Chapter 2913: Assassination

Zu An and Tushan Yu exchanged shocked looks.

Lozento was actually aware of Tologa’s betrayal, and he'd subdued Tologa with absolute ease.

“What do you mean by this?” Pimosh asked with a frown.

“You should know better. You colluded with him to use my Blood Sea Army as tribute. Did you think I was really unaware of it?” Lozento asked coldly.

Pimosh calmly replied, “Did you hear about that from Princess Liuli?”

Zu An felt uneasy. He knows about Princess Liuli. Did they find Xihe and the others?

Kacha!

Lozento snapped Tologa’s neck.

To think that the Asuras’ vice-commander would be killed so easily, like a little chick.

“It’s all to revive the Asura Progenitor Demon God. With his revival, we’ll be able to defeat the Celestials and cleanse the Asuras’ shame. Their sacrifice will be worthwhile,” Pimosh said with a zealous expression.

Lozento was infuriated. “You’re sacrificing the elite Blood Sea Army to revive a god that might not necessarily exist? Even if he comes back to life, there’s no guarantee that he’ll help us fight against the Celestial World. If the Asuras lost all their elites as a result, the victory would also be meaningless.”

“How is it meaningless? As long as we govern the Celestial World, we’ll have an ocean of resources at our disposal! It won’t take long for our Asuras to recover from the blow and surpass our previous peak. Our descendants will be thankful for their sacrifice!” Pimosh was imagining the bright future awaiting them after their victory. 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺

Lozento was shocked. “You’re out of your mind! You're blinded with hatred for the Celestial World because of what happened with Shezhi back then. You’re just exploiting our people for your own private vendetta!”

“Private vendetta?” Pimosh was enraged to hear that. “Which of us doesn’t have a deep grudge against the Celestial World? Would you have staged an uprising with me if not for your son dying in the hands of the Celestials?”

Zu An widened his eyes in realization. No wonder Princess Liuli mentioned that Lozento was upright and couldn’t understand why he had participated in the uprising.

“Yes, I want vengeance for my son, but I’m not going to sacrifice my brethren for that!” Lozento roared.

“You are the Blood Sea Army’s commander. You have fought many battles against the Celestials. You should know what our odds are better than anyone!”

Lozento fell silent. Indeed, they had lost more than they had won in recent years. The Asuras were on the decline, and it didn’t look like they would be able to turn the tables anymore.

Pimosh softened his tone and said, “I know you don’t want to sacrifice your subordinates, but don’t you see that this is all for the Asura World? At this rate, the Asura World will be destroyed, and many more of our brethren will die as a result. This bit of sacrifice is worthwhile as long as we defeat the Celestials!”

Lozento, as the Asura War God, wasn't so weak as to be easily swayed. “You keep talking about sacrificing for the greater good, so why don’t you do so?”

“I’d happily sacrifice myself if it means defeating the Celestials, but I have to be around to ensure that everything goes according to plan. I can’t die yet,” Pimosh replied.

Lozento scoffed in disdain, “You have no qualms sacrificing others, but you sure have a lot of excuses when it comes to sacrificing yourself.”

Pimosh’s face turned cold. “I wanted you on board to maximize our odds of victory, but it looks like you simply refuse to see sense.”

Lozento sneered, “Why? Are you planning to make a move on me?”

Instead of answering that question, Pimosh remarked, “I don’t know why you dare to meet me alone in the Abyss of Eternal Night when you already know about my plan.”

Lozento proudly replied, “Have you forgotten my title?”

Pimosh laughed. “Indeed, you’re our Asura War God. Even the Asura King might not be a match for you in a one-on-one battle. You must think that you can subdue me with ease.”

Lozento frowned. “There is one thing you are right about. A war against the Celestials is imminent. We don’t have many experts in our ranks. I don’t want to have an internal conflict with you at this juncture, lest we lose a powerhouse even before the war begins. So, you better stay put and don’t try anything.” With that, he turned around to leave via the black vortex door.

All of a sudden, Lozento’s eyes widened as he hurriedly dodged to the side. At the same time, he hurled a punch forth to push back the attacking enemy. “Pimosh, are you seeking death?” He couldn’t understand why Pimosh was attacking him despite being the weaker one.

Pimosh laughed. “Do you really think you can defeat me?”

Lozento frowned. “Where does your confidence stem from? We both know you aren’t a match for me. We’re the only ones here. Why aren’t you nervous in the least?”

“You already know that I’m working with the Devils. Have you forgotten about their traits?” Pimosh laughed eerily.

Lozento’s face warped in shock. A light shone from his body as he did everything he could to guard against an unknown threat.

Nevertheless, it was still too late. A shadow was cast on his body the moment he summoned the light, and a figure emerged from the shadow. Then, a black hand pierced through his chest and ripped his beating heart out.

Lozento was horrified. His nine arms flailed in an attempt to grab the figure, but the moment his heart was captured, his movements stalled to a complete halt.

Devils specialized in evoking desires. As long as one’s heart carried desires, they would be vulnerable to devils. Lozento desired to avenge his son by defeating the Celestials, and his wish was enough for a devil to infiltrate his heart. Pimosh’s attack had created an opening for the devil to strike. No one would have expected the Asura War God to be defeated in a single move.

Zu An, who had been watching the situation, wanted to leap in to rescue Lozento. Their conversation had given him a grasp of Lozento’s thoughts and character, and he thought Lozento could be a potential ally. Naturally, he couldn’t let the other party die just like that. But the moment he moved, his body suddenly shuddered. He stared at Tushan Yu in disbelief.

Tushan Yu revealed an eerie smile. “What are you planning to do, big brother Zu?”

“You aren’t Tushan Yu!” Zu An exclaimed. Tushan Yu wouldn’t have done this. Could someone else have taken her place back when Pimosh summoned her?

Pimosh looked over and grinned victoriously. “You aren’t as dumb as I thought.”
