Hypnosis: I Pretended To Be Hypnotized By My Childhood Friend
Chapter 10: Study Group
"Attention everyone."
The short-haired girl with glasses clapped her hands, drawing all attention in the classroom.
"We have an announcement for everyone." Her eyes swept across the classroom.
"So, because our school’s scores have been declining lately, which could make this school no longer ’elite.’ Therefore, the teachers have decided to hold a program."
The short-haired girl with glasses looked at her clipboard and said.
"A program where students in this school must form study groups. These study groups must be held 3 times a week. These study groups consist of 4 people, and everyone’s study groups has been decided on my clipboard. Therefore, listen carefully to what I am about to say."
Then, the student council secretary read out the names in Liam’s class.
Well, this is pretty good for Liam. Rather than having to study with Miria and repeat yesterday’s events. He would rather study with his classmates, he also hopes he can be with Darren, the friend who was sitting in front of him.
"And for the last study group: Silvia, Megy, Darren, and... Liam."
Thud.
The sound of something falling echoed, making Liam look.
Up front, Silvia seemed to have accidentally dropped her pen.
She picked it up and immediately returned to scribbling something her notes. Maybe maths formula.
Liam stared at Silvia a little longer. He was just surprised, who would have thought he would be paired with the #1 academically talented student in this school.
Is this really the teacher’s plan, pairing him, the student with the lowest grades, with the student with the highest grades. If so, Liam wouldn’t complain.
"Now, that’s all I have to say. For the location and time of study, please decide yourselves. Keep in mind that your learning reports must be submitted every Friday or Monday, and for those of you who do not submit, expect one or two, or even three scores docked from you."
With the announcement finished, the student council secretary left the classroom just like that.
Instantly, the classroom became rowdy.
"Oh my~ Mia! We’re in the same group!" A female student said to her friend.
"What’s this kind of nonsense, it’s literally useless." A student said, seemingly disagreeing with the program.
Suddenly, someone tapped his shoulder.
"Hey, we’re in the same study group, Liam." Darren said to him, smiling.
"But who would have thought that our group members... turned out to be the top students in this school." His eyes glanced towards Silvia, who was still focused on writing something in her book.
Liam hadn’t expected it either. Could someone as amazing as Silvia be in the same group as him, wasn’t that a blessing?
He genuinely was impressed by how disciplined and diligent Silvia was, back then he had even accidentally praised Silvia in front of his childhood friend Miria.
"Woah... that girl got the top grades so easily again? she looks pretty amazing, isn’t she, Miria?"
Miria, hearing that, replied in a low tone as if surprised, with a hint of disappointment.
"Wha... don’t tell me you like that type, Liam? Do you like girls who seem cold and distant like her?" Miria asked, lowering her head.
"Well... she’s just a bit quiet, right? Besides, someone as beautiful and high-quality as her, I’m sure many are interested in her." Liam uttered the sincere compliment without thinking.
Back then, Miria still often clung to him, they also often went to school together, Miria would always care about him, and honestly, back then Miria was still like a normal high school student.
However, after he said that sentence, for some reason Miria felt like she was distancing herself from him.
Back when they were in elementary school together with Miria, Miria was a very quiet little girl, she seemed to be often teased by her friends back then.
And Liam was the one who accompanied her during those times.
Then, when they were in junior high, Miria started to change a little from being quiet, she began to show various expressions, becoming more cheerful.
However, it seems that all of that changed when they entered their second year of high school where Miria ran for student council president.
From then on, Miria, who often called him warmly, started to not notice him at all at school, as if he were invisible.
Miria became cold...
After thinking about it again, Liam finally realized.
Could it be that some misunderstanding happened between them?
Did Miria mistake Liam’s type for someone like Silvia? Someone of high value and who appears cold?
Wait, that makes sense!
Liam felt very stupid, how could he only realize this now.
After realizing that, Liam immediately stood up from his chair.
Darren was surprised by Liam’s sudden behavior. "Where are you going? Liam?!"
Liam turned over his shoulder. "I have something to take care of!"
Liam wanted to hurry out, so all this time his awkward relationship with Miria was only caused by this misunderstanding?!
He needed to tell Miria about this.
In the front row, a girl was circling something. Her study group members name was written there, her pen moved in a circle over a name.
Liam.
Silvia didn’t expect to be paired with that guy...
She was so shocked that she accidentally dropped her pen earlier.
It was strangely embarrassing, but luckily her poker face was well-trained.
So what now? The student council secretary said the first name called would be the leader of that study group.
And remembering that her name was called first, what should she do now?
Then she remembered quickly.
Yes, she must determine the location and time to study with her group.
After knowing that, she immediately turned towards Liam’s chair.
Only to find the man hurriedly leaving the classroom.
Seeing that, Silvia furrowed her brows, confused why the man seemed to be in such a hurry.
Without Silvia realizing it, whether it was an invincible force or something else...
All she knew was that her feet had moved on their own, following the man.
