Chapter 96: All To Myself
Later that night, as Cobra lay in bed, thoughts of Anastasia filled his mind.
He heard the door creak open, and without even sparing it a glance, he hissed in frustration, a question laced with irritation slipping past his lips.
"What are you doing here, Liam Snow?" he demanded, his voice tinged with annoyance. 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞
- Liam’s pov:
"How sweet of you. Remembering my smell, huh?" I teased as I approached Cobra, who lay cuffed to the bed in the dimly lit room.
I hate this room, it’s so suffocating, I don’t know how he could live here for a whole month.
His chest heaved with a deep growl, muscles straining against the restraints.
"Alright, calm down, man. I’m just kidding," I said, dragging a wooden chair across the creaky floor and sitting close to his bed.
The air was thick with tension, the sound of distant thunder rumbling outside adding to the atmosphere.
It’s pouring down outside.
Cobra’s eyes burned with fury as he barked at me. "Leave. Why are you here? Get out."
He is really mad.
I could see how much he hated and hated my presence just looking at his eyes.
Even the darkness around the room was not enough to hide the hatred in his eyes for me.
"Look, man. Do you know how hard it is to sneak out of the room while Anastasia is sleeping without waking her up?" I leaned in, trying to keep my tone light. "I went through all that just to meet you. The least you can do is Appreciate my effort."
Cobra snarled, his voice dripping with contempt and venom. "Get out."
"No, I don’t think so." I folded my arms in my chest, leaning back in the chair. "I’m here to talk and sort some things out with you. Let’s talk man to man."
His growl deepened, reverberating through the room. "Get the heck out of this room, you freak."
"Oh, don’t go there, blondie," I said, a smirk tugging at my lips.
"Seeing you so mad is almost entertaining." My chuckle echoed in the confined space.
"Okay, sorry, sorry. Calm down. I really just want to have a peaceful conversation with you."
Despite my attempts at humor, Cobra’s anger simmered. "Being blond is not even bad. I hate to admit it, but you look decent," I said, trying to lighten the mood and break through his defenses.
Cobra growled again, his eyes narrowing.
I rolled my eyes in exasperation and placed my hand on my chest as if I were offended. "No thank you, Liam? You can at least say ’you too.’"
"You are the ugliest guy I have ever seen in my entire life. Now get the fuck out of this room," Cobra yelled, his voice filled with venom and frustration.
"Damn, I’m hurt," I said, feigning offense and placing a hand over my heart. "I literally came here all dressed up for you, and you can’t appreciate my effort."
His glare grew even more intense, prompting me to get serious. "But seriously, let’s talk now, or at least just listen to me."
I paused, the silence stretching between us, broken only by the distant storm.
Cobra’s breathing was heavy, his anger still palpable, but I hoped my words would eventually break through the wall he had built around himself.
"I will not listen to any of your bullshit, you freak. Get out of this room before I fucking kill you," Cobra snarled at me, his eyes burning with uncontrolled rage as he lay restrained on the bed, his powerful form straining against the cuffs.
I sighed, trying to stay calm. "Well, you do not have much of a choice, buddy. You are stuck here in this room and cuffed to that bed. So I am going to talk anyway, and you will listen because that is the only thing you can do unless you decide to engage in this conversation with me."
Cobra turned his face away, trying to ignore me, but I leaned in closer, determined. "I came here to talk about Anastasia."
That caught his attention. I noticed his muscles tense, but he continued to pretend disinterest, staring at the wall.
"Although she is smiling and acting normally, I can feel how sad and tired she is," I continued, my voice softening with genuine concern. "And although she has me, she still needs you."
Cobra’s eyes flicked towards me, his anger momentarily giving way to curiosity.
I pressed on, sensing a crack in his defenses.
"Anastasia needs her two fated mates with her," I said, leaning forward and locking eyes with him.
He is a very good-looking guy if I had ever seen him around and did not know that he was the Cobra Storm, I would have never expected him to be actually able to create all this mess.
He looks rather innocent.
That makes no sense since he had killed thousands of wolves and taken overpacks that were not his, but I don’t know why his eyes show so much innocence.
"The Moon Goddess destined us for Anastasia for a reason. She must have realized we actually work out somehow."
His face remained stoic, but his silence indicated he was listening. I took a deep breath and continued, "I and my wolf don’t like it. We don’t like that you and I have to share Anastasia. But we are ready to cooperate and work with you for Anastasia. To make her happy."
The room was thick with tension.
His expression was unreadable, his piercing gaze fixed on me.
"Say something, please, blondie," I begged, desperation creeping into my voice. His silence was infuriating.
I tried again, "I will do anything for you to just act civil with me for Anastasia. I’m not asking you to be friends with me, all I’m asking is for you not to be angry or try to attack me."
"Why are you doing this, you freak?" he finally spoke, his voice low and rough, tinged with disbelief.
"Because I want Anastasia to be happy, blondie," I replied earnestly, my eyes softening as I thought of her.
He remained silent, a contemplative look on his face.
When he spoke again, his tone was unexpectedly calm, a stark contrast to his usual aggression.
"You are perfect for Anastasia. You are half an Omega; you can give her kids. It’s like you were made for her. A true-blood and an Omegarian Alpha, it’s a perfect duo. While I’m just a very regular Alpha. I’m pretty sure you can cover my place and make her forget me. You and her go way back anyway, and she actually knows you, unlike me. She never knew who I was before this. So why are you trying?"
I took a deep breath, my heart aching for the burden we both carried. "Because you were also made for her. You are her fated mate, and no matter how perfect you think I am for her, I will never be able to replace you in her heart. She loves you just as much as she loves me. None of us can replace the other in her heart."
I paused, letting my words hang in the air.
"Anastasia has a piece of her heart for herself, I have another piece, and you have the last piece. She needs the two of us with her to have her whole happiness and heart."
He stayed quiet, his eyes locked onto mine.
The storm outside raged on, mirroring the turmoil inside the room.
I sighed, running a hand through my hair. "I will do anything. I can even suppress my Alpha’s wolf and mask his scent if it bothers you that you have to share her with another Alpha. Will that make you less bothered?"
He remained silent, which only added to my frustration. "Dude, come on. Do you want me to go on my knees and beg you?"
"Anything?" he asked, a glimmer of challenge in his eyes.
I nodded firmly, sensing a shift. "Yes, anything."
His eyes narrowed, his voice dangerously calm. "Uncuff me."
I hesitated, considering the risk, but saw a hint of sincerity in his eyes. "Okay, please don’t drink my blood as a fancy wine, blondie."
To my surprise, he chuckled, a rare sound that made me smile.
I began uncuffing him, the metal clinking softly in the tense silence.
As soon as the cuffs were off, he massaged his wrists, glaring at the marks they left.
He looked up at me, a mix of curiosity and defiance in his eyes. "She marked you?"
I bit my lower lip, nodding. "Yeah, sorry about that. We made up. We never did anything after that so you wouldn’t be left out."
He watched me closely, his expression unreadable as he sat up. "I hate these cuffs," he muttered, still rubbing his wrists.
He fixed his gaze on me. "So, how are we going to do this?"
My face lit up with relief and hope. "Thank you, thank you. Well, how about you start going on dates with Anastasia first and get comfortable with each other? Maybe later we can all have a movie night and just get our wolves to get used to us being around. What do you think?"
He hummed thoughtfully, standing up and looking into my excited brown eyes. "I think this is a good idea." I smiled, but his expression suddenly hardened. "But I have a better idea."
"Yeah? What is it? I’ll give it a try—"
Before I could finish, his features twisted in anger.
He pressed his forearm against my neck, slamming me hard against the wall.
It happened so fast that it caught me off guard.
My eyes widened in shock, my vision blurring as the air was forced from my lungs.
His eyes glowed red with fury. "How about I kill you and keep Anastasia all to myself?"
My vision darkened, my body sliding down the wall until I hit the ground, leaving a trail of blood.
His grip loosened, and he stepped back, watching as my consciousness faded away.
