Chapter 136: Let’s go

The face frowned down at them, then gazed at the crypts, and the frowning intensified. "What are you doing little bird? I’m going to roast you today! You just disturb me from an important meeting! Return!"

The crypts all returned to their original state, and the face varnished; the sky returned to its cloudy.

Azaroth looked at the little bird flatly. The bird is just like Alex, always there to cause trouble.

"Eh, that’s my master." The little bird laughed with nervousness. "Oh shit! I’m going to get it today."

"So your name is Little Bird," Stallus said. "That’s just so Ironic."

The little bird turned to her. "What? What’s wrong with it? That’s the name personally given to my crypt Master."

"Why are you here?" Azaroth’s cold voice sliced through.

The translucent bird flapped towards him and said. "You are the strongest. Your eyes are red, and you use the fire technique, so why is everything about you so cold?"

"If you are done here then we shall go into the crypt to hunt." Azaroth turned towards the head of the ship, preparing to inject his essence and start stirring the ship.

"Hump, so rude," Little Bird said. "Anyway, I’m here because I will be appearing more and more frequently. You can call on me, unlike Master, and I will appear to answer your questions."

"Good," Azaroth turned back. "Why don’t you include a room on the ship?"

Alex jumped on that. "Exactly! We can’t be staying above the ship always where constant rain and cold will be affecting us. Who makes a ship this big without rooms below?"

The little bird cleared his throat. "Well, isn’t this what a ship looks like? I’m sure Master just imagined it and sent it your way. You humans like to look at every detail!"

Azaroth narrowed his eyes. He already knew just how powerful the Crypt Master is but to see him make something like this, casually imagining something and making it so. It sounded like those gods of the fallen world.

Little froze for a few seconds, and a shimmer appeared around him, and then he spoke again. "Alright! I’ve talked with Master and he said he’ll make changes to it. He’s baffled as well that there must be inside where you’ll live."

Stallus chuckled. "We are to spend how long on the sea, that will be a big improvement."

Catena moved closer to him. "What about food? Will he give us bread? Or milk? Or sugar? Or...."

A little bird interrupted him before he continued and said with a bit of ice. "Your safety and feeding is entirely up to you here. That’s none of our business."

Catena looked at the little bird as if his entire value had just dropped; he turned away from the whole conversation then as if he was already bored. "That’s a shame then." He said.

"Well? Is there anything you want to ask? That’s why I’m here, come on tell me."

No one said anything.

"Are you sure there’s nothing like the enchanted object you managed to pick up as loot? Maybe from the crypt you just hunted?" Little bird looked directly at Azaroth as he said this.

Azaroth lifted his hand and brought out the cloak from his ring. "Here." He said.

Little bird gestured and the cloak floated over to his side. "I see. Well, this enchanted object is called...Vigil velvet! Now let me see what it can do. If you put your essence, then I’ll be able to let you side a distance of one foot in any direction. It’s an object of your rank."

The other gushed about it, and Stallus wanted to immediately try it. She asked if she could from Azaroth, and he turned to the bird before he answered. "Is it growth type? Or bonded object?"

Little bird shook his head. "Nah! It’s a normal enchanted tool, but since it’s from the crypt, it’s naturally stronger than what Enchanters can do."

Since it’s not the type he wanted, Azaroth gave Stallus the go-ahead to use it. And she quickly put it on, even though the cloak looks big at first; once she puts it on, it’s as if it was made specifically for her.

She injected her mana and she blurred to the left. "Wow, this is amazing."

Azaroth watched her. The distance the Vigil valvet provided isn’t much but it’ll be useful in close combat because even a slight movement can save or take life.

"Me too! I want to try! Let me put it on! Right now!" Alex shouted until Stallus gave it to him, and just like before, the cloak fitted his height and body.

"So from now on, you can call me to appraise any enchanted tools you find. Don’t forget to call me if you have any questions too!" With a small popping sound, the Little bird disappeared.

"Let’s go," Azaroth said again.

Stallus went to the head of the ship and stirred it to the nearest portal that ripped with soft blue light. Just as before they brought their ship as close as they could and jumped in.

They appeared inside a large green forest, and the team was surprised because it’s been a while. Catena was the most happy and he immediately slammed his legs on the ground, sending his essence down into the deep earth.

They followed the well-worn trail in the forest, and they were not disappointed when they found a large tribe of lizardmen.

Catena, who can’t fight well back where there’s no earth for his technique, took the forefront here. He quickly covered his chains ball with a bigger ball of earth, and then his eyes glowed green as he took power from earth.

They watched him run toward the lizardmen, shouting about how he’d use their flesh for food.

"Wow, he’s fired up," Stallus said. This might be the first time she’s seen him be eager to fight.

Azaroth names his eyes. "We have no choice but to engage in close combat."
