Chapter 1450: Tearing Apart

The sky continued to crack as enormous fractures spread across the darkness above. Far below, the earth also began splitting apart despite the battle raging thousands of meters overhead.

Erend and Nyssara had abandoned all restraint. They fought with every ounce of strength they possessed, driven by the single desire to destroy one another. Nothing else mattered anymore. Their Magic energy overflowed in every direction and collided violently until it generated waves of corrupted Magic that swept across the dead world.

The already ruined landscape only became more twisted beneath that overwhelming power.

Eccar, Aesa, and Sylven remained on the ground, staring upward at the battle happening above them.

They had already returned to their human forms but each of them had partially manifested Dragon Scales across their bodies to protect themselves from the overwhelming concentration of corrupted Magic filling the air.

Everything had descended into chaos.

"This has gone far beyond what we expected," Sylven said anxiously. His youthful voice sounded strangely out of place amid the destruction surrounding them. "Nyssara has completely disregarded the oath. I’m certain of it. She’s drawing even more of her true power into this world!"

Neither Aesa nor Eccar answered. The thoughts inside their minds were exactly the same as Sylven’s words.

"What will happen to Erend after this?" Aesa finally asked quietly.

"I really don’t know," Eccar answered shortly. He refused to say anything more. The possibility lingering inside his mind terrified him. If Erend continued being consumed by the Black Rage while wielding this much power... what kind of being would he become?

High above them, Erend and Nyssara continued assaulting one another without regard for anything else.

Erend’s Dragon body had suffered countless injuries. One of his horns had been completely broken off. Deep slashes carved across his scales, exposing flesh beneath the shattered armor. Parts of his wing membranes had been torn open, but they still carried him through the sky without slowing him in the slightest.

Nyssara’s condition was no better. Cracks spread across her colossal humanoid body like fractures in black crystal. Countless appendages had already been destroyed, leaving jagged stumps protruding from her back and shoulders. Her chest and abdomen were riddled with enormous holes where Erend’s attacks had torn straight through her body.

Neither of them showed any intention of stopping.

Erend attacked with the speed and fury of lightning itself. His moves blurred into streaks of black electricity as darkness completely overwhelmed the remaining white and blue currents. His lightning no longer resembled a natural force. It had become something sinister, something that radiated destruction with every flash.

He flashed through the battlefield like a maddened beast. His claws ripped across Nyssara’s body before he disappeared in another burst of lightning. Then a moment later he emerged from another direction and slammed into her again.

His jaws snapped relentlessly, attempting to tear away pieces of her body with every opportunity. His attack had overwhelming force, and his lightning bolts exploded upon impact, ripping apart flesh and appendages.

There was no technique or tactics anymore.Only instinct for destruction.

Nyssara continued defending herself while launching relentless counterattacks of her own. Her appendages lashed at him and those appendages also thrusted forward like black spears. Her massive fists shattered the air with every swing.

But she was beginning to lose ground. Erend had become faster and stronger. Far more relentless than before.

Nyssara felt herself becoming overwhelmed. Worry and fear crept deeper into her mind.

Every exchange pushed her farther onto the defensive. The wounds she regenerated were immediately replaced by another. She realized with a growing alarm that she was gradually losing control of the battle.

Erend finally found an opening. His claw gathered terrifying momentum before crashing directly into Nyssara’s chest.

BOOM!

The impact blasted her out of the sky. Her gigantic body plummeted toward the earth before crashing into the dead world below.

An enormous shockwave erupted from the point of impact.

The ground split apart in every direction as countless mountains collapsed instantly. Magic energy exploded like an endless tidal wave, sweeping across the devastated landscape while the surrounding air twisted violently beneath the pressure.

The ground shook as though it had been struck by a falling star.

Eccar, Aesa, and Sylven immediately retreated from their position. Even from so far away, the shockwave alone filled their bodies with agonizing pain.

Their skin burned beneath their Dragon Scales as corrupted Magic crashed against them with terrifying force.

This is bad. The three of them stared in horror. The destructive force was already far beyond anything they had imagined.

High above, Erend folded his wings and dove.

Lightning exploded around his body as he accelerated like a falling thunderbolt. Every meter of descent increased his momentum until he became nothing more than a spear of black lightning piercing the air.

Then he landed on Nyssara.

BOOM!!

Erend crashed directly into Nyssara with catastrophic force. Another explosion consumed the battlefield. This shockwave dwarfed the previous one.

Hundreds of kilometers of land split apart as gigantic sections of the dead world were lifted into the air before shattering into countless fragments. Beneath the fractured earth, enormous quantities of dark death energy burst from the exposed depths, pouring into the atmosphere like black rivers escaping from the world’s core.

The entire world trembled. Even Eccar, Aesa, and Sylven were violently thrown away by the impact. Their bodies tumbled uncontrollably as the overwhelming pressure struck them.

Cracks spread across their scales. The sight alone showed just how unimaginably powerful Erend’s attack had become.

Erend was not done. Nyssara was laying sprawling on the ground with so much pain now. Her mind was in a daze, unable to fathom what was going on right now.

Her body and Magic energy didn’t respond to her, which was weird.

In the middle of that, while her mind was still dazed, Erend started tearing her body apart. He clawed, and bit, and tore everything in Nyssara’s body. Large chunks of her cosmic body was gone.
