Chapter 1451: Joy

As soon as they heard the Sky Anchor’s gentle feminine voice, a profound sense of peace washed over the five Archmages. The voice carried warmth unlike anything they had ever experienced. It was as though a goddess herself had descended to bless them with her presence.

For countless generations, they had worshipped the Sky Anchor while she existed only as scattered fragments hidden throughout the world. They had offered prayers without ever expecting an answer. Yet now, after all those years, they finally heard her voice with their own ears. At that moment, each of them truly felt blessed.

The five Archmages exchanged smiles before looking at one another. Joy filled their eyes. The overwhelming relief and happiness became too much to contain.

Without realizing it, they stepped forward and embraced each other, laughing as months of pressure and countless sleepless nights finally came to an end.

"We made it!" Velrion shouted, unable to hide his excitement.

The celebration, however, lasted only a few moments.

Morvain’s expression suddenly stiffened as reality returned to him.

"What about the battle outside?" he asked, sounding almost startled by his own lapse in judgment. "We can’t stand here celebrating while all of that is still happening."

"O-oh... right," Lisara said, immediately releasing the others.

One by one, they composed themselves and steadied their emotions.

"Sky Anchor," Velrion asked respectfully, "do you know what is happening outside?"

"Yes," the Sky Anchor replied gently. "Your king has defeated our enemy."

The moment those words reached them, an enormous weight disappeared from their hearts.

Relief unlike anything they had ever felt flooded through every one of them. After countless battles, unimaginable sacrifices, and devastating losses throughout the kingdom, their greatest enemy had finally fallen.

"The king?" Velrion asked, frowning slightly. "Did His Majesty defeat the enemy by himself?"

"Yes," the Sky Anchor answered. "The story is long, and your king has been gravely injured."

Velrion immediately nodded. "We should go outside and see His Majesty. Perhaps he still needs our help."

The others agreed without hesitation.

Together, the five Archmages left the underground chamber. Their footsteps were light and hurried as they made their way toward the surface, eager to see the king who had risked everything for the world.

King Garrie lay motionless upon a large bed. His consciousness had not yet returned, leaving him completely unaware of everything that had happened after the battle.

Surrounding the bed stood the five Archmages alongside several healers, knight captains, and mage unit captains. Every pair of eyes remained fixed upon the unconscious king.

The room was filled with worry.

This was the man who had stood alone against the greatest enemy their world had ever known and somehow emerged victorious.

What if he did not survive?

"How is His Majesty’s condition?" one of the knight captains asked. Although he tried to conceal his anxiety behind a stern expression, concern still crept into his voice.

"I’m still not certain," one of the healers answered grimly. "The king was already suffering from extreme exhaustion even before fighting the Void Architect. Then he was exposed to poisonous Magic. This isn’t ordinary poison. It’s Magic poison. It’s far stronger... and far more lethal."

Her expression was not merely grim. It was frightened.

The other healers silently looked at King Garrie with the same uneasy expressions. The king was only in his middle years and had always possessed a powerful, imposing physique.

Now he looked terribly frail.

The five Archmages wore similarly solemn expressions. Although the other four did not belong to Leonora, they deeply respected King Garrie as a ruler. The fact that he had personally defeated the Void Architect left every one of them feeling indebted to him.

Velrion finally broke the silence.

"Let’s leave His Majesty in the healers’ hands." He looked around at everyone gathered inside the room before continuing. "Don’t we still have work that must be finished?"

The others quietly nodded in agreement.

Not long afterward, everyone gradually dispersed to attend to the countless urgent matters still awaiting them throughout the kingdom.

The battle had reached its climax.

Eccar, Aesa, and Sylven could do nothing except watch from afar. None of them dared intervene any further unless they wished to become targets of Erend’s uncontrollable rampage as well.

They could all see it now.

Erend had transformed into something terrifying.

He fought with overwhelming brutality and unimaginable strength. Every movement was completely unpredictable, and the true limit of his power remained unknown.

What could they possibly do against something like that?

Nothing.

The three Dragonborn struggled inwardly as they watched Erend sink deeper into the Black Rage. Yet they also understood a painful truth that only Erend possessed enough power to defeat Nyssara.

So they forced themselves to remain where they were.

Erend continued his relentless assault upon Nyssara, tearing away even more flesh and countless appendages from her cosmic body. His own Dragon body was covered with wounds. Blood continuously poured from countless injuries before instantly evaporating beneath the violent currents of black lightning surrounding him.

His eyes emitted an ominous glow. The blue and white light had long since disappeared. Now they were dark. Filled with nothing except madness.

Within those eyes, Nyssara existed as nothing more than prey.

Nyssara could feel her end drawing closer.

Every wound Erend inflicted sent unbearable pain throughout her body, and for the first time in countless ages, she truly felt helpless.

She could no longer draw additional power from her true body.

She had already exceeded every limit she could possibly endure.

Filled with growing despair, the cosmic being gathered every remaining fragment of strength she possessed.

"AAAAAAAHHHHH!!"

Her scream echoed across the dying world.

With one final burst of power, Nyssara lashed out at Erend with everything she had left. The force of her attack finally broke through his relentless assault, sending the Dragonborn crashing toward the ground below.

Without wasting the opportunity, Nyssara immediately pounced after him.

But at that very instant, Erend threw his head back and opened his jaws.

A colossal pillar of black lightning erupted from his mouth.

The beam exploded forward with overwhelming intensity and slammed directly into the center of Nyssara’s chest.
