In This Rebirth, The Male Lead Is Mine [BL]
Chapter 237: Villain vs. Protagonist (2)
The spectators could not help but stand up, and they went into an uproar.
Should they stop this? If Epsilon did not dodge that, then he would surely be severely injured. Everyone exchanged glances and waited to see who would stoop and stop the fight.
However, the two in the training ground were only starting. Epsilon’s face went serious as he looked at the mark of Rise’s fist on the wall, which was now being mended by the training ground’s restoring ability.
To think this was only from Rise’s punch, as his hand did not really land on the wall. Epsilon glared in Rise’s direction and saw the unconcealed killing intent in his eyes.
Rise grinned. "Do you think we’re playing right now?" His face went serious. "I’ll test your protagonist halo, bitch."
The pressure surrounding them increased to the point that the restoring ability of the place could not keep up with the intensity of the damage every second.
Epsilon’s eyes flickered; the weapons and even heavy objects around floated and flew towards him. Some were pointing towards Rise. His hand clenched, and the huge chunk of the floor also began to be lifted from the ground.
Rise noticed it as he jumped from the floor. At the same time that the floor floated towards him, the katanas and swords around, pointing at him, began to fly and attack him.
Rise had no choice but to end his chase and defend himself by concentrating the force field around him. The floor was shattered as a result, and the swords gradually crumpled up under the pressure.
He had yet to sigh in relief when a presence arrived behind him, and Rise almost could not dodge Epsilon slashing towards him.
Their eyes met as Rise held both of his palms and the sword in Epsilon’s palm, which quickly crumpled into a ball, leading to him needing to withdraw his hand; otherwise, his hand would also become crippled.
At this, their distance became closer.
"Your halo isn’t much, Epsilon," Rise smirked, but his gaze filled with pure rage. Whether then or now, he found him extremely unpleasant.
Epsilon smiled. "Who said that? You don’t know how this world favors me."
Then a loud boom resounded, and at Rise’s back a huge chunk of the floor floated again, about to slam into Rise; at his front was the debris of the floor before. They shielded and protected Epsilon from the short distance from Rise.
"You can’t easily kill me, Rise."
His hands then slowly clenched, and the floor shattered into huge chunks and began to fall toward Rise. Rise bit his lips and looked up; there was just too much.
He had to concentrate his focus on defending himself, but there were not just rocks but also weapons pointing at him. He resolved himself. Well, who cares if he could get injured?
Rise’s eyes flickered, and he stared at Epsilon. The look in his eyes made Epsilon’s smirk falter slightly.
"Well, the same for me. You can’t easily kill me."
Rise did not know about that, but as he said, he would drag Epsilon to hell first. Without any hesitation, Rise moved towards Epsilion before the other could react.
The force field around him stretched to encompass Epsilon, much more concentrated this time.
Epsilon’s eyes widened. "What are you doing?" he found himself unable to move. Given time, he would be able to. However, would Rise give him time?
Ris smirked as he bypassed the debris before him. The wall behind him continued to advance toward him. "I’m checking your protagonist’s halo, remember?"
"You’re crazy!" Epsilon shouted. Even he could not easily stop the massive chunks from falling now, as he had already unleashed them.
Its target was Rise... And if Rise came to him, then he would be implicated too. His body moved slightly, but not enough to escape.
Rise laughed, eyes sparkling in glee. 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖
"That’s right! I’m fucking crazy!" he yelled as the distance between them closed. The projectiles around them also descended.
It did not end there. Rise even withdrew his ability around and concentrated only on Epsilon so as not to let him escape. It meant he was not even protecting himself.
Epsilon’s terrified face made Rise throw all caution to the wind. He was suddenly blinded by rage and the satisfaction in seeing that annoying face in a desperate situation as he did.
"Will you survive with me or perish? We’ll find out."
Rise whispered and waited for everything to descend to crash them. However, what he was expecting did not happen. The rocks and everything did not land on them.
Instead, the place was suddenly engulfed by a whirlwind; a cold breeze occupied the training ground. The projectiles around were swept away until nothing was left.
Rise paused and snapped out of it. He blinked; he already had a guess as to who had done this. Of course, only one person could have done this.
His ability withdrew, as his shoulders dropped. Epsilon’s knees buckled, but he stood his ground. His eyes were only focusing behind Rise, eyes wide.
Rise did not look back, though. He was afraid...
What if?
The meeting he dreaded had come after all... Rise closed his eyes and lowered his head. Gone was his confidence, only uncertainty.
Until an arm embraced him from behind. Rise’s eyes snapped open. The arm around him tightened as he felt a breath brushing past against his right ear.
"You have some explaining to do, Rise."
Rise bit his lips, and slowly, he turned his head and met those crimson pupils looking at him with obvious displeasure. Yet, there was something more.
The way the arm around him tightened and trembled.
"I’m sorry," he uttered, as he knew the reason why. Kamille was... terrified by the scene earlier.
Kamille nodded his head, and his gaze shifted to Epslion, who fell silent and only stared at him.
Rise held on to Kamille’s arm around him as the two finally met. His eyes were observing Kamille’s expression and whether there were obvious changes in his face.
"You are Epsilon," Kamille calmly uttered the name.
Epsilon nodded and was about to smile and return to his usual demeanor when his lips twitched as Kamille turned to Rise again.
"This is my proof."
Without looking at Epsilon, the wind kept up, and they surrounded Epsilon before he could react; his body floated, wind blades pointed at him.
