Chapter 199: Chapter 198: Skiing

Under the watchful eyes of everyone present, Feng Mountain polished off five extra-large "Boss’s Special" meals.

Guo Hongying was in absolute awe.

His admiration for Feng Mountain was like a surging river, endless and unstoppable, like the Yellow River bursting its banks.

BUUURP!!

Feng Mountain let out a satisfying burp, patted his stomach, and stood up to stretch.

The town residents and female staff dining in the restaurant all gave him a thumbs-up.

’Looks like what happened last night was true.’

’One man, five meals. What a body!’

"Young Master Guo, want to take a walk over to the Mammoth Pit?" Feng Mountain couldn’t be bothered to explain last night’s misunderstanding. It wasn’t like anyone would believe him anyway.

’Just rumors.’

’They always fade with time.’

’Like a howling gust of wind across the tundra. It blows over, and then all is calm again.’

"Oh, right!"

Guo Hongying quickly stood up, placed some cash and a tip on the table, and followed Feng Mountain out of the restaurant.

However, Feng Mountain had underestimated the situation. The moment he left, the restaurant erupted in a flurry of excited gossip, with some people even inventing their own sensational versions of the story.

The group strolled along the camp’s gravel path to walk off the meal.

They saw a group of workers digging a foundation. The construction crew wasn’t one Feng Mountain recognized, and he was sure they hadn’t been there yesterday. Clearly, work on this site had just begun.

Feng Mountain walked over curiously. "Who authorized you to build here?"

The workers stopped what they were doing. A heavyset foreigner in a hard hat stepped forward. "We’re the construction crew for the Chinatown restaurant."

’Chinatown?’

’What Chinatown? Why don’t I know anything about it?’

Just as Feng Mountain was looking completely baffled, a familiar voice called out.

"Hey, hey! Why’d you stop working? I’m paying you for this! If you can’t finish on time, you’ll have to pay a penalty."

Su Ziweng appeared with a cheeky look on his face. The moment he saw Feng Mountain, he broke into a wide grin.

"Brother Feng! I just got in this morning and was about to come find you. Pretty quick, huh?"

"What are you doing opening a shop in Crown Territory?" Feng Mountain still looked completely lost.

"You’re the one who agreed to let me open a restaurant in Crown Territory. I know the rules—40% of the net income as a land use fee. David was the one who approved this plot." Su Ziweng gave him a chummy wink.

’Forty percent of net income.’ 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖

’That’s not a low fee.’

A happy smile immediately spread across Feng Mountain’s face. "Come on, we’re brothers. But you know... I’ll have the old lady draw up a contract later. Even blood brothers need to keep their finances straight, right?"

Su Ziweng gave a sheepish smile and nodded along, grumbling to himself.

’If I hadn’t done a background check on you, I might have actually believed you were an easygoing guy.’

’One dead and four critically injured back in Hai City.’

’And he walked away without a scratch.’

Feng Mountain turned to the idle construction site and urged the workers, "What are you all standing around for? Get back to work! The tour groups will be arriving in a few days."

After saying that, he turned to Su Ziweng.

"Where’s Sun Jia? Didn’t he say he wanted to open a shooting range? Why isn’t he here with you?"

"Sun had some family business to take care of, so he had me come on ahead," Su Ziweng replied quickly.

Feng Mountain nodded. "Alright, you get to it. I’m going to look around."

"Hey, wait up! I’ll go with you. I don’t know the first thing about what’s happening on-site anyway." Su Ziweng hurried to catch up.

Their party of three now became a party of four.

The four idlers wandered aimlessly around the camp until they’d run out of places to go. Not wanting to return to his cabin, Feng Mountain turned to Young Master Guo and Su Ziweng.

"Do either of you two have experience with mountaineering? I’m talking about snow mountains."

Young Master Guo and Su Ziweng glanced at each other and both raised their hands.

"I’ve climbed Haba Snow Mountain, as well as the Main and Second Peaks of Four Sisters Mountain."

"I’ve climbed Leduomanyin Snow Mountain and Wuku Chu Snow Mountain."

’Heh!’

’Caught myself two ready-made free laborers.’

Feng Mountain couldn’t help but chuckle. He pointed toward the snow-capped mountains encircling the river flats. "I’m planning to design a ski run. Since you two have experience, take a look and see if any spots are suitable."

’A ski run?’

’You were just talking about mountaineering, how did it suddenly become about a ski run?’

’The two things are completely unrelated.’

The two "free laborers" glanced at each other again. Su Ziweng blinked, quickly trying to back out of it. "Brother Feng, I always had a guide with me on those climbs. I don’t really have any practical experience. You should ask Young Master Guo about this stuff. He’s the one who’s climbed the real behemoths."

As expected, Young Master Guo stepped forward.

"Building a ski resort is a complex process. You have to consider the mountain’s structure, terrain, and weather, not to mention the dimensions of the ski run, its gradient, and the snowpack depth. It’s too much to explain on the spot; we’d need to do a proper site survey."

’When it comes to professional matters, you listen to the professionals.’

One of Feng Mountain’s virtues was that he knew how to take advice, so he nodded readily.

"Alright, then. We’ve got time right now. Why don’t we take the snowmobiles out for a spin and see if we can find a suitable spot?"

The other two immediately agreed.

As it stood, Crown Territory was more suited for a leisurely retirement than for young people.

It was a practical problem.

Young people needed more options for entertainment and activities, and the camp currently couldn’t meet that demand.

Skiing was an excellent option.

The four of them geared up, took two snowmobiles, and left the camp, speeding out toward the river flats beyond.

Once they left the camp, the temperature instantly plummeted to over thirty degrees below zero.

Feng Mountain rode with Nash, while Young Master Guo took Su Ziweng. They drove along the edge of the mountains, searching for a suitable location for a ski resort.

In truth, Feng Mountain had only ever seen a panoramic view of the river flats from atop Beheading Cliff. This was his first time actually setting foot in this unfamiliar territory.

A thick layer of snow covered the river flats, making it impossible to distinguish whether the ground underneath was the river channel or just barren land.

The towering, cloud-piercing mountains around them flashed past. The spectacular scenery was both awe-inspiring and a stark reminder of their harsh environment.

They had been driving for over half an hour.
