Giant Dragon Lord: Starting from Daily Intelligence
Chapter 331 - 318: Domain Level Giant Puppet
The anticipated earth-shattering tremor never came.
The Giant Puppet on the far left, its eyes flashing red a few times, raised a metal arm with a grating CREAK.
Then, as everyone watched with bated breath, the arm stopped halfway. With a FZZT, the red light in its eyes died out completely.
The Puppet froze in place, motionless.
Immediately after, the red light in the eyes of the Puppet next to it had just begun to glow when a puff of black smoke billowed from the Energy Source in its chest. With a loud BANG, its entire chest cavity blew open, and countless rusted parts CLATTERED to the floor.
Of the remaining eight, five went completely inert before their eyes could even fully light up. The other three simply fell apart, their towering bodies collapsing into useless piles of scrap metal.
A thousand years was a more terrifying Corrosive Potion than any enemy.
The Energy Cores and components of these ultimate weapons, which used Magic Cores as their Energy Source, had long since failed over the long centuries.
Sun King Amun Ra, the former monarch—his final trump card had failed.
An awkward atmosphere filled the air.
Amun Ra’s blazing eyes seemed to freeze for a moment at this unexpected turn of events.
"ROAR!"
The Golden Dragon Sun was not about to let this opportunity pass.
It and the Starfall Knight charged forward again, launching a ferocious assault on the isolated king who had just lost his final trump card.
Having lost the absolute suppression of his Domain and already suffering from grievous wounds, Amun Ra’s situation deteriorated rapidly.
He was on the defensive, struggling to fend off the pincer attack from the Giant Dragon and the Starfall Knight. The number of wounds on his body steadily increased.
Raylo’s eyes never left the battlefield.
Amun Ra summoned all his strength, parrying the Starfall Knight’s strike with his Golden Greatsword. The immense Power forced him backward, and for a split second, the back of his neck was completely exposed.
Raylo’s figure slowly faded as silent ripples of Space Magic spread out.
In the blink of an eye.
Raylo’s figure appeared ten meters behind Amun Ra.
No wasted movements, no flashy techniques.
He simply swung the Divine Weapon Broken Flow.
A silent ripple of Sword Qi detached from Broken Flow’s blade. Like a faint ripple on the surface of the water, it cut through space in an instant and swept across Amun Ra’s neck.
Time seemed to stand still.
Amun Ra’s movements froze.
The next second, his proud head, wreathed in golden Flame, separated cleanly from his body and shot into the air.
The head tumbled through the air. The Soul Fire in its eyes, deprived of the body’s energy supply, rapidly dimmed and flickered before finally going out like a candle in the wind.
CLANG. 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖
The headless golden body toppled over, and the Golden Greatsword in its hand fell to the ground with a loud, ringing crash.
With Amun Ra’s final death, the Solar Domain that had enveloped the entire tomb chamber instantly collapsed and dissipated.
The searing heat receded, and the hall returned to its original cold, deathly stillness.
The battle that spanned a millennium had finally come to an end.
CLANG... CLANG...
With their master gone, the once-menacing Undead Knights became like puppets whose strings had been cut. The last embers of Soul Fire in their eyes flickered out, and their heavy Armor dragged their withered bones to the ground, one after another, until only piles of true scrap metal remained.
"Phew..."
Raylo let out a long sigh of relief.
He sheathed his Divine Weapon, Broken Flow, and surveyed the wreckage-strewn millennial tomb.
Raylo patted the golden scales of the Sun beside him, his gaze falling upon the ten silent Giant Puppets behind the throne.
The recent fiasco was still fresh in his mind, but Raylo knew the value of these war machines was far greater than it seemed.
He walked over to inspect them more closely.
There were ten Giant Puppets, each thirty meters tall. Some had massive holes blown through their chests, their broken and damaged Magic Circuits exposed in a tangled mess. Others had joints that were either rusted shut or destroyed, leaving them frozen in bizarre poses. Still others were nothing more than piles of scattered parts, unable to maintain even a basic form.
However, when Raylo walked up to the only Giant Puppet that had almost activated properly, his eyes lit up.
Though its surface was scarred by the passage of time, the Puppet’s overall structure was surprisingly intact.
He reached out, touching its cold metal shell and sensing the precise, complex structure within.
’It’s just that the Magic Core that serves as its energy supply has completely failed.’
Raylo concluded.
’This Puppet... if I can find a suitable Magic Core, it will roar to life once more.’
"Time to get to work, Coal Ball."
Raylo pointed at the ten behemoths.
"Pack them all up. Don’t leave the broken ones behind; we can salvage them for parts."
Coal Ball blinked, as if estimating the volume of all this scrap metal.
It hopped off Raylo’s shoulder and opened its mouth, a black hole appearing within.
A powerful suction pulled at the most intact Giant Puppet. It wobbled for a moment before being sucked whole into the vortex, disappearing from sight.
Then, one by one, Coal Ball swallowed the dismantled and damaged Puppets, along with all the scattered parts on the ground.
"Sir, there’s a room over here!"
Ed had discovered a stone door in one of the main chamber’s walls.
