Legacy of the God of War
Chapter 349 - 19 Year Old Secret
Sun Weilong sat with his arms folded, listening irritably to the man before him. Yang Bojun said, "Come on, brother, we both know that your son is too young and inexperienced to run such a large conglomerate by himself."
Sun Weilong retorted, "Half-brother, you are nothing but a bastard child that our father didn’t want."
Yang Bojun feigned hurt, saying, "Ouch, that cuts deep. We are brothers, and this is a new age. We can’t rely on the ways of our forefathers."
Sun Weilong, growing impatient, asked, "Why are you here? I’m sure it’s not to insult my son to my face." 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ𝓋𝑒𝑙.𝑐𝘰𝑚
Yang Bojun smirked. "Yes, straight to the point. I like that." He cleared his throat and said, "I want your shares."
Sun Weilong scoffed. "What makes you think I will hand over my shares to you, a complete stranger?"
Yang Bojun chuckled coldly. "Your wife was a beautiful woman."
Sun Weilong, taken aback, asked, "What does my late wife have to do with any of this?"
Yang Bojun continued, "I’m sure your daughter is just as beautiful."
Sun Weilong frowned, his heart racing. Yang Bojun said, "Surprised, aren’t you? You thought you had that secret safely concealed, didn’t you?"
Sun Weilong, trying to maintain his composure, said, "I don’t have a daughter."
Yang Bojun laughed, a laugh so cold it sent shivers down Sun Weilong’s spine. "All Sun men seem to be the same, discarding their own like it’s nothing."
Sun Weilong, growing more agitated, asked, "How...?"
Yang Bojun explained, "The year your wife died, she was eight months pregnant with a daughter. You were devastated, having lost your sister to a kidnapping, and then your wife passed away, with the doctors only able to save the child she was carrying. Am I right?"
Sun Weilong, his voice laced with anger, warned, "Stay away from her."
Yang Bojun pressed on, "My question is, why did you hide her from the public eye, even from her own brothers?"
Sun Weilong, his jaw clenched, said, "That doesn’t concern you."
Yang Bojun pulled out a file and tossed it to Sun Weilong. "You might want to check that."
With trembling hands, Sun Weilong opened the file. Inside were recent pictures of his daughter, Sun Ming, her 19-year-old face bright with a smile. She looked exactly like his late wife.
Yang Bojun continued, "I know where you hid her, where she goes to college, her friends, the people she lives with. I know everything. Now tell me, half-brother, are you sure you’re not willing to hand over those shares to me?"
Sun Weilong, fuming with rage, said, "You are a monster."
Yang Bojun smirked. "I take after our father."
Sun Weilong, his voice trembling with anger, said, "If anything happens to her, I will kill you with my own bare hands."
Yang Bojun, unfazed, replied, "That’s where the problem lies. If anything happens to me, she will be dead within an hour. I have men surveilling her every move."
Sun Weilong, clenching his fists, shouted, "Get the hell out of my house!"
Yang Bojun chuckled as he stood up. "You know, when I started looking into you, I didn’t think I would find something so interesting - hiding a whole child. She didn’t even attend her own grandfather’s funeral or her cousins’ weddings."
Sun Weilong, at his breaking point, yelled, "Guards!"
Yang Bojun, heading towards the door, said, "I’m giving you three days to sign over those shares. Otherwise, you’ll be receiving her body in a bag." With that, he left, chuckling to himself.
Sun Weilong, overcome with rage, picked up a vase and threw it on the floor. For 19 years, he had kept Sun Ming’s existence a secret, and now, the bastard Yang Bojun had found her.
Sun Weilong had always felt responsible for Sun Lixia’s kidnapping, and his guilt only intensified when his mother died of heartache over the loss of her daughter. When he met his wife, she brought light back into his life, pulling him out of the darkness that had consumed him.
When his wife gave birth to their first child, Sun Gang, Sun Weilong had considered hiding him away, too, but his wife’s desire to be with her children made him reconsider. Even with the birth of their second son, Sun Fang, Sun Weilong’s fear that history might repeat itself never subsided.
When his wife, already frail in her later years, became pregnant for the third time, her health deteriorated rapidly, and she spent most of the pregnancy in the hospital. As her condition worsened, it became clear that she was dying, and the doctors forced them to make a choice.
Deep down, Sun Weilong wanted to choose his wife, but she had begged him to save their unborn child. She had always wanted a daughter, and with the Sun family’s history of having so few girls, and Sun Lixia’s kidnapping still unsolved, she believed that this child would be the daughter the family had longed for.
The doctors performed an emergency C-section, but Sun Weilong’s wife died on the operating table. As she had predicted, the child was a girl. With his wife no longer there to guide him, Sun Weilong decided it would be safer to hide Sun Ming away from any potential dangers, especially given her frail health.
He had confided in his father, Grandpa Sun, about Sun Ming’s existence, and they both agreed that it was best to keep the little girl hidden until they could uncover who had kidnapped Sun Lixia. Decades had passed, and there was still no sign of Sun Lixia.
Now, the danger he had tried to protect his daughter from had found her. Yang Bojun, the illegitimate son of Grandpa Sun, had discovered Sun Ming and was using her life as leverage to gain control of the family shares.
Sun Weilong was trapped, caught between his duty to protect his family’s legacy and his love for his daughter. Sun Ming meant everything to him, a living reminder of his beloved late wife. He couldn’t bear the thought of any harm coming to her.
With a heavy heart, Sun Weilong realized it was time to reveal his 19-year-old secret. He called his sister, Sun Lixia, and said, "Hey, sister."
Sun Lixia, surprised to hear from him, replied, "Brother, how are you? I last saw you at Li Xinjie’s wedding."
Sun Weilong, his voice urgent, said, "We need to meet. It’s an emergency."
Sun Lixia, sensing the gravity of the situation, said, "Come to my villa. We can talk there."
"I’ll be there in 30 minutes," Sun Weilong said. He then sent a text message to his sons, Sun Fang and Sun Gang, telling them to meet at Sun Lixia’s villa.
With a deep sigh, he instructed his housekeeper to have his driver prepare the car immediately. As he headed out, Sun Weilong knew that the revelations he was about to make would change his family’s lives forever, but he saw no other choice. He had to protect his daughter, no matter the cost.
Sun Weilong’s mind raced as he sat in the backseat of his car, the weight of the revelations and threats from Yang Bojun threatening to crush him. For 19 years, he had guarded the secret of Sun Ming’s existence with a fierce, unyielding resolve, determined to spare her the dark fate that had befallen her aunt, Sun Lixia.
But now, with Yang Bojun’s insidious machinations at play, the fortress of secrecy he had so painstakingly constructed was crumbling before his eyes. The bastard half-brother, a specter from the past, had found the chink in Sun Weilong’s armor and was exploiting it with ruthless precision.
As the car wound its way through the city streets, Sun Weilong’s thoughts turned to his beloved late wife, the woman whose final wish had been to bring Sun Ming into the world. He had honored that wish, but at what cost? The guilt and regret that had plagued him since Sun Lixia’s disappearance had only intensified with each passing year of Sun Ming’s concealed existence.
And now, the sins of the past had come back to haunt him, a reckoning long overdue. Yang Bojun’s ultimatum echoed in his mind, a ticking clock counting down to the moment when he would have to choose between his daughter’s life and the shares that represented his family’s legacy.
As the car pulled up to Sun Lixia’s villa, Sun Weilong steeled himself for the difficult conversation to come. He knew his sister would be shocked, perhaps even angry, at the revelation of Sun Ming’s existence. But he also knew that if anyone could understand the depths of his fear and the lengths he had gone to protect his child, it would be Sun Lixia.
With a deep breath, he exited the car and made his way to the front door, his heart heavy with the weight of the truths he was about to unveil. Sun Fang and Sun Gang would be arriving soon, and together, they would have to face the dark shadows of the past and the uncertain future that now loomed before them.
For in the twisted game Yang Bojun had initiated, the stakes could not be higher. Sun Ming’s life hung in the balance, a pawn in a ruthless gambit for power and control. And Sun Weilong knew that he would stop at nothing to keep her safe, even if it meant sacrificing everything he had worked so hard to build.
As the butler let him in, he silently prayed for the strength and wisdom to navigate the treacherous waters ahead. For in the coming days, the Sun family would be tested as never before, their bonds of blood and loyalty strained to the breaking point by the machinations of a vengeful half-brother with nothing to lose.
The door opened, and Sun Lixia stood before him, her eyes filled with concern and a silent question. Sun Weilong met her gaze, his own eyes haunted by the specters of the past and the looming threats of the present.
"We have much to discuss," he said, his voice heavy with the weight of the revelations to come. "And I fear that by the end of it, nothing will ever be the same again."
With those ominous words, he stepped into the villa, ready to confront the ghosts of his past and the demons of his present. For in the twisted web Yang Bojun had woven, there could be no escape, only a desperate fight for survival and the slim hope of a future free from the shadows of secrets long buried.
