Grinding EXP From Fireball Skill
Chapter 196: Tyr’s Arrival
Li Wei looked at his strong, powerful arms and smiled.
Even without Mana, he wasn’t a complete weakling anymore.
Moreover, he had made an unexpected gain.
Due to the exclusionary nature of Extraordinary Powers, Li Wei couldn’t cultivate Fighting Spirit.
Logically, this should have also prevented him from cultivating the Rock Breathing Method to the Small Success Level.
But the cultivation panel had forced a breakthrough.
Even so, he still didn’t have any Fighting Spirit.
Fighting Spirit was the foundation that allowed a Knight Professional’s physique to surpass that of an ordinary person.
Li Wei, however, had a similar foundation.
A fundamental Extraordinary Power.
What supported his powerful body wasn’t Fighting Spirit, but the Fire Element.
When the Rock Breathing Method broke through and strengthened his body, the source of Extraordinary Power it drew from was his Fire Elemental Body.
This caused the Fire Element to fuse even further with Li Wei’s body.
Half-Elementalization became much easier.
With a little practice, Li Wei found he could now elementalize half of his body.
This was a pleasant surprise.
It was enough to elementalize all the vital spots on his body.
He was now immune to attacks on his vitals.
And as it turned out, the effect of elementalizing vital parts was sometimes better than one could imagine.
Some particularly insidious abilities specifically targeted vital spots.
For example, the Heart-Picking ability Lair had used on the destitute nobleman.
He didn’t truly pluck out another’s heart.
A normal person obviously couldn’t survive having their heart removed.
He merely left a sliver of Power inside the body of the person he controlled.
This Power could kill the victim’s heart at any moment.
The control item, a manifestation of this Power, looked like a shrunken, glass heart.
If Li Wei were ever subjected to "Heart-Picking," he could just elementalize his heart, rendering the enemy’s technique useless.
However, elementalizing the heart involved many factors.
It was very difficult for Li Wei to elementalize a single organ.
Unlike the brain, the heart also had to pump blood.
Blood flowed in and out of the heart, circulating throughout the body.
In other words, after elementalizing the heart, the blood flowing in and out of it would also have to be elementalized.
Then, the blood flowing out of the heart would have to turn back into normal blood.
This created a dynamic process, far more difficult than simple Elementalization.
The brain also involved some blood circulation.
However, after the head was elementalized, it no longer needed blood to supply oxygen and energy.
His body was another story. Since it wasn’t fully elemental, it still required blood circulation for energy.
It was difficult to do, but at least it was an option in a crisis.
When it came down to it, he would choose to save his own life, even if it meant injuring himself.
After all, Li Wei could still tell the difference between being injured and being dead.
Li Wei turned and walked away from the window.
He caught a glimpse of a figure out of the corner of his eye and stopped, his heart freezing over.
He quickly turned his head to look.
Tyr had actually appeared at the entrance of the Mage Tower.
He was walking into the Mage Tower.
In an instant, Li Wei broke out in a cold sweat.
’What is he doing here?’
With a guilty conscience, Li Wei’s first thought was that he had been exposed.
A moment later, he calmed down.
Seeing that Tyr’s expression was normal, Li Wei realized the man wasn’t here for him.
If he knew the killer was in the Mage Tower, he definitely wouldn’t look so relaxed.
Li Wei thought for a moment, then cast the Illusion Technique, creating an Illusory Body that he sent walking outside.
He wanted to get a closer look at Tyr.
Until now, he had only observed the man from a distance.
He had never seen him in person or greeted him face-to-face.
The Illusory Body, of course, did not look like Li Wei.
Li Wei simply had it take the form of an Apprentice Mage from the Mage Tower whom he recognized.
Tyr stood in the main hall of the Mage Tower, with Leviedan at his side.
Leviedan looked at him with a fawning expression. "Grand Mage Tyr, what brings you to the Mage Tower? If you had told me beforehand, I could have arranged a proper welcome for you."
The others nearby were disgusted by the sight.
They couldn’t even bear to look at him.
Although they also wanted to build a connection with Tyr and get closer to him...
...they wouldn’t stoop so low.
’And what was that about having the Mage Tower welcome Tyr?’
’Where did that put the Mage Tower?’
’Wasn’t that just willingly acting like a slave?’
Tyr ignored Leviedan’s words. He said, "Where is Delis? Have her come see me."
Hearing this, Leviedan froze for a moment before quickly recovering. "Yes, of course. I’ll have her come see you at once."
He had no idea who Delis was.
But since Tyr had mentioned her, she must be here.
Leviedan hurried off to find Delis.
Li Wei’s Illusory Body stood in the crowd, a confused look on its face.
’Why is Tyr looking for Delis?’
’Wait, could this have something to do with Arnold?’
Li Wei remembered something: Arnold was apparently Delis’s father.
’Could Tyr be planning to use Delis to threaten Arnold into doing his bidding?’
’But didn’t he already use Arnold to enter the Dream World yesterday?’
Li Wei was unaware of the deal between Tyr and Arnold.
Before long, Leviedan returned, leading a nervous and worried Delis to Tyr.
Leviedan spoke rudely to Delis, "Hurry up! Grand Mage Tyr is waiting for you!"
"When you see Grand Mage Tyr, say what you need to say. Don’t make me spell it out for you."
"Yes, Mage Leviedan. I understand."
Delis was also extremely nervous. She didn’t know why Tyr wanted to see her.
She had no idea that her father was the deputy leader of the Black Cultists.
Seeing Leviedan bossing Delis around, Tyr called out softly, "Delis, your father entrusted me to look after you."
Upon hearing this, Leviedan froze in place, dumbfounded.
’What was going on?’
Delis was surprised. She quickly asked, "Grand Mage Tyr, you’ve seen my father? I haven’t seen him for seven days. Where is he?"
Tyr said, "You don’t need to worry about your father. He’s fine right now."
"As per my agreement with your father, I will take you as my apprentice."
"Do you accept?"
Delis stood there in a daze, unsure how to react.
It felt like a giant pie had fallen from the sky and knocked her senseless.
Leviedan’s eyes were wide and his jaw hung open in disbelief.
His hands were trembling.
’What have I just done?’
’How dare I lecture Mage Tyr’s disciple?’
Tyr asked Delis again.
Delis finally snapped out of it. She quickly bowed and said, "I am willing to become Grand Mage Tyr’s disciple."
Tyr chuckled. "Still calling me Grand Mage?"
"Teacher."
Delis quickly corrected herself.
Tyr smiled and patted Delis’s head, then took a Magic Staff from his Spatial Ring and handed it to her.
"This is a gift for our first meeting. It’s inscribed with the Wind Blade Technique and can be used three times without Mana."
"After you use them up, you can recharge it to use it again."
"Take good care of it."
Delis gripped the Magic Staff, her face alight with excitement.
"Is... is this really for me?"
A Magic Staff inscribed with Magic was no cheap item.
Even an Official Mage might not necessarily own one.
Only someone like Tyr could give one away so casually.
