Having Wives And Raising Children Levels Me Up
Chapter 20. Hundred Kisses.
"Yes, my lady. One hundred vials of 20% impurity-free stamina enhancing potion were confirmed to be sitting in rows on his workshop shelves ." Legolas explained as he reached into the satchel hanging from his shoulder, then he carefully placed a single vial on Rowena’s desk for the beautiful Countess to have a look at the potion.
Rowena stared at the potion before grabbing the vial to have a better look at it.
The liquid inside the vial was green in colour.
Even without gulping the potion, Rowena could already feel the energy the potion possessed, which was completely different from any other stamina-enhancing potion sold in the market.
"If you would like to confirm it yourself, Countess, I brought a clarity stone with me just in case." Legolas muttered, and Rowena stared at Cedric.
Cedric nodded in understanding and glanced at his son before nodding to him as well.
Legolas understood the command and he dropped a drip of the potion onto the clarity stone.
A clarity stone’s main purpose was purely to discover the impurity-free level of a potion.
Ever since it had been invented, it had been the primary source of impurity level measurement, and so far it had been reliable since everyone started making use of it.
"It’s twenty percent, my lady." Cedric muttered, and Rowena glanced back at Legolas.
"So, you’re saying all hundred vials have been confirmed?"
"Yes, my lady. I confirmed them all myself." Legolas replied with a nod. "Oh, that reminds me."
"What is it?" Rowena asked.
"Since the vials with him are almost used up, he sent me here to ask for more, because he’s almost done brewing the full two hundred for the month already."
"What? Almost done?"
"Yes, my lady. Also, just yesterday, he did a little bit of um.....what did he call it again." Legolas clicked his tongue as he tried to remember the right word Austin had used.
"Ah, yes. He did a little bit of advertising, and everyone outside the store went wild. The whole town was talking about the rumoured 20% potion, and now this morning we’ve had three requests from three different aristocratic households asking for a sample of the potion, just to confirm if the rumours are true, but we can’t sell it to them until you’ve given us the go-ahead."
Hearing this, Rowena was stunned by the stream of news Legolas kept bombarding her with one after the other.
It took her three long minutes to calm down before asking. "Thank you, Legolas, but wait a minute. The agreement between us and Austin states that we’ll be selling two hundred vials per month, so how has he already nearly reached that number in three days? Also, he shouldn’t have a hundred unused vials in that store. I believe we still had around thirty or forty empty vials there if I’m not mistaken, so where did he get the remaining sixty or seventy vials to work with?"
"He reused the old vials, my lady." Legolas replied and continued.
"Since we had a lot of mana-replenishing potions in the store sitting on the shelves for years without anyone buying them, Austin decided to drain them all, then he asked Elena and me to thoroughly clean them. Once done, he filled all the vials with the new potions, and now he’s asking for more."
Hearing this, Rowena turned to look at the vial on her desk again.
"I understand, Legolas, but how did he manage to produce so much in three days?" Rowena asked, because no matter how hard she thought about it, she couldn’t really make sense of why Austin would suddenly decide to make hundreds of potions within three days.
If he knew he could do more in a month, he would have stated this during their agreement, so unless something had changed without her knowing, Rowena would definitely like to know what might have encouraged him to make so many potions so suddenly.
Meanwhile, Legolas let out a long sigh after hearing Rowena’s question.
He aimed his gaze at the ground as he spoke. "To be honest, Countess, I don’t really think you would want to know....."
"Speak, boy." Cedric urged, and Legolas closed his eyes before opening them as he spoke.
"From what I could hear through the workshop door, his wife called him hubby for the first time, and this made the human explode in happiness."
"He was literally shouting in the night about how his wife had made him the most happiest man alive, simply because she had called him by a pet name. To be honest, it was all very strange to me, because I truly do not understand this weird human nature of his, which seemed to be a lot different from any other human I have observed before. But that wasn’t all, because his wife also promised him a hundred kisses if he could brew a hundred vials, and this turned him into the obsessed potion-brewing maniac he became." Legolas explained, and a long silence filled the study.
The silence lasted for three full minutes until Cedric broke it with his laughter as he replayed what he had just heard from his son.
However, Cedric swiftly collected himself and cleared his throat to stop laughing, but anyone could still see the smile on his face as he glanced over at Rowena while saying.
"My lady, it seems you have nothing to worry about regarding whether the young man was telling the truth about his goals." Cedric chuckled softly once again, and even Rowena couldn’t help but smile as she recalled the silly goal Austin had revealed to her a few days ago.
At first she really hadn’t thought much of it, but now it seemed the man had truly meant every word he said, and it seemed like he was genuinely in love with that wolfkin companion of his.
Pushing this thought aside for now, Rowena straightened her face before asking softly. "And where is he right now? Is he still brewing more potions in the workshop?"
Rowena asked with a curious look on her face, because if Austin could truly brew more potions before the month ended, this only meant that the profits both parties would gain would be doubled and possibly tripled, so Rowena wanted to know if he was still busy working in the workshop.
"No, Countess. Right now, he is..." Legolas paused mid-sentence as he wondered how he should tell the Countess that Austin wasn’t busy in the workshop right now, but rather was busy receiving a hundred kisses from his beautiful wife.
