Chapter 36: Chapter 10: Descent of the Bloody Sun (Part 2)_1

The Blood Sun and Blood Rain lasted for a full day before it gradually dissipated, everything returned to normal. Ah Dai was downcast all day long, without any mood to practice magic. He didn’t know why, but his heart was beating extraordinarily fast, as if something had happened. The Blood Sun and Blood Rain vanished, Owen finally regained consciousness from his meditation, having struggled against the Evil Power for an entire day, he was extraordinarily wearied.

"Uncle, have you finished meditating?" Ah Dai asked, looking at Owen who had emerged from the room with a somewhat pale face.

Owen nodded his head, still somewhat in trepidation, he said, "Such a powerful evil aura! It seems, those rumored disasters are indeed real!"

Ah Dai didn’t quite understand what Owen was saying, he said, "Uncle Xi Er came by today, I told him you were unwell and resting. Uncle Xi Er said that all the fishermen did not go out to sea today. He wanted to ask if you knew what happened."

Owen said, "Alright, let’s eat something first. After eating, you stay home and meditate, I will go visit Uncle Xi Er’s house."

Ah Dai obediently nodded his head and said, "Okay, let’s eat." After the two of them casually ate something, Owen went out, while Ah Dai stayed home and entered into his meditation state.

This sudden meteorological abnormality sent the entire continent into panic. Some were happy, some were sorrowful but no one could explain what had caused this sudden Blood Sun. This abnormality lasted for several months before it finally settled. The four nations of the continent continually implemented calming policies to pacify the people’s hearts. Only, the Holy Church didn’t give any explanations about this event. In a matter of time, voices of dissatisfaction against the Church started to emerge. After a whole year of unrest caused by the Blood Sun and Blood Rain, its impact finally disappeared completely, but an eerie atmosphere enveloped the continent.

In May of year 990 according to the Holy Calendar, Ah Dai had already been in Stone Pond Town for a year and two months.

"Brother Ah Dai, you’ve grown a lot taller since you first came."

Thirteen-year-old Ah Dai looked at Xi Fei who was two years younger than him and smiled, "Really? I’ve been eating more lately and it does seem like I’ve grown a lot taller." The thirteen-year-old Ah Dai was already around 1.6 meters tall, considered tall among his peers. Over the past year, apart from having Ah Dai practicing the Revolving Life Technique, Owen did not teach him any other skills. Ah Dai had already mastered the Federation language. Since the dialect among the six major races of the Federation was simply a matter of accent, Owen taught him Western Federation language. Ah Dai was extremely diligent in his practice. After tireless efforts, he could now circulate for twenty-seven cycles in one night. Ah Dai’s Revolving Life Technique had reached the second realm. Ah Dai once asked Owen when he could leave but Owen did not give a direct answer, only telling him that there was still much he needed to learn. Now, Owen had started teaching Ah Dai the common language of the continent, an essential course of study for Ah Dai. After finishing his language lesson that day, Ah Dai was playing by the seaside with Xi Er’s granddaughter and two grandsons. Due to more than a year of practicing the Revolving Life Technique, Ah Dai’s physique was much stronger than when he left the City of Nino. Although he couldn’t be described as handsome, his honest and straightforward nature made him very likable to the villagers.

"Brother Ah Dai, let’s go swimming in the sea." Xi Er’s eldest grandson, eight-year-old Si Feng suggested. It was May, and completely fine for these children who lived by the sea all year round to start swimming. Normally, they should call Ah Dai "Uncle," but since their ages were not that far apart, they called him "Brother Ah Dai" when there were no adults around.

Ah Dai was not a strong swimmer. He had only swum a few times under the guidance of Xi Fei’s father. Hesitating for a moment, he lowered his head and said, "You two go ahead, I’m not great at swimming." 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖

XI Er’s youngest son, four-year-old Si Ley shouted eagerly, "I want to go, I want to go too!"

XI Fei said, "No way, you’re too young. You better go home, swimming is a game for us bigger kids, not for you."

Suddenly, Si Ley’s eyes turned red, and he reached out with his chubby little hand to cling on to his sister’s dress hem, "Sister, sister, take me with you. Si Ley will be very good."

Ah Dai squatted down, hugged Si Ley into his arms, and said soothingly, "Si Ley, be good. The sea is too dangerous, and since you’re too young for swimming, how about we play with sand on the beach."

Si Ley looked at Ah Dai and nodded, "Okay, but Brother Ah Dai, you need to build me a big castle."

Ah Dai nodded and said to Xi Fei, "Fei’er little sister, you and Si Feng go ahead, I’ll stay here with Si Ley. However, don’t swim too far out, it’s very dangerous in the water."

XI Fei and her brother Si Feng took off their outer clothes, agreed, and ran into the sea shouting. They had learned to swim under their father’s guidance when they were very young, so the calm sea didn’t pose any danger to them. Soon, they disappeared from sight. Ah Dai and Si Ley began playing with sand on the beach. Ah Dai was very patient and played happily with the four-year-old Si Ley.

Suddenly, a cloud drifted into the previously clear sky. The sea breeze blew stronger, the calm sea began to erupt with ripples, and waves began to form.

Ah Dai stood up and looked at the sea in the distance, but couldn’t see Xi Fei and Si Feng. He muttered, "Why aren’t they back yet? With such big waves, it could be dangerous."
