Inner Thoughts Exposed: Reborn General's Farming Daughter Has a System
Chapter 60: Let Him Stay On the Bed
Xiao Fenghao’s left hand was broken. He also suffered from mild concussion which needed around two weeks until a month of recovery. On top of his other injuries, he might need to lie down on his bed for more than two weeks.
"I will monitor his recovery," Physician Li told the Xiao family, intending to visit once every few days.
He didn’t forget to warn Xiao Fenghao. "Don’t move too much, especially with your hand. Your left hand will need over a month to recover."
Xiao Fenghao pursed his dry lips unhappily. A month was too long. At this moment, he realized how impulsive he had been yesterday. However, he didn’t regret it.
At least, their uncle wouldn’t bother them for the time being. During the time Physician Li was examining him, they suddenly heard the notification that Xiao Qingya’s latest mission was completed.
Not long after, their little aunt, Zhou Shuran, briefly dropped by to deliver some medicine and food. She wanted to stay longer and accompany her nephew. Alas, she couldn’t.
Her father had warned her not to stay for too long. Lest their mother would use her to make trouble for her elder sister again. Chen Huayun could visit the Xiao family by making an excuse that she was taking Zhou Shuran back.
They knew Chen Huayun’s temperament quite well.
Their little aunt had told them that their grandfather was currently teaching Zhou Shiming a lesson, which could keep him busy for some time.
Zhou Shuran never stated what it was, and her face also had a tinge of confusion. It seemed that she was also unaware and only responsible for relaying the news.
Physician Li took his leave not long after he was done checking Xiao Fenghao.
At this moment, Xiao Qingya was deeply puzzled. [The mission just got finished like that?]
[Little Ya, your aunt told your family that your grandfather is punishing a certain turtle right now. It must have been the reason.]
The System proceeded to tell her about its analysis.
[Previously, even though your uncle had reduced your second brother into such a state, he hadn’t given up on destroying your family’s crops yet. Now, your grandfather’s action had prevented him from doing so.]
Upon hearing the explanation from the System, everyone had a mixed feeling. Especially Xiao Fenghao who clenched his right fist, almost reopening his wounds again.
He groaned in pain, and Xiao Yuxi rolled her eyes at her brother. "Mother, let me brew Second Brother’s medicine."
She took the package of medicine brought by Physician Li and went to the kitchen. Xiao Qingya was thirsty, and she followed her like a little tail.
Zhou Anran saw that Xiao Yuxi forgot to bring one herb brought by her younger sister and headed toward the kitchen to deliver it.
Although it wasn’t as important as the herbs prescribed by Physician Li, he had told them that the herb was good to enhance Xiao Fenghao’s immunity.
As soon as her mother left, Xiao Yuyan heaved a sigh of relief. Her eyes fell on her mother’s figure. Has she found out about it?
"Xi’er, you forgot this herb," Zhou Anran reminded.
"Oh, right. Thank you, Mother." Xiao Yuxi nodded.
Suddenly they heard Xiao Qingya’s question to the System.
[My points should be enough to buy the lowest level of recovery potion. Second Brother is still young, so this potion should be quite effective for him. Shall I purchase it?]
The System didn’t answer her rhetorical question, letting the little one decide for herself.
Zhou Anran pursed her lips, and she turned to Xiao Yuxi. In a stern tone, she reminded her daughter.
"Xi’er, don’t bother putting any honey to sweeten the decoction. Your brother has been too reckless this time. He should use his two weeks’ time on the bed to ponder and reflect on himself." She shook her head, her face resembled an angry parent.
Xiao Qingya gulped.
[I think I won’t buy that recovery potion anymore. My mother is wise! Second Brother was indeed too reckless previously...]
The System immediately replied cheerfully, full of support.
[That also sounds good, Host. Perhaps after this incident, your brother will start to use his brain more. If he gets smarter, we can have an easier time completing the missions in his story.]
Xiao Yuxi was dumbfounded upon hearing the blatant disdain in her little sister and the System’s words. She couldn’t help but start to feel a little sympathy for her second brother.
Luckily, he didn’t hear their conversation.
She also began to reflect on her previous actions. Has she been using her brain before she acts?
Although Xiao Qingya felt sorry for her second brother, she hardened her heart and stopped looking through the system’s shop. The System was experienced with the plot of many novels. Hence, she believed its judgement.
Her second brother’s story hadn’t been unlocked for now, but judging from his rash personality, even she felt that he would most likely be cannon fodder.
She convinced herself that it was the best decision for her second brother.
Still, when her mother and sisters weren’t looking, she stuffed her baby bottle into her brother’s mouth, letting him drink from her bottle.
Xiao Fenghao’s eyes widened. He had no choice but to swallow the water. "Li...tle... Ya..."
Unfortunately, his mouth was also wounded, and he couldn’t speak properly without pain. Soon, he hissed and took a deep breath, feeling a wave of unbearable pain.
The list of medicine in the system’s shop had been upgraded, and she finally was able to purchase a painkiller with a small number of points.
Of course, it wasn’t that effective, but was enough to alleviate some of Xiao Fenghao’s pain.
Once she was done, Xiao Qingya was satisfied. She pulled back her baby bottle from her brother’s lip and ran to the kitchen to put it among the dirty kitchen utensils.
"Eldest Brother?" Xiao Qingya’s eyes suddenly lit up when she heard about him from her mother and sister’s discussion.
"Little Ya, come here. Eldest Brother sent us a letter." Xiao Yuxi patted her lap, motioning Xiao Qingya to come over.
The little one waddled over, peering at the letter curiously. Soon, her eyes widened.
