Because of that, Gwen had unknowingly developed a deep inferiority complex over the years.

Mr. Crow clicked his tongue softly inside Lana’s mind.

"Now I finally understand," he muttered thoughtfully. "Even after becoming this beautiful and this talented, she still carries overwhelming insecurity inside her heart."

Lana quietly looked toward Gwen.

The sadness in her eyes made Lana’s chest tighten slightly.

Without hesitation, Lana suddenly snatched the phone away from her hands.

Gwen blinked in confusion.

Meanwhile, Lana stared dramatically at the certificates displayed on the screen before widening her eyes exaggeratedly.

"Seriously?" she exclaimed loudly. "I barely managed to master English properly, and aside from that, I don’t know any other languages."

Then she pointed accusingly toward Gwen.

"But you know so many languages! You’re ridiculously smart!"

The moment she heard the word "smart," Gwen immediately became flustered.

A faint blush spread across her cheeks as she hurriedly waved her hands.

"No, no... it’s not that impressive," she muttered awkwardly. "You’re exaggerating too much."

Lana immediately looked offended.

"How is this exaggeration?" she protested dramatically.

Then, without giving Gwen a chance to escape, she continued praising her nonstop.

"You have language certificates. You have excellent grades. You’re beautiful. You’re talented. You even managed to survive your toxic family without turning into a villain. That’s honestly impressive."

Every time Gwen tried to deny the compliments, Lana would simply praise her even harder.

She secretly used all the top-tier flattering skills she had perfected throughout both her lives.

By the end of it, Gwen’s entire face had turned red from embarrassment.

Yet at the same time, the smile on her face had become brighter and brighter.

Eventually, Gwen was practically grinning from ear to ear.

She honestly could not remember the last time someone praised her this openly and sincerely.

Seeing her finally smiling happily, Lana chuckled softly.

"My talented lady," she teased playfully, "by now you should proudly post all these achievements online."

Gwen immediately shook her head nervously.

"What if people think I’m showing off?"

Without another word, Lana directly took Gwen’s phone from her hands.

Then, before Gwen could react, she uploaded several photos of Gwen’s certificates and achievements onto her social media moments.

The caption read: "Sister-in-law’s achievements."

The moment Gwen saw those words, her eyes widened completely.

She immediately turned toward Lana in utter shock.

Meanwhile, Lana innocently shrugged.

"What can I do?" she said teasingly. "Someone refuses to let me use her real name."

The moment she heard that, Gwen’s cheeks instantly burned red again.

"W-Who agreed to become your sister-in-law?!" she protested shyly.

Despite her embarrassed complaints, however, Gwen secretly felt as though her heart had been dipped into warm honey.

Meanwhile, outside the room, James stood frozen near the door.

Earlier, right after Lana entered Gwen’s room, she had secretly sent him a message telling him to listen carefully.

She had even intentionally used a tiny trace of spiritual energy to prevent the door from fully locking.

Because of that, James had heard almost everything.

Every word Gwen spoke felt like a hammer striking directly against his chest.

Only now did he finally realize how deeply his actions had hurt her.

Eventually, after standing outside silently for a long time, he finally pushed the door open and stepped inside.

Both Gwen and Lana turned toward him in surprise.

Especially Lana.

The moment she saw him entering, she almost had the urge to smack this idiot directly on the head.

’You really listened to everything shamelessly, and still decided to enter at the wrong moment?’

She was already preparing herself for Gwen to become angry again.

Unexpectedly, Gwen remained calm.

Instead, she quietly looked toward James and said, "We need to talk."

James nodded seriously.

Seeing both of them finally acting maturely, Lana wisely chose not to interfere further.

Without another word, she stood up quietly.

Before leaving, she even thoughtfully closed and locked the door behind her.

Once outside, Mr. Crow lazily floated beside her.

"What do you think will happen in the end?" he asked curiously.

Lana thought quietly for a moment before answering.

"If James is smart enough, then after today he should finally realize his mistakes and slowly work on fixing them without hurting Gwen again."

Then her expression became calmer.

"But if he still refuses to change..." she sighed softly, "...then Gwen would honestly be better off leaving him."

Hearing those words, Mr. Crowe rolled his eyes dramatically.

"If I didn’t know better, I would’ve thought you were part of some invincible women’s alliance."

Lana immediately burst into laughter.

"What can I do?" she admitted shamelessly. "I’m naturally a little biased toward girls."

With that, she leisurely returned toward her own room.

However, what Lana did not know was that the conversation happening inside Gwen’s room afterward became far more serious than expected.

Inside the room, silence filled the air briefly.

James stood there awkwardly while staring toward Gwen.

After hearing everything earlier, Gwen had originally wanted to end their relationship completely.

In fact, before Lana arrived, she had almost made up her mind already.

Yet somehow, after calming down, her anger no longer felt as overwhelming as before.

James slowly clenched his fists before speaking honestly.

"I understand now," he said quietly. "This was my mistake."

His voice carried genuine guilt.

"I thought saying sorry immediately would fix things, but now I realize that a simple apology isn’t enough."

Gwen silently listened.

James took a deep breath.

"How about this?" he continued carefully. "I’ll seriously work on changing myself. Give me some time... and if I still fail afterward, then you can decide whether you want to leave me."

Gwen quietly lowered her gaze.

Honestly, she had already softened considerably.

Especially after realizing that James truly was emotionally dense rather than malicious.

After hesitating for a long while, she finally sighed softly.

"You know..." she muttered, "...I really was planning to break up with you."

James immediately stiffened nervously.

"But..." Gwen continued slowly, "...there is actually something I’ve started liking recently."

James instantly looked hopeful again.
