I Regressed With a 10,000x God-Tier Multiplier
Chapter 165: The Oracle’s Hack, Shattering the Array
Sarah didn’t question the order.
A pulse of silver starlight materialized on the hard-light highway next to Lucifer.
The Star-Touched Oracle stepped out of the teleport, her white dress rippling in the intense, radiant heat washing over the Vanguard.
She looked past the struggling, cracking planetary shield of Zephyria. Her cosmic eyes narrowed as they adjusted to the blinding glare of the Sun-Eater Array.
"The mirrors are slaved to a central targeting matrix," Sarah observed instantly, pointing her Scepter of Cosmic Alignment toward the glowing crystal hub buried deep within the fifty-mile web of floating gold.
"The souls provide the fuel, but the hub dictates the alignment. If the hub loses cohesion, the mirrors will blind-fire and melt each other."
"Can you shut it down?" Lucifer asked smoothly.
Sarah gripped her scepter. She didn’t look confident. She looked terrified.
"Shut it down?", a nervous, breathless laugh escaping her lips. "Lucifer, that is divine infrastructure.
It is directly tethered to the consciousness of Solaris Prime. If I link my mind to that hub, I won’t just be pressing buttons.
I will be engaging the God of Light in a psychic war of attrition inside a closed network."
She looked down at her hands. "I am a mortal. The sheer processing speed of a God... it will burn my mind to ash in seconds."
"I am not going to let him burn you," Lucifer stated.
He didn’t offer empty reassurance. He offered a mechanical solution.
"The shield is failing, Warlord!" Vexia screamed over the comms. "Two minutes! The blood grid is boiling!"
"Void Step," Lucifer commanded.
He wrapped his heavy iron-clad left arm securely around Sarah’s waist, pulling her flush against his dark leather armor.
"We are going to the hub," Lucifer whispered directly into her ear.
He raised the Gauntlet of the Void King. He didn’t teleport into empty air.
He aimed for the tiny, solid platform of white marble hovering directly beneath the central crystal hub of the array, completely surrounded by the crisscrossing beams of white-hot plasma.
Lucifer and Sarah vanished.
They materialized flawlessly in the eye of the storm.
The heat was instantly apocalyptic.
They were standing on a small, ten-foot-wide marble disc. Above them loomed the massive, glowing crystal hub that controlled the entire fifty-mile defense grid.
Surrounding them in every direction were towering golden mirrors, slowly rotating on invisible gimbals, firing beams of concentrated solar plasma that missed their tiny platform by mere feet.
The deafening roar of the cannons and the agonizing screams of the harvested souls vibrated violently through the floor.
Even with Lucifer’s Void Arcanist core neutralizing the environment, the sheer thermal radiation felt like standing inside an active forge furnace.
Sarah gasped, her pale skin instantly flushing a painful, bright red. Sweat poured down her face.
"Link it!" Lucifer roared over the deafening noise.
Sarah didn’t hesitate. She stepped forward and slammed both of her bare hands directly onto the smooth, glowing surface of the massive crystal hub.
The moment her skin touched the divine machine, she screamed.
It was a raw, vocal manifestation of absolute psychic shock.
[System Alert: Cyber-Magical Link Established.]
[Warning: Hostile Entity Intruding on Network!]
[Entity: Solaris Prime (God of Light)]
"He’s in the system!" Sarah shrieked. Her back arched violently, but her hands remained glued to the crystal. "He’s manually overriding my access! He’s fighting me in the code!"
Lucifer didn’t draw his sword. A physical weapon was useless here.
He watched the glowing crystal column. The rigid, structured blue magic of the divine array was actively surging forward, trying to crush the delicate, silver starlight pouring from Sarah’s hands.
"Break his grip, Oracle," Lucifer ordered smoothly, though tension bled into his voice.
"I’m trying!" Sarah cried out. Tears of liquid starlight streamed down her flushed cheeks, evaporating the moment they hit the superheated air.
"The pressure is too heavy! He’s too fast! The heat is burning my mind!"
The ambient temperature on the tiny platform spiked again.
The massive golden mirrors surrounding them sensed the foreign intrusion. They didn’t aim at Zephyria’s shield anymore.
They began to slowly, methodically rotate inward, turning their colossal, white-hot plasma beams directly toward the small marble disc in the center.
"Lucifer!" Sarah gasped, her knees buckling. "The mirrors are locking onto us!"
Lucifer didn’t look at the mirrors. He didn’t cast an energy shield.
He wrapped both of his arms tightly around Sarah, pulling her into a desperate, crushing embrace from behind.
"I am the grounding rod," Lucifer whispered fiercely into her ear.
He didn’t cast a defensive spell. He did something infinitely more dangerous.
Lucifer engaged his Void Arcanist core and forcibly linked his own mana pathways directly into Sarah’s spirit core through their Soul-Bond.
[System Warning: Direct Core Synchronization Detected!]
[Applying massive magical feedback to Warlord’s physical vessel.]
Lucifer gritted his teeth. A sharp, localized groan escaped his lips.
The immense, burning psychic pressure of fighting the God of Light did not crush Sarah’s mind. It bypassed her entirely and slammed directly into Lucifer’s soul.
The absolute heat of the plasma beams attempting to lock onto the platform was absorbed by the infinite, light-devouring density of the Warlord’s dark armor.
Lucifer became a living heat sink.
He absorbed the agony. He absorbed the psychic trauma of a God’s fury. He kept Sarah perfectly, utterly insulated from the horrific backlash of the cyber-magical war.
"Your mind is clear," Lucifer ground out, his voice strained but absolute. "Hack the system. Now."
Sarah opened her eyes.
The pain was completely gone.
She looked up at the crystal hub. Her cosmic eyes, freed from the burning pressure, flared with blinding, absolute silver light.
She didn’t just fight Solaris Prime; she bypassed him entirely.
Sarah poured the limitless, chaotic vastness of the universe directly into the rigid, ordered, mechanical network of the Sun-Eater Array.
"I see you," Sarah whispered to the machine.
She didn’t try to shut the array down. She twisted her hands, physically ripping the alignment codes apart.
[System Alert: Network Override Successful.]
[Targeting Matrix: Scrambled.]
The massive crystal column in front of her instantly shattered.
A violent, cascading shockwave of disrupted magic raced through the floor, hitting every single mirror in the fifty-mile array simultaneously.
The colossal golden mirrors stopped rotating smoothly. The gimbals locked. The concentrated plasma beams sputtered wildly, losing all cohesion.
The heavy crystal conduits feeding the screaming souls into the mirrors violently ruptured, snapping the connection to the rivers below.
Without the souls to fuel the heat, and with the targeting matrix screaming conflicting orders, the mirrors overloaded.
BOOM. BOOM. BOOM.
The entire Sun-Eater Array detonated.
Thousands of massive golden mirrors exploded into millions of pieces of harmless, shattered glass.
The deafening roar of the plasma cannons was replaced by the chaotic, beautiful sound of a planetary defense grid completely tearing itself apart.
The white-hot heat evaporated instantly, leaving the air perfectly cool and quiet.
Lucifer slowly released his grip on Sarah.
He stumbled backward slightly, falling to one knee as the immense, localized magical feedback finally ceased.
He coughed heavily, a small splash of blood hitting the white marble floor. The physical strain of absorbing a God’s psychic attack and the ambient heat of a failing plasma array had pushed his Warlord core to its absolute limit.
Sarah spun around.
She dropped to her knees in front of him. She didn’t grab her scepter. She grabbed his face, her small hands frantically checking him for burns.
"Lucifer!" Sarah cried, her starlight eyes wide with profound panic. "You took the entire backlash! Your core is fluctuating wildly!"
"It’s stabilizing," Lucifer rasped, waving her off gently. He wiped the blood from his chin with the back of his iron gauntlet. He offered her a faint, tired smirk. "I told you. I have you."
Sarah stared at him. The sheer, overwhelming devotion she felt for the Warlord completely eclipsed the thrill of her victory.
He had literally acted as a human shield against a divine network just so she could do her job.
She didn’t thank him with words. She leaned forward and pressed her forehead tightly against his, closing her eyes and letting her calming, cosmic aura wash over his exhausted mind.
"The mirrors are down," Lucifer announced over the comms rune, his voice returning to its normal, commanding rumble.
"We see it, Grand Marshal!" Celeste yelled triumphantly from the Vanguard. "The path is completely clear!"
Lucifer stood up, effortlessly pulling Sarah to her feet. He picked up her Scepter of Cosmic Alignment and handed it to her.
"The front door is open," Lucifer said smoothly, drawing the Blade of Ruin. The ruby-red sword flared aggressively, sensing the ultimate target ahead.
He looked toward the massive, golden ziggurat of the Solar Throne looming at the end of the plaza. The heavy, gold-plated doors were blown wide open by the cascading explosions of the mirror array.
"Elara. Lyra," Lucifer commanded over the link. "Leave the army on the plaza. The three of us are going into the throne room."
"What about me?" Sarah asked, gripping her scepter.
"You stay here," Lucifer ordered softly. "You broke the lock. Let the heavy infantry handle the eviction."
He began to walk toward the ziggurat, his heavy boots crunching on the shattered glass of the ruined mirrors.
"It is time to execute Heaven," Lucifer declared.
