I Was Framed, Now I'll Take The Throne
Chapter 72: Shopping for them
"I’m rich." Lionel smiled sheepishly at that.
"..." Rylan and Eiden immediately became speechless.
For some reason, hearing their young lord casually saying that made the two feel even more pressured.
Meanwhile, the attendant on the side quickly hid his smile before professionally stepping forward. For sure, their store would gain another bunch of sales!!
"Then, shall we begin, Sirs?" He asked as he looked at the two.
Rylan and Eiden looked at each other. They were excited earlier, but now, they look like they were about to go to a battlefield instead of buying clothes.
Lionel almost laughed after seeing their expressions, but he kept his dignified self.
"Go on, you two," he waved his hand off them, sitting comfortably on one of the nearby couches. "You two need proper clothes."
Lionel looked at the attendant and nodded. "Take them away."
The attendant nodded and lowered his head.
"Yes, Sir." Just like that, he placed a hand on Rylan and Eiden’s shoulders. Both of their eyes widened as the attendant pushed them off to follow him.
Lionel quietly watched from the couch as the two were practically dragged deeper inside the boutique. Rylan and Eiden both looked stiff and nervous while the attendant pushed them.
"This way, Sirs."
The attendant soon stopped in front of a large standing mirror surrounded by measuring tools and folded fabrics.
"First, we will take your measurements."
Rylan and Eiden immediately froze again.
"Raise your arms slightly," the attendant said politely toward Rylan first.
Rylan awkwardly raised his arms like a child.
Like that, the attendant began wrapping measuring tape around his shoulders, chest, waist, and arms while writing numbers down on a clean paper calmly.
Meanwhile, Rylan looked so stiff at what he was doing.
"You may relax a little."
"I...I am relaxed."
The attendant paused briefly to look at Rylan before silently continuing. At the side, Lionel secretly found the scene funny.
Rylan looked more nervous here than during sword training and Eiden was also no different.
"Please stand straight, Sir."
"I am standing straight!"
"Put your hands on the side."
Eiden immediately fixed himself awkwardly, just like Rylan. The attendant then crouched slightly to measure his legs while a newly arrived attendant fixed a fabric against his shoulders to see what color would fit his complexion.
Eiden’s entire face looked troubled.
"My lord..." he looked toward Lionel helplessly as if begging for mercy.
"What is it?" But Lionel just smiled at him. He calmly took a sip of the tea prepared for him a while ago.
"This feels strange..."
Lionel chuckled at that. "That’s completely normal, Eiden. You should get used to it. It’s only body measurements."
"But why are there so many?!"
Lionel almost laughed at his expression.
Honestly, the two looked completely out of place inside such an expensive boutique. One look and you would already know that they weren’t befitting for the place.
However, the attendants remained professional. Mainly because they knew that the young man who was sitting was probably rich and would pay for everything.
"Please lift your chin slightly."
"Turn to the side, Sir."
"Raise your arm again."
"Relax your shoulders."
The instructions continuously came one after another. Meanwhile, Rylan and Eiden looked like their souls were slowly leaving their bodies.
Meanwhile, Lionel quietly watched everything from the couch while flipping through several design catalogs the attendants handed to him. There were different styles of clothes on every page.
Some looked luxurious and flashy enough to immediately tell everyone that the wearer was rich. While others looked elegant and more noble-like. There were also some that were only filled with expensive embroidery and decorations.
"This is too much." Lionel stared at one design for a moment and thought if it would fit the two. He flipped the page and sighed.
"This one too."
Honestly, at first, Lionel thought about choosing overly expensive clothes for the two just for fun. He wanted to see how funny Rylan and Eiden would look wearing clothes meant for high-ranking nobles.
But after thinking about it carefully, he decided against it. Since this was a reward after all, the clothes needed to be practical.
After all, he knew that the two won’t wear anything that’s luxurious as it would only attract unnecessary attention. So choosing simpler ones was better.
"Hmm... maybe this one," Lionel eventually pointed at one of the designs that had nothing on it except its good-looking fabric. It was a dark-colored outfit with a clean design.
He raised a hand an attendant immediately went closer to him.
"This one suits the taller one," Lionel casually commented while glancing toward Rylan.
Rylan naturally had a calmer and colder appearance so dark colors would fit him more.
Then Lionel flipped through another page before stopping again.
"This one for that guy." He pointed at Eiden.
Compared to Rylan’s, the design looked lighter and slightly more casual. It was because he knew Eiden was more of a fun guy. The attendant nodded professionally while writing everything down.
"Excellent choices, Sir."
Meanwhile, the two victims were still suffering in the measuring area.
"Please relax your shoulders."
"I AM relaxed..."
"You are trembling slightly, Sir."
"...."
Lionel secretly laughed again after hearing that. Soon enough, several fabrics were brought over and placed in front of Lionel for selection.
"What material would you prefer?" Lionel reached out and touched the fabrics quietly. He had done this countless times already.
"Hmm... I’d prefer one that’s more durable. Maybe this one." He pointed at a thick but still soft fabric.
"An excellent choice, Sir. It is comfortable while still suitable for daily movement."
"Good. They’ll need that since they will be moving a lot."
Lionel continued selecting calmly afterward. He chose more fabric for every design the two will wear. He chose a variety of designs from footwear, inner shirts, coats, and casual clothes for daily.
The more he picked, the more horrified Rylan and Eiden looked from the side.
"My lord..." Eiden looked like he was panicking. "Isn’t this too much?"
"It’s only a few." Lionel looked at him innocently.
But the truth was, there were already piles of selected clothing beside him.
Rylan quietly looked away like he had already accepted defeat.
Meanwhile, the attendants looked happier and happier as time passed and the more design he chose.
This young master really spends money without hesitation... they thought. They d efinetely hit a jackpot with htis one!!
Soon, another attendant carefully approached Lionel.
"Would you perhaps like matching accessories for them as well?"
Lionel paused for a moment before slowly smiling.
Rylan and Eiden immediately felt danger for some reason. Because when they heard that and saw Lionel’s expression, they already felt something was wrong.
"Accessories?" Eiden repeated slowly, as he had just heard something terrifying.
"We already have enough, my lord," Rylan answered seriously from the side.
Lionel almost laughed at their reactions. It was obvious that they didn’t want it.
"That’s not the point," he said while resting his chin against one hand. "You two represent me outside now. Looking decent matters too."
The attendant immediately nodded in agreement.
"Indeed, Sir. Proper accessories help complete the overall appearance."
"Complete what appearance?" Eiden looked even more troubled after hearing that.
Lionel ignored him completely afterward and turned back toward the attendant.
"Bring me something not too flashy," he said calmly. "Understood, Sir."
Soon, several more items were placed in front of Lionel. There were silver pins, emblems, cloaks, and even simple watches.
Lionel quietly looked through everything one by one.
"This one, this one, this one..." he kept on pointing at everything that his eyes set upon.
The attendant nodded immediately, clearly pleased at it.
"And this one too."
Eiden and Rylan now had an unexplainable look on their faces.
"My lord... why are there so many things needed just to wear clothes..." Eiden sighed at that.
"Because people judge appearances first," Lionel answered casually while flipping through another catalog. "You’ll understand eventually."
Meanwhile, Rylan already looked dead inside. At this point, he had completely given up resisting.
The attendants continued moving around busily while taking notes and preparing fabrics. The once quiet boutique now become livelier because of Lionel alone.
For sure, Lionel was one of their biggest client so far!
However, in the middle of it, the sound of the boutique door opening echoed softly. Everyone inside instinctively glanced toward the entrance.
A young woman slowly stepped inside the boutique while several guards followed behind her calmly.
She wore an elegant light-colored dress decorated with silver embroidery. Her long hair was neatly arranged, and just one look was enough to tell she came from a noble family.
The atmosphere inside subtly changed the moment she entered and the attendants immediately bowed politely.
"Welcome, Lady Cecilia."
The young woman only gave a calm nod before her gaze slowly wandered around the boutique.
Then her eyes landed on Lionel.
"...Hm?" Her brows lifted slightly in judgement.
Meanwhile, Lionel also glanced toward her direction for a brief moment before calmly looking away again. He had no interest about these people.
