Chapter 19: 19. Legolas.

Days passed and right now, we take a look at the study of Rowena’s mansion, which was a wide and well-kept room.

Several wooden shelves were lined from wall to wall, and each shelf was stacked with books, scrolls, and other important documents.

There was also a large desk that stood at the centre of the room with several parchments spread across its surface.

Two chairs had also been pulled together on one side of it, where Rowena currently sat with Cedric standing just beside her.

It was currently early in the morning and the morning sunlight came in through the tall narrow windows behind the desk.

It cast long pale strips of light across the floor, which was also enough to brighten up Rowena’s private study.

"Today is the third day, is it not, Cedric?" Rowena asked softly, because today was the designated day Austin was asked to bring over a sample for Rowena to fully support him, based on their agreement.

"Yes, it is, my lady." Cedric replied with a nod and continued.

"My son confirmed this morning that something would be brought over today as agreed."

Rowena nodded in understanding as she picked up one of the parchments on her desk and looked it over without really reading it. "But now that I think about it, what do you think will happen once the kingdom gets word of a 20% impurity-free stamina-enhancing potion existing in our stores?"

Cedric opened his mouth to reply, but before a single word could leave his lips, the study door swung open and both of them turned to look at who had entered.

And in the doorway stood a young male elf who looked to be around twenty-seven years old by human standards.

The young man was Legolas, and he had short blonde hair that stuck up in several directions at once, almost as though he hadn’t had the time to tidy himself up before arriving here.

He had a lean frame and was dressed in his usual clerk attire, but every part of his clothing looked either wrinkled, stained, or both.

Even the skin under his eyes was dark and his shoulders were slumped, because he hadn’t had a good night’s sleep in days.

Legolas remained still in the doorway and simply sighed as he stared at the Countess and his father, waiting for him to enter.

Meanwhile, Cedric noticed the zombie-like state his son was in and couldn’t help but ask. "Son? What happened to you?"

Legolas opened his mouth but slowly closed it before opening it again.

"Father. I have never in my entire life seen a female wolfkin as fierce and terrifying as that woman working with that human." Legolas uttered, and this caused Rowena and Cedric to exchange glances in confusion.

"What are you talking about?" Cedric asked.

"Father. That woman dragged me into two dungeons and one forest every day for three days straight." Legolas replied as he continued right after.

"She did this for three whole days, Father. To me. Me? A level three."

"Father, I am level three and she’s level five. Do you understand what that means?"

"Do you understand what it felt like to be trying to keep up with her strength and speed?"

"Unlike me, she doesn’t slow down when diving into dungeons and she doesn’t get tired either."

"She just keeps going and going and going like some kind of unstoppable force of nature, and she was smiling the entire time. It was terrifying." Legolas explained, and the room stayed quiet.

To obtain ingredients needed to brew the stamina enhancing potions, it was expected of them to seek these ingredients in dungeons or in the woods nearby. 𝑓𝘳𝑒𝑒𝓌𝘦𝘣𝘯ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝑚

This was why Austin had allowed Nora to be in charge of ingredient gathering.

But since Austin needed a lot of ingredients to brew the potions Nora would always bring Legolas to tag along on her ingredient gathering mission, but this was always a hellish experience for the male elf.

Listening to all this, Rowena slowly placed the parchment she was holding down on her desk as she listened to what Legolas had to say.

"And him, that human. I have to talk about Austin as well."

"What about him?" Cedric asked.

"If the wolfkin was the most terrifying girl I had ever seen, then that human definitely has to be the strangest human I had ever laid eyes on."

"From dawn to dusk, every single day, all he does is lock himself inside that workshop and brew potions without stopping. I have never seen anything like it. It almost feels like the man is possessed or something."

"But that’s not all, because at night he would step out of his workshop to spend the evening with his wife."

"The two would spend all night kissing each other, tickling themselves, and even telling each other stories as well. I could hear them from down the hall every single night, with neither of them caring that there were others with them in the shop."

Cedric cleared his throat as he placed his palm on his face.

"But honestly, those are still not the strangest things I’ve experienced since I began to know those two."

"What do you mean?" Rowena asked.

"My lady. Since I was asked to bring over the sample potion Austin had worked on, I decided to request it from the man himself, but upon walking into that workshop this morning expecting to see one sample potion sitting on the table, you can’t imagine the look on my face when I noticed the hundred vials sitting on his desk."

"What? Did you just say one hundred vials had been brewed within three days?"

"Yes, my lady. One hundred vials of 20% impurity-free stamina-enhancing potion were definitely confirmed to be sitting in rows on his workshop shelves." Legolas explained as he reached into the satchel hanging from his shoulder, then he carefully placed a single vial on Rowena’s desk for the beautiful Countess to have a look at.
