Chapter 245: Chapter 221: Mishap

The female employees were responsible for unloading the supplies. Wawa, who only handled transportation, hopped off his snowmobile and looked at Big Beard, who was standing frozen in place.

"Hey, what are you spacing out for? The restaurant is this way!"

Big Beard snapped out of his shock. The first thing he did was pull out his phone and start taking pictures of everything in sight.

After he finished, he followed Wawa into the restaurant.

A spacious hall, bright lights, clean tables and chairs.

Wawa found a table, pulled out a wooden chair and sat down, then shouted to the waitress.

"Linda, two Set A’s. The boss said to put it on his tab."

"Got it!" the waitress responded, before heading into the kitchen.

When she returned, she was carrying two plates. She placed them on the table, then took out a slip of paper and handed it to Wawa.

"Sign!"

The slip was a form with columns for the time, meal name, and signature.

This was a ledger sheet Feng Mountain had implemented after the restaurant officially opened. Anyone who ate here had to sign if they weren’t paying cash, and the cost would be deducted from their salary.

To others, this ledger sheet seemed a bit impersonal. It was just a meal; why make it so formal?

But Feng Mountain had lost a lot of money to freeloaders in the past. At a restaurant he’d owned before things went south, health and fire inspectors would often come by, write out an IOU, and eat for free.

In the end, he didn’t make any money, but he ended up with a pile of IOUs.

When he went to collect the money,

they’d either stall for time, or the person in question would have already been transferred.

The IOUs became worthless paper.

That was why Feng Mountain had established such a seemingly impersonal rule for the restaurant.

Wawa picked up the pen, signed his name on the ledger, and added a note: "Pilot’s breakfast, bill to Feng Mountain."

Meanwhile, Big Beard was staring at the breakfast in front of him.

A glass of milk, a piece of toast, half a tomato, a slice of bacon, and a fried egg.

This breakfast would be perfectly ordinary in a city, but this was the Far North Tundra.

Especially the tomato. Judging from its shine and freshness, it didn’t look like it had been in storage at all, but rather as if it had just been picked from the vine.

"Hurry and eat. I’ll take you back to the airstrip when you’re done." Wawa picked up his chopsticks and expertly plucked the fried egg from his plate.

Ever since Feng Mountain revealed he was from China, all the camp employees had taken it upon themselves to learn how to use chopsticks. By now, they could all easily pick up a chocolate bean with them.

"Buddy, is this really Crown Territory?" Big Beard didn’t know how to use chopsticks, so he picked up his fork, speared the bacon, and asked as he ate.

"Of course it is. Where else would it be?" Wawa replied nonchalantly. "You must’ve thought Crown Territory was still a wasteland, right? Come on, that’s all in the past."

Big Beard chuckled sheepishly.

He had heard of this place, Crown Territory, before. It was supposedly one of Tom’s clients, home to just a single old Asian man.

But looking at it now...

It seemed Tom had hit the jackpot.

’From the sounds of it, after paying my fee for this trip, Tom is still going to make a killing.’

And Tom himself was on his way back from Canada, apparently also hauling supplies for Crown Territory.

’Looking around the restaurant... half the things in here could only have been flown in.’

’This all costs a fortune!’

’Something worth one US Dollar becomes ten US Dollars by the time it gets to Crown Territory.’

No wonder Drunkard Tom had suddenly come into money and even bought a new plane.

"Sir, feel free to look around the camp. I’ll come get you once the supplies are unloaded." Having finished his breakfast in a few quick bites, Wawa stood up, called out to Big Beard, and left the restaurant.

A short while later, Big Beard also finished his breakfast.

He began to wander around the camp, marveling at the owner’s extravagance as he walked, creating such a veritable paradise here in the Far North Tundra.

This would have required not just manpower, but vast sums of money.

He then took out his phone, took pictures of the scenery along the way, and posted them to Facebook.

He followed the gravel path until he found himself at an intersection. In the distance, even more eye-catching than the restaurant and bar he’d seen earlier, was a luxurious wooden villa standing under a streetlight.

’Judging by the craftsmanship, this house definitely wasn’t built by any ordinary craftsman.’

’Every log had been carefully selected and shaped. The joints were seamless, showcasing an incredible level of skill.’

’A house like this wouldn’t be cheap. It must’ve cost at least seven figures.’

’What a bored, rich bastard.’

’With this kind of money, wouldn’t it be better to just buy a mansion in the city?’

Big Beard stewed for a moment in envious contempt. Just as he passed the intersection, he heard a low, rumbling growl.

From the darkness where the streetlight couldn’t reach, two sled dogs suddenly shot out, blocking the road and baring their sharp fangs at Big Beard.

Startled, Big Beard quickly stopped in his tracks. 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶

Hostility shone in the two sled dogs’ eyes, their stark white fangs looking especially frightening under the dim yellow light.

"Sorry, I took a wrong turn!"

Big Beard didn’t dare make a single rash move. He knew he must have gone the wrong way. Slowly, he raised his hands, trying to show the sled dogs he meant no harm.

GRRR!!

Two fluffy white creatures shot out from behind the sled dogs, also letting out growls, though their attempts sounded slightly comical.

Prince and Princess didn’t care if Big Beard had taken a wrong turn or not.

Their master had ordered them to keep all strangers away from the villa.

They’d finally run into an unlucky soul today, and they had to set an example for their pups—teach the two of them how to guard the house.

They immediately lowered their heads, arched their backs, and raised their hackles, baring their teeth in a fight-to-the-death stance.

GRRRRRR!!

Seeing that the two sled dogs remained relentless even though he was backing away, Big Beard slowly reached for his waist.

「Just then.」

"What are you doing over here?!" Wawa’s voice broke the tense atmosphere. He walked up to Big Beard and saw the two sled dogs blocking the road. "Prince, Princess, this is the delivery pilot."
