the sponsorship and was so happy that she was beyond words. As soon as she returned to the TV station, she told Janice the good news.
"Janice, I have great news for you. We secured the jewelry brand as our sponsor."
"Really?" Janice was both happy and surprised.
She didn’t expect Rob would agree so readily.
Could it be because of her?
Janice was in a daze as Denise talked about her big plans for the show.
After Denise finished speaking, she looked at Janice and called out her name in a concerned tone.
"Janice?"
It was only then that Janice came to her senses.
Denise said, "This time I must thank you."
Janice didn’t understand. "Director Kelshore, I didn’t do anything."
Denise would naturally not let it slip that it was because of her relationship with Rob Hanson that they had gotten the sponsorship. So she said, "Let’s have dinner tonight to celebrate."
Janice nodded in agreement, but she still felt uneasy.
After Denise left, she thought for a while and decided to call Rob.
"Rob, I heard that you have signed a sponsorship contract with our show." Janice asked.
Rob replied, "That’s right."
"Was it because of me?" Janice asked weakly.
On the other side of the phone, Rob wanted to say that it was indeed because of her, but he thought of Christopher’s previous instructions and said, "Miss Gladwell, this is for business reasons. It has nothing to do with you."
Upon hearing Rob’s words, Janice was relieved.
As long as it was not because of her.
In the evening, Denise invited everyone involved in the show to celebrate.
The whole crew cheered.
Janice didn’t feel very excited. She wanted to go back tonight and celebrate with Christopher instead. After all, the show was about to start, so she was very happy.
But now, it seemed impossible.
She walked to the side and sent a We-Chat message to Christopher, telling him that she might go back late as she had a dinner with the crew.
Christopher frowned when he saw Janice’s message. It seemed that he would have dinner alone tonight.
He frowned and typed a few words in reply. "Don’t drink!"
Janice quickly sent an OK emoji.
Christopher turned off the screen and was about to put away his phone when he received a call from James. He picked it up.
"Chris, come out tonight. See you at the same place. We need to talk." Christopher put down the phone, frowned, and walked out.
In the Club, as soon as Christopher entered the private room, James began to question him.
"Chris, didn’t I ask you not to sponsor Denise Kelshore’s new show? Why are you going back on your word?"
