I'll Just Be Overpowered
Chapter 69: Abomination
Ken ran at top speed, it didn’t take long for him to arrive where the abomination was, and from a distance he could tell what the abomination was. He saw it standing there in front of the manor. A monster at seven feet tall, it had skin that looked dark grey, its spines protruding like spikes running down its back.
Both legs were black and extremely long, packed with tight muscle. It was hunched over, barely had a neck, which then led into the lizard-like head that it had with a ton of lacerated teeth. One bite from that and you would die. In its chest, there seemed to be some sort of glowing twisted beating orb of purple light, but it was hidden by ribs that had forced their way out and covered it. The arms of the abomination were extremely long and they had elongated black claws that gleamed like metal.
"So this is an abomination," Ken said. He kept his gaze on this fascinating creature, not like he could look away at all. Standing opposite this monster was Ross, huffing and puffing, he was out of breath, the sword in his hands trembled and sweat fell down his face and dripped to the floor.
He noticed when Ken came, yet he did not dare look away, he kept his eyes forward and gripped his sword tight.
"You came to help, kid?" he asked. "If you did, then you better run, call Nero or someone, you can’t deal with this sort of monster, it’s an abomination, magic doesn’t work on it, it just absorbs it into that core in its chest and grows stronger." He gave Ken the fastest explanation of what it was.
Ken looked at the abomination one more time and then he started approaching, he gripped his sword, ready to go, ready to take the monster down.
"Don’t worry about me, let’s take this monster down," he said and then stood beside Ross.
"Haha, you’re a pretty crazy kid huh, well I like that." Ross said and then shifted his stance. "Whatever you think you knew about fighting, when it comes to monsters like this, throw it out the window, let your gut lead you, because they are not predictable."
The abomination seemed to sense there was a plan against it now, so it attacked, feet pressed against the ground so hard that it cracked and then it launched, moving at a speed so fast that it would normally be impossible for that body.
Its first target was Ken, it struck a blow with a force that could shatter a house, Ken raised his blade and the fist met with it. He was thrown back so fast and so hard that he slammed into the walls of the compound with enough force to break them. He rolled until he came to a stop, his head ringing, and blood dripping from his head, he was hurt.
Ken looked up as the blood covered his eyes and there it was already, striking another blow at him so fast that he barely got time to raise his sword high enough. He was thrown to the side again, so fast that he bounced off the floor like a ball that could not stop, and when he finally did, he lay on the ground with blood covering his face.
The abomination came again, it rushed fast, like its former speed was not enough, it leaped into the air and swung down eager to kill the kid it had set its mindless mind to kill. But as the attack came down, a massive dome of ice formed and covered Ken, it was shattered by the force, but this time he was not hit.
Ross came in, he rushed in as fast as he could and then attacked with all that he could, a slash with everything that he had and the abomination turned to match the force with what it had. The claws and the sword met in the air and a shockwave ripped in every direction, Ross was pushed back a few steps until he managed to hold his position.
Ken got up from the floor, his mind still a mess. He staggered as he held his blade and looked at the abomination that was now locked in battle with Ross.
’I could barely see it, he came so fast that I could barely move, I almost died,’ Ken thought, the realization settled in, he gritted his teeth, rage filled his heart because for the first time in a long while he felt utterly vulnerable, he could not live with that state.
"Activate true state," he muttered, the system obeyed and then he felt it, the same burn that happened the last time, a surge of power that made him feel invincible.
"You are the strongest thing I have faced, but even against you, I’ll still win." Ken charged ahead, this time his speed faster than before. The abomination who was locked in battle against Ross suddenly turned, but it was too late as the slash landed on its chest and knocked it back a few feet. The attack did not do anything, but it was only the start.
Ken landed on the ground and then charged in fast again.
"I’ll be damned if you make me feel weak," he roared and went in with a barrage of slashes. The abomination was forced into the defensive, blocking every attack as fast as it could, and then finally it found an opening and went for the attack. Ken blocked the attack and was thrown back, his boots grinding against the floor till he came to a stop and then he looked up.
The orb in the chest of the abomination had started glowing brighter, and then a massive blast ripped from it. Ken and Ross leaped out of the way just in time, the blast hit the ground and melted it instantly, leaving a massive streak in the ground.
The abomination stood there, its chest now much dimmer, but it was slowly regaining its color.
