Infinite Rebate: I Get Richer Every Time I Spend
Chapter 32: My Ex Left Me, Her Roommate Came Running
Although Sienna was undeniably beautiful, Lucas had never paid much attention to her before. Back when he was hopelessly obsessed with Jessica, his entire world revolved around that bitch alone.
As long as Jessica existed in the room, everyone else automatically faded into the background. Looking back now, Lucas genuinely felt ridiculous.
How blind had he been? A beauty like Sienna had been right there all along, yet he never once properly noticed her.
Truthfully speaking, Sienna’s features were exceptional. Delicate facial features, smooth fair skin, naturally bright eyes, boobs and a body that easily turned heads without even trying.
Unlike Jessica, whose beauty leaned more toward arrogance and maintenance, Sienna carried herself with a quieter elegance. Even earlier at the cafeteria, Lucas vaguely remembered noticing her from afar. At the time, he simply brushed it off.
Of course, that did not mean his impression of her was particularly good.
After all, she was Jessica’s roommate.
In Lucas’s eyes, people who stayed around Jessica too long were usually cut from the same cloth.
Birds of the same feather flock together.
The only real difference was that Sienna happened to be prettier, while Jessica practically treated her opinions like divine instructions.
Half the time, Jessica acted as though Sienna was some kind of goddess whose words could never be wrong.
Still, since the Infinite Rebate System existed, Lucas had no intention of immediately shutting people out. Especially someone with looks like this.
At worst, she had ulterior motives.
At best...
She might be useful.
Sienna tucked a strand of hair behind her ear before finally speaking, her expression carrying a trace of awkwardness.
"Lucas... we all heard about what happened between you and Jessica."
The moment those words came out, Lucas instantly lost interest.
Ah.
Here we go again.
He had seen this script before.
She was probably here to defend Jessica. Maybe say something about how relationships needed stability, how poverty destroyed love, or how he should stop clinging to reality and move on with dignity.
In short, the usual nonsense people loved saying after someone got dumped.
Lucas immediately waved a hand dismissively.
"Relax," he said calmly, already sounding tired of the conversation. "Jessica and I are done."
"From now on, we’re people living in two completely different worlds."
He shrugged lightly.
"I’m not chasing after her anymore, and honestly, I’d appreciate it if she stopped disturbing my life too."
With that, Lucas turned around, clearly ready to leave.
But before he could take more than two steps...
Sienna hurriedly stepped in front of him.
"No, Lucas," she said quickly, shaking her head. "You misunderstood."
Her voice sounded unexpectedly sincere.
"That’s not why I came."
Lucas paused.
For the first time since she arrived, genuine confusion flickered across his face.
Sienna hesitated briefly before taking a small breath.
"Actually..." she said softly, lowering her eyes slightly, "I’ve been disgusted with Jessica’s behavior for a long time."
Lucas blinked.
What?
Sienna continued before he could interrupt.
"Honestly, I always hoped you’d see her true colors sooner." Her tone turned quieter, almost guilty. "You treated her really well, Lucas. Sometimes... way better than she deserved."
She laughed bitterly to herself.
"Watching everything happen honestly made me feel bad for you."
Lucas stood there for a second, genuinely caught off guard.
That...
Was definitely not what he expected.
Before he could even process it, Sienna suddenly straightened her posture and bowed deeply toward him.
"As Jessica’s roommate..." she said sincerely, "I want to apologize to you on her behalf."
Lucas froze.
Completely froze.
His brain nearly short-circuited.
Wait.
What?
Jessica dumped me.
And somehow YOU are apologizing?
What kind of logic is this?
He almost laughed from pure confusion.
You’re her roommate, not her mother.
Still...
The moment Sienna bent forward—
Lucas’s thoughts took a dangerous detour.
His eyes widened slightly.
Because from this angle...
Well.
Certain things suddenly became extremely noticeable.
The soft curve of her figure.
The faint glimpse between her collar.
The top buttons of her shirt looking like overworked soldiers fighting for survival.
Lucas immediately looked away.
Then accidentally looked back.
Then immediately looked away again.
Damn.
Maybe university life really was beautiful after all.
Back then, he had thought dating Jessica meant reaching the peak.
Now?
It felt like he had escaped one crooked tree and accidentally stumbled into an entire forest.
After standing there awkwardly for several seconds longer than necessary, Lucas finally cleared his throat and gently helped Sienna straighten up.
"You really don’t need to apologize," he said awkwardly.
"You didn’t do anything wrong."
For some reason, Lucas suddenly felt slightly embarrassed. His face even heated up a little, and he found himself avoiding direct eye contact.
Unfortunately for him..
Sienna noticed everything.
And instead of stepping back...
She stepped closer.
Much closer.
Close enough that Lucas could faintly smell the soft fragrance coming from her hair.
Her voice lowered slightly, soft and gentle.
"Honestly..." she said quietly, "there are a lot of girls at Ashford University prettier than Jessica."
Her lips curved into a faint smile.
"And smarter too."
She tilted her head slightly.
"So don’t feel discouraged."
Then she looked directly into his eyes.
"You’re actually really outstanding, Lucas."
"You deserve someone much better."
After saying that, she blinked softly at him.
Lucas nearly choked.
Holy shit.
Don’t tell me...
Does she actually like me?
For one terrifying second, Lucas almost believed it.
Almost.
Then
He glanced at the floating system prompt above her head.
[Favorability: 30]
Lucas immediately regained clarity.
Thirty points.
That was barely acquaintance level.
Not friendship.
Definitely not love.
This woman was acting way too friendly for someone whose favorability sat at thirty.
Which only meant one thing.
She had motives.
Lucas narrowed his eyes slightly.
Then suddenly...
Everything clicked.
The rumors.
The lottery.
The timing.
Of course.
She had definitely heard people saying he won eight million dollars.
And somehow, magically...
Jessica’s beautiful roommate suddenly decided to chase him down and apologize?
Too convenient.
Way too convenient.
She had probably been watching nearby for a while and finally found her chance.
Honestly?
Lucas almost wanted to laugh.
So that was the game.
She wanted a piece of the pie.
But after thinking for a moment...
He decided he did not mind.
Not at all.
Because unlike Jessica..
Sienna’s beauty score could actually trigger ten-times rebates.
And more importantly...
She was Jessica’s roommate.
Lucas had been wondering how exactly to make Jessica regret everything.
Now?
A perfect opportunity had practically walked up and delivered itself to him.
