Infinite Rebate: I Get Richer Every Time I Spend
Chapter 11: One Punch Massacre
From the attitudes of Max and the other two, one could clearly see the depth of their relationship with Lucas.
Of course, Lucas found the retreating actions of Ben and Luke perfectly normal. He felt not a hint of disappointment or anger. Although they had shared a dormitory for several years, their relationship had always been lukewarm.
You could not expect someone to risk their life for you just because you treated them to a barbecue.
Furthermore, the group led by Blaze were clearly street thugs. With their fierce and menacing appearances, they were the type of people ordinary students would usually avoid, let alone dare to get involved with.
Even if Max, with whom he had a relatively better relationship, retreated with them, Lucas could fully understand.
Yet Max not only did not retreat but instead threatened to call the police. This moved Lucas deeply.
Upon hearing Max’s words, Zack and the group led by Blaze, despite their menacing expressions, did not dare to act rashly.
Max was absolutely right. Even if he did not call the police, fighting in a place with surveillance cameras could land them in the police station by tomorrow.
However, Zack did not want to let such a rare opportunity slip by. He used a provocative tone and said, "Lucas, weren’t you so tough this afternoon? If you’ve really got guts and are a real man, then follow us to the alley out back!"
The group led by Blaze also looked at Lucas with provocative expressions.
Lucas chuckled upon hearing this. He did not have a concrete gauge of exactly how powerful his fighting skills were. It was the perfect opportunity to let these small-time thugs test the true strength of his "Three-Person Slash."
He sneered, "Whether I am a real man, you will find out in a moment."
As he said this, he turned to Max and the others, saying, "Max, you guys wait here for me. I will be right back. Whatever you do, do not call the police!"
Upon hearing this, Max looked anxious. Although Lucas was quite tall, two of the opponents were just as big as him, and the combat strength of the two sides was clearly not on the same level. Zack’s provocation was obvious, yet Lucas was actually going to walk right into it.
He hurriedly tried to persuade him, "Lucas, do not try to be a hero. They would not dare do anything to us here!"
Lucas could only appreciate Max’s good intentions. While he was not someone who sought out violence or aggression, after suddenly discovering he possessed great fighting skills, he could not help but feel his blood boil when faced with a provocation. After a brief spar with the fatty at the jewelry store this afternoon, he still felt like he had not had enough.
He gave Max a reassuring look. Then, he turned his head to cast a look of contempt at the group led by Blaze before walking towards the alley first.
Zack was completely baffled by Lucas’s actions. Did not Lucas realize his provocation was so obvious? He was overjoyed, already imagining the scene of Lucas being beaten to his knees in his mind.
He and the group led by Blaze followed right after, not forgetting to threaten Max and the others before they left, warning them not to call the police.
Watching them walk away, Max, Ben, and Luke looked at each other with expressions of confusion. A thought simultaneously occurred to all of them.
"What the hell is Lucas felling like recently a?"
Otherwise, it was truly impossible to understand such an unwise move. Max suppressed the urge to follow them. For him, doing what he had just done for Lucas was already the limit of what could be expected of him. He checked the time on his phone, deciding that if Lucas had not come out in ten minutes, he would still choose to call the police.
Lucas and Zack’s group entered the alley one after another. The group led by Blaze did not forget to look around for surveillance cameras. Although there were lights in this area, it was a blind spot, making it the perfect place to start a fight.
Blaze was quite impressed by Lucas’s courage, though he never once considered the possibility that the other party could actually take on five or six people at once. This was not a TV drama, after all. Such fantastical things could not possibly happen.
He arrogantly spoke first, "You have got guts, kid. It is my first time seeing a hotheaded youth like you who is not afraid of death. I will give you a chance. Kneel down, apologize, and pay ten thousand dollars, and we will call it even!"
Upon hearing this, Zack hurriedly said, "Blaze, is not that letting him off too easily? I have to slap him across the face twice to vent my anger!"
Blaze was not angry at Zack’s words. They were all low-level thugs who loved dealing with second-generation rich kids like Zack, who had a bit of money at home.
He continued, speaking arrogantly to Lucas, "Did you hear that? Later, obediently lean your face over, let Zack slap you twice, and then agree to the conditions I just mentioned.
Lucas had actually been checking the surroundings for surveillance cameras earlier.
This kind of pre-arranged fight would not count as self-defense. Regardless of whether he was the weaker party, if they were investigated, he could still end up at the police station.
Seeing that there were no cameras around, he felt relieved.
Seeing them still dawdling, he said very impatiently, "If you are going to fight, hurry up. I still have to go out for barbecue later!"
Hearing Lucas’s words, Zack, Blaze, and the others were absolutely furious. Damn it, this guy clearly did not take them seriously at all.
With his explosive temper, Blaze rushed forward first. When his sandbag-sized fist was ten centimeters from Lucas’s face, it was firmly caught by Lucas. Then, he immediately followed up with a sweeping kick.
"Ouch!"
Accompanied by this cry, Blaze’s body slammed heavily onto the ground. The movement had been so fast that before anyone could react, Blaze was already lying on the ground.
And judging by the continuous groans of pain as he lay on the ground, he had clearly lost the ability to fight.
This was because Lucas had held back. Had he used his full strength, that sweeping kick could have broken his ribs.
The other thugs, having regained their senses and realizing Lucas was a formidable fighter, immediately swarmed him. Seeing this, Lucas sneered and charged forward first.
Except for two of the sturdier thugs who managed to endure a few hits before falling, the other two thugs essentially lost their ability to fight after a single punch.
Although Lucas took a few hits, with his current physical fitness, it felt like nothing more than a tickle.
The main reason he was able to win against several opponents with such a huge advantage was that they were just ordinary petty thugs with virtually no combat ability.
The tattoos on their arms were just things to scare ordinary people.
The scene of them lying on the ground groaning in pain had completely terrified Zack, who was watching from behind.
Although the group led by Blaze were not real underworld hitmen, they were somewhat well-known among the thugs outside of school.
They were the cream of the crop among the thugs Zack knew. Who would have thought they would be taken down by Lucas in mere moments!
