Infinite Rebate: I Get Richer Every Time I Spend
Chapter 31: Wait, She’s a 9.2?!
The moment Lucas and Sofia stepped out of the cafeteria, a familiar mechanical voice suddenly echoed inside Lucas’s mind.
[Ding! Sofia Favorability +5]
[Ding! Sofia Favorability +5]
[Current Favorability: 60]
[When Sofia’s favorability toward the host reaches 100, the system will reward a Super Gift Pack.]
Lucas paused slightly.
Surprise flashed across his face.
Honestly, he had been mentally preparing for the exact opposite.
After what had just happened inside the cafeteria, he genuinely thought Sofia’s impression of him might drop. Getting dragged into messy drama involving an obsessive ex was hardly pleasant. 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂
Not to mention Jessica had almost dragged her into a public fight.
Even Lucas himself felt embarrassed.
How was he even supposed to face Sofia after that?
Yet unexpectedly, not only had her favorability not dropped, it had increased.
A faint smile unconsciously appeared on his lips.
Looks like things turned out much better than expected.
Meanwhile, Sofia quietly walked beside him, occasionally lowering her head to fix the strands of messy hair Jessica had ruined earlier.
Part of her makeup had smudged slightly, and under normal circumstances, she would have absolutely hated being seen looking like this.
Especially in front of someone she liked.
But strangely enough, right now, she did not care.
Not even a little.
Because her heart was still beating ridiculously fast.
The scene inside the cafeteria kept replaying inside her mind.
The way Lucas stood in front of her.
The way he defended her without hesitation.
The way he grabbed her hand and led her out in front of everyone.
Honestly, no girl could stay completely unaffected after something like that.
At least, Sofia could not.
In her eyes, Lucas had already made things very obvious.
Why else would a guy defend a girl like that?
Why else would he choose her so openly in front of his ex?
The more Sofia thought about it, the warmer her chest felt.
A small smile unconsciously appeared on her lips.
Even the embarrassment from her ruined makeup no longer mattered.
After walking quietly for a while, Lucas suddenly cleared his throat.
Then scratched the back of his head awkwardly.
"Uh... sorry about earlier," he said.
"I didn’t expect Jessica to go that crazy."
His tone carried genuine guilt.
"Because of me, your meal got ruined."
Sofia blinked.
Then looked at him in slight surprise.
Honestly, she had not blamed him even once.
If anything, she had been secretly happy.
Very happy.
Still, she quickly shook her head.
"It’s not your fault," she said softly.
"If anyone should apologize, it’s Jessica."
After a brief pause, she lightly touched her messy hair and laughed awkwardly.
"I should probably head back to the dorm though."
She pointed helplessly at herself.
"I look like a disaster right now."
Lucas instinctively glanced at her.
Messy hair.
Slightly ruined makeup.
Yet somehow, she still looked ridiculously pretty.
For a moment, he almost said it out loud.
Fortunately, he stopped himself in time.
"Alright," he said with a smile. "Go get some rest."
Sofia nodded.
But just as she turned to leave, she hesitated slightly.
Almost like she wanted to say something else.
In the end, though, she only smiled softly.
"See you later, Lucas."
Then she walked away.
Lucas stood there quietly for a moment before letting out a small sigh.
Looks like she really believes the lottery rumor.
At this point, the entire school probably did.
Eight million dollars.
For an ordinary student, that amount was enough to completely change someone’s life.
But to Lucas?
He could not even feel excited about numbers like that anymore.
After everything that had happened recently, his perspective had quietly changed.
Lottery money?
That was nothing.
Especially when over twenty-two million dollars was already sitting comfortably inside his account.
And the craziest part?
His money was still growing.
Fast.
Very fast.
Lucas lowered his head and glanced at his phone.
A faint grin slowly spread across his face.
Honestly...
Being rich felt pretty damn good.
Lucas had barely taken a few steps toward the hostel when he suddenly heard someone calling his name from behind.
"Lucas!"
The voice sounded hurried.
He turned instinctively.
A girl was running toward him at full speed, one hand clutching the strap of her bag while the other waved frantically in his direction.
Lucas paused.
For a brief second, his attention unconsciously shifted.
Her long hair swayed wildly as she ran, and the movement of her body made it obvious she had rushed out without thinking twice. The fitted shirt she wore stretched tightly against her figure, and judging by the way she moved, she clearly was not wearing a bra.
Lucas blinked.
Then blinked again.
Damn.
Even from a distance, he could tell.
This girl was stunning.
Her looks were easily above Sofia’s level.
Not overwhelmingly glamorous like some social media influencers, but naturally attractive in a way that made people look twice without realizing it.
The closer she got, the more familiar her face became.
Lucas narrowed his eyes slightly.
Wait...
He had definitely seen her before.
Then suddenly, it clicked.
Sienna Hart.
Jessica’s roommate.
Back when he was still dating Jessica, Lucas had crossed paths with Sienna several times at the girls’ dormitory.
To him, the two girls were practically birds of the same feather.
The only real difference?
Sienna was far more beautiful than Jessica.
If Jessica could already be considered attractive in the Finance Department, then Sienna was on an entirely different level.
Even Jessica, with all her pride and arrogance, unconsciously followed Sienna’s lead most of the time.
Whether it was choosing outfits, gossiping about classmates, or making decisions, Jessica often treated Sienna’s opinions like they were absolute truth.
Almost like she worshipped her.
Which made Lucas even more confused.
Someone like Sienna had barely acknowledged his existence before.
So why was she suddenly running after him now?
As Sienna finally stopped in front of him, slightly out of breath, Lucas instinctively noticed something else.
The top buttons of her shirt looked dangerously strained, as though they might surrender at any moment if she breathed too hard.
He instantly understood.
Ah.
She was probably here because of Jessica.
Either to apologize.
Or maybe beg him to forgive that crazy woman.
Honestly?
He already felt annoyed just thinking about it.
His mood cooled slightly.
"Is there something you need from me?" Lucas asked calmly.
His tone was not rude.
But it definitely was not warm either.
Truthfully speaking, Lucas felt a faint sense of resistance the moment he remembered she had once lived with Jessica.
No matter how attractive she was, anyone remotely connected to Jessica automatically lost points in his mind.
Still, since the Infinite Rebate System existed, Lucas forced himself to stay patient.
Who knew?
Maybe she was another potential target.
Just as that thought crossed his mind, the system notification suddenly appeared.
[Ding!]
[Sienna Hart Comprehensive Score: 9.2]
Lucas froze.
