Infinite Bloodline Evolution: Start By Building A Great Monster Clan
Chapter 50: Powerful
Beren smiled as shadows rolled, twisting around Thaedric like a small tornado. He turned his back and raised his hands. "The is the most easiest fight ever..."
But the shouting of the audience didn’t come. Instead what he heard was gasping as they pointed at something behind him. Beren froze. "Impossible....."
Thaedric swung his mace at his midsection and sent him sprawling sideways. He grinned. "So your powers is shadow? Too bad you can’t even scratch me."
Beren coughed blood and held his side with his hands as if he could mend his broken ribs with clutching it. He raised his head, sweat beaded his face. "How? My shadows should have tear you apart."
"Hum? You meant the claws that was formed inside the twisting shadow? Maybe but they are too weak." Sandskar blocked it all.
Beren gritted his teeth. Then he sat down on the ground and put his two hands, palm down flat on the stone floor. "I went far too easy on you."
"More shadows?" Thaedric asked, he raised his mace again. ’This time I will go for his head’
Thaedric felt power flow from Beren and down into the ground and it made it shuddered. Stone spikes formed and shot up in a straight line at Thaedric. He smashed them all with his weapon.
More spikes shot up, bigger and longer than before and if not for Sandskar protecting him he would have been pierced from behind as spikes grew to surround him.
He broke them all.
"All your tricks are meaningless before my mace, Beren." Thaedric began to walk slowly towards his wounded opponent.
He clenched his jaw. "Meaningless? I’ve only just began!"
Thaedric raised his brows. "And how are you able to move the stones? I thought shadow is your power."
Beren smiled. "Won’t you just like to know?"
He gave it a thought before Thaedric shook his head. "No need. I’ll just pound your head into the stone."
"You bastard!" Beren added more power.
The floor shook and the stone in front of Thaedric twisted before a stone pillar as big as him shot out. It slammed into Thaedric, stopped by Sandskar’s shield but the force still threw him back.
"Yes!" Beren said, then clutched his side, he was breathing hard and sweat was drippings now.
’What powerful strike’ Sandskar said.
"Yes." Thaedric muttered. And Beren is strong, he could control stone and shadow. Thaedric started walking faster towards him, he wanted to end it as fast as he could now, no need to play around anymore.
Beren must have seen it in his eyes because he raised one hand in the air and left the other palm down on the stone. The one up in the air glowed and the wind shifted visibly.
Thaedric paused. Chunk of stones rose uo into the air and then the winds gathered by Beren slammed into them and sent them all to him.
"Three elements now." Thaedric said. He just stayed there and let Sandskar do his work as big stones rained on his shield. Finally it died down and Thaedric enjoyed the surprise on Beren’s face as the dust cleared and he saw him.
"You have a unique bloodline technique." Thaedric was walking forward again as if nothing happened. The audience were silent now and the only sound was his shoe meeting stone floor. "What does you bloodline technique does?"
Beren looked up into the face of his opponent and shivered. "I...my Bloodline technique makes it possible for me to fuse temporary with things and control it."
"Well then, that’s interesting." Thaedric turned then and began walking away.
"Wait...won’t you finish me off?" Beren shouted.
Thaedric rested his mace on his right shoulder. "You?" And as if on cue, Beren fainted. His wound and energy depletion finally getting to him.
The whole arena was still silent. And it took Gamemaster a while to call the Victor. Almost all the audience bet against Thaedric and he did as he said. He made them regret it.
"What’s his power?"
He heard them whispering, both the audience and the siting fighters.
"Is it to make invisible shields?"
"I thought he’ll have a strong offensive with all his stuttering around! Maybe he’s not as powerful as he let on!"
"Sheeees he’ll hear you!"
Thaedric ignored them as he handed his weapon over to Urlk and made his way up. He glanced at the side where the Crime lords were sitting. Lady Arachne was giving him a curious look, she didn’t seem to be that angry at her loss.
Orso was hiding his satisfaction but his eyes shone.
"You took longer than I thought you’d take!" Malak said immediately Thaedric sat down.
"He’s powerful." It was the truth but Thaedric could probably have finished with that first strike if he wanted. He just wanted to drag the fight out.
Malak snorted and turned to face the new fighters.
The audience were now cautious on who to bet for and they hardly cheer for the new fighters. Thaedric smirked. ’Good’ he thought.
Then he caught it, the glance that was sent his way by Gorvo, a quick sneak look. It made Thaedric smiled even more. ’So I catch some attention’
The next matches finished quickly and that was it for the day but not the end. A party was thrown for the fighters. It was said that it was for the fighters but in reality it was for the vip of the Crumbs to meet.
"I’m getting bored of this." Malak said. He held alcohol in each hand, the cups half full. "Just siting and drinking isn’t my thing."
"What about drinking and fighting?" Thaedric asked absent minded. He was trying to look for the person that served him the poisoned drink. He tasted the poison immediately he brought it to his mouth and he had paused, then took a sip.
He saw the woman that served him, she was dressed in white and black of the servers and instead of making her way towards the corner where the drinks were coming from, she went to Lady Arachne’s side and said something to her. 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖
Arachne look over at Thaedric and he smiled, lifted his poisoned cup and drank the whole thing while looking at her.
