Global Game: I Have Portable Store
Chapter 665 - 21: Heretic
"I suspected this was a scam, tricked into coming here, damn high-level players."
"Actually, I’ve also met other players before, and they were in the same situation, some even stuck here for decades. I’m relatively lucky, only been here for a few years."
"We’re all trapped here, you understand? This damn, disgusting world, our power is severely restricted here, as pathetic as ordinary people."
The man wearing a silver mask grew more frenzied as he spoke, emotions reaching an extreme, body constantly trembling.
Su Changxing heard something different in his words; he was also limited by the perceptual shielding of this world, thinking it was this world that restrained his power.
If it weren’t for his perceptual ability being strong enough and possessing "True Knowledge," he might also believe it was this world restraining his power.
But looking at it this way, his luck was indeed good. Many players were trapped in this world, unable to find the Ninth Dimension’s tunnel, thus remaining here.
And he had just arrived in this world and found the tunnel fragment, already knowing how to leave.
With eyes filled with sympathy, Su Changxing looked at the other: "Alright, since you’re so cooperative, I can let you off, just hand over the black coins on you and you can go."
The man with the silver mask showed confusion, stepping back two steps: "Black coins, what black coins? What are you talking about?"
He was lying.
Su Changxing instantly sensed it, merely judging from his expression and movements.
He was all too familiar with the act of lying.
But before he could say anything, the man in the silver mask seemed to notice, and shouted, "Why must you force me, why? Can’t you just leave me be?"
Something was wrong.
The pupils in the mask turned into streams of silver liquid sliding down his cheeks, his entire body swelling violently, half bursting and splattering across the deck, full of black water and flesh.
Suicide?
No, not yet.
Su Changxing drew a firearm and shot at his body, bullets creating one hollow after another upon impact.
His body continued to swell rapidly and violently, then affected the deck below.
The deck turned silver, then black, like some kind of flowing metal.
Pirates on the deck fell in, being devoured one by one, screaming in terror.
"What’s happening!"
"Save me!"
Some struggled to jump into the sea, but were glued to the ship halfway down.
The entire ship seemed to instantly transform into a monster that devoured people.
As for that player, he had already been consumed by this monster, or rather, he was the monster, devouring himself.
"Madman!"
Su Changxing cursed, retreating onto the Horror Ghost Ship, "I just wanted some black coins, as if I was asking for your life."
He had sensed something wrong with this person earlier, not because of him, but because it was inherently wrong.
It was just that perception was blocked, he couldn’t see clearly.
The Horror Ghost Ship retreated, distancing itself from the ship that had become a monster, with not a single person alive on board, all empty, without even a body in sight.
Kasmin approached from behind, looking grave, "This is a heretic! Though they possess great power, they are monsters themselves, turning into mindless creatures and then destroying everything."
"That’s why the Empire wanted to kill all heretics, before they transform into monsters."
Su Changxing frowned, not sure where the problem lay, it wasn’t in the Extraordinary nor the players’ fault.
Is it this world’s problem?
When players came to this world, problems arose, like two reactive chemical components that immediately react upon contact.
That player seemed unaware of this problem, or he knew but deliberately concealed it.
Such extreme emotional changes are fatal to the Extraordinary, breaking the job’s balance, leading to losing control, but wouldn’t turn into such monsters.
The Extraordinary in this world appeared stable, like a triangle, stable yet constrained, behaving like ordinary people.
Su Changxing decided it was best to gather black coins quickly and head to the Ninth Dimension, staying too long in this world seemed problematic.
Looking from afar, the ship had lost its shape, looking like sludge, fluctuating between silver and black, with parts occasionally boiling or vibrating rapidly like water waves.
It rolled on the water’s surface, slowly moving towards them, seemingly with consciousness.
"Seeing ghosts!"
Weilian had long turned the ship’s wheel to flee in the opposite direction, always decisive in fleeing, even without Su Changxing’s prompt.
Su Changxing turned and said, "Don’t go too far, let’s observe from a distance."
He noted the monster’s size was reducing, also constantly submerging in the water.
It was being restrained, by the sea, the sky, this world.
The monster’s power definitely exceeded that of a Great Wizard, terrifying beyond measure, even Su Changxing felt his scalp tingling.
Yet its existence seemed not recognized by this world, everything in this world was like poison to it, continually diminishing its power.
For a moment, Su Changxing seemingly saw something disgusting, indescribable, only feeling his stomach churn and dizziness.
Everywhere in the surrounding space seemed filled with something, red, pale red, dark red, even blackish red.
He sat down on the deck, eyes bloodshot, gasping for breath.
Kasmin saw his unease, hurriedly squatting down to ask, "What’s wrong with you! Are you alright?"
Su Changxing took a breath, waved off, "Nothing much, that monster needs to be dealt with!"
He had Weilian bring the ship a little closer, then raised the firearm to shoot at the shape-shifting mass.
Some bullets deflected, others sunk into it, disappearing.
He maintained a steady shooting rhythm, continuously firing, as the monster shrank, clouds of black mist exploded, revealing a mass of flesh, intestines, seemingly parts of the pirates’ bodies.
More black mist erupted, as pieces of metal, wooden blocks, and ship fragments sprayed out.
A gurgling sound emanated from the monster’s body.
It seemed to say something, but Su Changxing couldn’t understand, nor feel any emotion in it.
With the seventy-second bullet, it pierced something, exploding a large spray of blood.
The player’s half-distorted face emerged, eyes open, staring intently at him, emitting a hoarse voice:
"Killing a player like me, you’ll get black coins... I didn’t want this either, not sure when it invaded my mind. Be careful, stranger..."
