Chapter 297: Peamah Finds Faye And Malo

Faye and Malo sat on top of Princess’s bonnet in front of the club, both eating double smashed burgers. Malo had a Fanta while Faye drank a fruit beer. They swung their legs over the edge of the metal, the grease from the food soaking through the paper wrappers onto their hands.

Before arriving, they had stopped by a gas station to get food. Time had passed, and they were hungry.

They had even ordered extras.

"So you’re telling me that Asha Police is some Alpha who does everything just to be Princess’s shadow?" Faye asked as she listened to Malo’s stories about Princess and her summer camp adventures. She chewed her food quickly, her eyebrows drawing together as she swallowed.

"And the worst part is that she’s not even close," Malo added. He took a long swig from his orange soda, the carbonation fizzing loudly in the quiet parking lot as he shook his head.

As they talked, Peamah came outside. His eyes scanned the parking lot, searching for the cars they had arrived in.

"Isn’t that Peamah?" Malo asked when he spotted him.

"Peamah, over here!" Faye shouted, waving her hand so he could easily see them.

Peamah heard her and turned. He stopped in his tracks, his large jaw dropping slightly as his eyes focused on the glossy bonnet of the sports car.

To his surprise, the boy they had been searching for all night was sitting beside Faye, happily eating a burger. Malo was just chilling there, chewing away without a single scratch on his face, looking perfectly fine.

He walked over, staring at the boy. His heavy chest rose and fell with a deep, rumbling breath, his eyes narrowing as he took in the peaceful scene.

"Why aren’t you dead or at least looking dead?" was the first thing Peamah said. He stopped right in front of the bumper, crossing his massive arms over his chest as he glared up at Malo.

"Did you expect him to be dead?" Faye asked.

"Maybe not, but he doesn’t look like someone who was sold off or dressed up as a beautiful girl. There are so many dudes in there wearing funny gowns. I expected him to look like one of them."

Both Faye and Malo stared at him. Their mouths were full of bread and meat, their chewing slowing down at the exact same time.

What the fuck?

"Are you okay, Peamah?" Faye asked. She set her beer down on the metal hood, her expression shifting into pure confusion.

"No, I’m not. I spent all night with you, and the main subject is out here enjoying himself with double smashed meat. Where are the bad guys I’m supposed to beat up or kill?" He threw his hands up, his lungs expanding with a sharp, angry huff as he looked around the empty parking spaces.

"Peamah, that’s enough. Do you want a burger? I have another one here," Faye offered. She reached into the brown paper bag between her knees, pulling out the extra wrapper that was still radiating heat.

"Yes... please." His voice dropped instantly, the hard line of his mouth softening as his nostrils flared at the scent of the cheese.

He took the burger, leaned against another car, and started eating.

"Look, Faye, he wants me dead. I still don’t like this guy," Malo muttered. He leaned his shoulder closer to Faye’s, his voice dropping into a frantic whisper as he kept his eyes locked on the giant dude eating across from them.

"You have to. He’s one of us now." Faye said simply, taking another casual sip of her fruit beer.

"No, I’m not. I will never be one of you people. Your group is dumb. One goes missing and comes back completely untouched while the others are inside wasting themselves on alcohol.... You can’t imagine what’s inside that club, Sire. Naked ladies and guys everywhere. Your Alpha is gone." Peamah spoke as if he were painting a picture. He pointed his half eaten burger toward the entrance, his teeth bared slightly as he shook his head.

"W-what do you mean naked ladies and my Alpha gone? What is Princess doing with naked ladies?" Faye’s voice cracked, her posture locking up instantly. Her fingers dug deep into the soft bread of her food, her heart hammering against her ribs as a wave of possessive heat hit her chest.

"Hey, the burger is already smashed enough. Don’t make it worse," Malo said, looking at the way she was assaulting the poor thing. He reached out, gently tapping her wrist to try and get her to loosen her grip before she completely ruined their breakfast-lunch.

Then he turned to Peamah.

"Hey, did you actually see naked girls with Princess?" Malo asked.

Malo tried not to make the situation worse before Faye stormed into the club and tore apart every woman she found near her Alpha. He knew exactly how crazy Faye could get when it came to her girl, and the last thing they needed was a war inside a high end lounge.

"No. Unlike the other Alphas, yours is just drunk and wasted, singing like some broken toy." Peamah cleared up the misunderstanding. He took another massive bite of his burger, totally unbothered by the mini heart attack he had just caused.

Faye immediately relaxed and rearranged her burger before taking another bite.

"Next time, think before you speak," Malo said. He glared at the bigger boy, his confidence returning now that Faye was calm again.

"Are you speaking to me with that tone?" Peamah asked, glaring at him. He stopped chewing, his eyes narrowing as he stared at the boy.

Malo widened his eyes, trying not to look intimidated. He swallowed hard, his throat moving tightly as he forced himself to stay upright on the car bonnet.

"Yes, I am... you big head."

Peamah placed his burger on the bonnet and grabbed Malo right off the car. His huge hands locked around the fabric of Malo’s jacket, lifting him up into the air with a single, smooth pull that left the boy’s legs dangling in space.

"Maybe I should smash you. Then you’ll actually look like someone who’s been through hell," he threatened. His voice was low and gravelly, his face inches away from Malo’s nose.

"Peamah, put him down and in one piece," Faye said without even looking at them. She kept her eyes on her food, taking a long sip of her beer as if nothing unusual was happening right next to her.

Immediately, he obeyed. The heavy grip loosened instantly.

He gently set Malo back down before returning to his burger.

Malo was terrified on the inside but kept a straight face. He refused to look scared after being lifted like a sheet of paper. He quickly smoothed down the front of his wrinkled jacket, his chest heaving with short, quiet breaths as he slid back into his spot on the car.

"Faye, please don’t ever leave my side..." he muttered to his friend. He didn’t move an inch away from her arm, his eyes glued to Peamah’s massive jaw for the rest of the meal.
