Grinding EXP From Fireball Skill
Chapter 206: Upgrading the Invisibility Cloak
Li Wei returned to the Mage Tower.
The Shadow Attendant returned moments after him.
It also brought back the Shooter’s coin purse.
Li Wei glanced at it before storing it in his Spatial Ring.
There wasn’t much money, only a dozen or so Gold Coins.
"Shadow Attendant, go keep an eye on the Reinstein Clan’s entrance. See if Tyr has returned."
"Yes, Master."
The Shadow Attendant headed outside.
Li Wei took stock of the spoils in his Spatial Ring.
A Giant Python Hide, eight Tier Three Magic Cores, eleven Tier Two Magic Cores, five stalks of Dragon’s Blood Grass, three Dragon Scale Flowers, and one Dragon Blood Tree.
There were also a few pieces of equipment from Knight and Warrior Professionals: Armor, a Great Sword, and a Shield.
Everything was from the battle with the Dragon Scale Ancient Tree.
Selling off the miscellaneous items should fetch one or two hundred Gold Coins.
’Toiling away on quests is slow. Arson and robbery are much faster ways to make money.’
’But this equipment is too hot to handle right now. There’s no way to sell it off.’
These items all belonged to the Reinstein Clan.
They even had the Reinstein Clan’s sigil on them.
If Li Wei dared to sell them, his identity would be exposed the very next day.
He’d have to wait a while before fencing the goods.
Or he could take them to another city to sell.
’Right, didn’t Teacher Gu Ze say some traveling merchants would be coming to Maple City?’
An idea sparked in Li Wei’s mind. Perhaps he could offload these troublesome stolen goods onto the traveling merchants.
Traveling merchants wouldn’t care if the goods were stolen.
The origins of the things they sold weren’t always legitimate, either.
A typical example would be encountering bandits on the road, killing them all, and then selling the loot as new merchandise in the next city.
Having figured out how to deal with the miscellaneous items, Li Wei turned his thoughts to the more precious goods, like the Dragon’s Blood Grass.
Converting these items into combat strength was, naturally, more important than selling them for money.
’Should I use them to make Magic Potions?’
Li Wei glanced at his Alchemy Level.
It wasn’t out of the question.
After a moment of thought, he made his decision.
He would go to the library and look through Alchemy materials to see what he could craft with the Dragon’s Blood Grass and Dragon Scale Flowers.
’A Giant Strength Potion? What would I do with that?’
’A Powerful Life Recovery Potion. Hmm, this is good. I can use it to save my life.’
’A Potential Activation Potion, to boost my combat power. Also a good thing.’
Unfortunately, Li Wei couldn’t find any Magic Potion recipes that could directly increase his strength.
He figured such precious Magic Potion recipes wouldn’t be stored in a public place like the library.
Li Wei had also figured out a use for the Giant Python Hide.
He left the Mage Tower and went to the Professional Association.
"Hello, I’d like to see Master Troska."
"Tell him Li Wei is here to see him."
"Of course, please wait a moment."
After waiting for a short while in the Professional Hall, Willie came out to lead Li Wei into the backyard.
Li Wei glanced at the guards by the door and thought, ’Having to go through this every time is such a hassle.’
’It would be so much better if I had a membership badge.’
’Even a Black Iron Level one, the lowest rank.’
However, obtaining a membership badge from the Professional Association was not easy.
One either had to make a significant Contribution to the Professional Association...
...or be so famous that the Professional Association would offer a badge proactively.
Clearly, Li Wei met neither condition.
Li Wei had a strong reputation as a genius.
But it was limited to Maple City and the Mage Association.
The Professional Association didn’t pay much mind to his reputation as a genius Mage.
Potential, after all, was just potential.
If it had been Armor, perhaps the Professional Association would have proactively offered a membership badge.
Armor was different from Li Wei.
The former was a genius Mage who had already matured.
Arriving at Troska’s smithy.
Li Wei saw Troska unexpectedly lying in the yard, basking in the Sun.
Willie asked, a little curious, "What did you do to my father? After he came back from your place last time, he’s become... more relaxed."
He had originally wanted to say "lazy."
Troska sat up and chuckled. "Li Wei, what brings you here?"
Li Wei smiled. "Can’t I come see you if there’s nothing I need?" 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖
"Heh, you’re not the type to make social calls," Troska laughed.
Li Wei nodded, taking out the Invisibility Cloak and the giant python hide.
"Can you help me enhance this piece of equipment?"
Troska picked up the hide to examine it, saying with some surprise, "What Magic Beast’s hide is this? It’s incredibly tough."
"It’s the hide of a Dragon Blood Species giant python," Li Wei replied.
"No wonder. It seems this hide’s Magic Resistance isn’t bad either."
Troska glanced at the Invisibility Cloak in Li Wei’s hands and gestured for Willie to take it.
Li Wei handed the Invisibility Cloak to Willie.
Troska said, "Enhancing the equipment is no problem, but I’ll have to charge you."
Li Wei hadn’t expected to get it for free.
Having a Master Blacksmith help enhance equipment wasn’t just a matter of money.
Li Wei was already very happy that Troska was willing to help.
"No problem. How much will it be?" Li Wei asked.
Troska said casually, "We’ll settle the bill after the enhancement is done."
"Right, do you have the Demon Core from this Magic Beast?"
Li Wei took out a Demon Core, asking in confusion, "What’s the Demon Core for?"
"It would be a waste to just use the hide to enhance the Invisibility Cloak’s defense. With a Demon Core, we can also improve its Invisibility effect."
"Then I’ll leave it in your hands, Master."
"Come pick it up tomorrow afternoon."
Troska took the items and walked deeper into the yard.
Li Wei was a little surprised. He hadn’t expected it to be so fast.
"Alright."
As he walked out of the Professional Association, a dark figure merged into his shadow.
"Tyr has returned."
Li Wei received the news from the Shadow Attendant.
He was slightly disappointed.
But not very surprised.
As a Grand Mage, Tyr certainly wouldn’t be short on life-saving measures.
A surprise attack wouldn’t necessarily be enough to kill him.
At most, it would force him to use one of those life-saving measures.
That, in itself, was a good thing.
Li Wei returned to the Mage Tower to begin his daily Cultivation.
At night, he monitored Tyr within the dream realm.
Tonight, Tyr still didn’t enter a dream.
Li Wei was a little curious about what he was thinking.
If this kept up, he wouldn’t be able to weaken Tyr’s power in the Dream World.
In the middle of the night, Li Wei was practicing Magic.
Suddenly, he noticed Tyr appear in the dreamscape.
Li Wei’s expression flickered. He was just about to pull him into the third layer of the dream.
But then he discovered that Tyr had already been pulled into a Dream Bubble.
He revealed a look of astonishment.
’What’s going on?’
Li Wei observed carefully, only to find that the Dream Bubble had already vanished.
’It’s hidden itself. It looks like something’s wrong with Tyr.’
Li Wei frowned.
The next day, Li Wei went to the Professional Association to pick up his equipment.
Troska handed him the enhanced Invisibility Cloak.
"This Invisibility Cloak has been enhanced to Tier Three, Top Grade."
"Its Invisibility effect is now on par with a Tier Three Invisibility Technique. Detection Magic below Tier Three won’t be able to spot you."
A look of pleasant surprise appeared on Li Wei’s face.
"This... Thank you so much, Master."
Troska laughed. "Don’t get too happy yet. The enhancement fee isn’t cheap."
Li Wei’s expression stiffened slightly.
"How much?"
As Li Wei walked out of the Professional Association, he wore a pained expression.
Enhancing the Invisibility Cloak had cost one thousand four hundred Gold Coins.
There was no discount for labor or materials; it was even more expensive than crafting the Source Heart Necklace.
In terms of value, a piece of Tier Three Top Grade Magic Equipment was certainly worth at least that much.
Li Wei didn’t have the cash, so he ended up trading seven Tier Three Magic Cores to cover the cost.
