King of the Wilderness
Chapter 341 - 215: Turning Point of the Incident (2)
Mark paused, his tone changing once again, now mixed with excitement and calmness: "Lin, I’m speaking to you now as the executive producer of ’Wilderness Solo Living: Frozen Throne.’ Do you know what this means? It means we’ve hit the jackpot!"
"The Discovery Channel executives went completely crazy after hearing my report! They believe that this ’Polar Bear Rescue Incident’ is the biggest, most positively valuable ’highlight’ since the launch of our project!"
"This has transcended a mere survival challenge, becoming a global event filled with the brilliance of humanity, international cooperation, and top-level scientific elements."
"Our PR team is fully mobilized! They are portraying you as a ’lone hero who chose life over rules.’"
"And the involvement of Dr. MacKeez has given this story the most perfect and scientifically rigorous follow-up. An, do you understand? You’re no longer just a contestant; you’re becoming a trigger for a highlight!"
Mark’s speech sped up, unable to hide his excitement as a top producer: "The executives have already decided to create an independent documentary special around this event!"
"Every moment of the next ten days you spend living with the polar bear cub will be the core material for this documentary!"
"The value of this film’s rights might exceed the entire competition’s prize! Our ratings could make history and even compete for an Emmy!"
Mark’s tone returned to calmness: "So, Lin. From now on, your challenge has a second layer of meaning. You not only have to survive for yourself but also strive for the perfect ending to this story."
"Discovery Channel will utilize all resources to ensure that this event develops in the most favorable direction for us in terms of public opinion and legal matters. And you just need to do what you do best—survive and take good care of that bear."
"The principle of minimal contact, having the little polar bear interact with only you, is currently the best plan agreed upon by everyone."
"Lin, congratulations. In the next ten days, you are not only a Challenger, but also the protagonist of a great documentary, carrying on survival with this little fellow in the wild!"
Lin Yu’an was not overwhelmed by the grand vision that Mark painted, interrupting Mark’s excitement to raise the most practical issue.
"Mark, don’t open the champagne just yet. Whether it’s the documentary or the Emmy, there’s one premise—the bear has to stay alive."
There was a pause on Mark’s end of the line: "Of course, that’s without a doubt, unless that bear is already..."
Lin Yu’an’s tone was extremely serious: "Not yet, but soon. Food, I can’t keep using fish oil as substitute milk. My resources are limited, and the nutrition is absolutely not balanced enough."
"It’s growing rapidly, and in a few days, this small amount of stuff won’t satisfy its appetite. Most critically, my own food reserves have also been consumed more quickly because I have to take care of it."
"I understand, Lin." Mark immediately put away his previous excitement, reverting to a meticulous attitude.
"You highlighted the most critical point; I’m sorry, Lin, I was so excited just now that I forgot to tell you. Don’t worry; a solution is already in place." 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖
"Tomorrow, we expect to dispatch helicopters to deliver a batch of supplies to you, ’research materials’ specially approved for this rescue operation through official channels, so they’re completely legal."
Mark specifically emphasized the legality of these supplies, then explained in detail.
"The airdrop box primarily contains food and professional equipment prepared for the little guy. This includes several cans of institutionally customized, high-fat-content cub formula milk powder sufficient to last until Dr. MacKeez’s team arrives."
"There’s also a matching nursing bottle, cleaning tools, various essential vitamin supplements, more professional filming equipment, and a sufficient supply of batteries, which I believe you will be able to handle effectively."
Mark added, "Additionally, there’s a professional medical monitoring kit with a non-contact infrared thermometer that allows you to monitor its temperature anytime to prevent overheating or hypothermia."
"There are also some basic medical supplies. Don’t worry; a very detailed manual is prepared on how to use everything, how to mix the milk formula, daily feeding amounts, and precautions. You just need to follow it."
After discussing some more details, the two of them hung up the phone.
Lin Yu’an stood dazed for a long time, still processing the overwhelming amount of information from the phone call.
He looked down at the little bear that had just been playing with dried fish, which seemed to feel the change in his mood and had already nestled by his feet, gently rubbing its small head against his pant leg, making a soothing "hmm hmm" sound from its throat.
Lin Yu’an slowly squatted down, picking up this furry little guy, with his forehead touching its equally furry head.
He transformed from a "lawbreaker" facing imminent legal penalties to a state-authorized "sole designated caretaker."
This shift in identity allowed him to openly and rightfully devote all his energy to this little life before him. His challenge turned from a lonely wilderness survival into a responsibility-laden wild bear nurturing.
And he himself was no longer just a contestant, but possibly the protagonist of a great documentary.
