Chapter 356: A Premonition of Danger

Since the return of Sun Ming, Sun Weilong had been spending his time at Sun Lixia’s villa to reconnect with his long-lost daughter. The reunion was bittersweet, filled with awkward silences and hesitant interactions. For Sun Ming, the family she had only seen in photos still felt like strangers, despite their warm welcome.

As days passed, Sun Ming found herself observing the family dynamics from a distance. She watched as Sun Weilong tried to bridge the gap of lost years with gentle smiles and tentative questions. Sun Lixia, ever the matriarch, bustled around ensuring everyone’s comfort while giving Sun Ming space to adjust.

Meanwhile, Li Chen remained at Chen Yunlong’s villa, immersed in his mental training. Each day for the past four days had presented a formidable challenge. The same scene replayed whenever he meditated – a looming darkness threatening to engulf everything he held dear. Yet, despite his efforts, he still couldn’t find a way to defeat this manifestation of evil.

As Li Chen grappled with his inner demons, a black van sped across the city, carrying precious cargo. Inside, Zhang Mei tried to maintain steady breathing, one hand protectively cradling her swollen belly. Beside her, Cen Yuhuan hummed nervously, her eyes darting around the confined space.

"Daddy will keep us safe," Zhang Mei muttered softly, as much to reassure herself as her unborn children. "I know he will. He always does."

Cen Yuhuan turned to her friend, fear evident in her eyes. "Where do you think they’re taking us?"

Zhang Mei shook her head slightly. "I don’t know. We should just stay calm and avoid provoking them. Our husbands will come for us."

"Where’s your phone?" Cen Yuhuan asked, a glimmer of hope in her voice.

"My bag dropped as they took us," Zhang Mei replied, her heart sinking.

"Shit, mine too," Cen Yuhuan cursed. "I guess we’re trapped here and can only hope they notice early that we’re kidnapped."

Zhang Mei nodded, forcing a smile. "They will. I know they will." Deep down, she was terrified, but she had to remain optimistic. The doctor had warned her to avoid stress during her pregnancy, and now more than ever, she needed to stay calm for the sake of her babies.

The van drove for what felt like hours before finally coming to a stop. Cen Yuhuan tried to peek outside, but the windows were too heavily tinted to see anything. The door opened abruptly, and two men roughly grabbed them.

One of the men, his face hidden behind a mask, growled menacingly, "If you dare make a sound, I’ll make sure you get buried with that child you’re carrying."

Zhang Mei felt a chill run down her spine at the man’s words. She took deep breaths, struggling to maintain her composure as they were led into a large, beautiful villa nestled alone in the mountains.

Their captors brought them to a room with one large bed and shoved them inside, locking the door behind them. The two women sat on the bed, taking in their surroundings.

"Our kidnapper is a loaded man," Cen Yuhuan remarked, her eyes scanning the lavish decor.

Zhang Mei nodded slowly. "Maybe it’s Yang Bojun."

"Yes, maybe. He’s certainly capable of it," Cen Yuhuan agreed. She stood up and walked to the window, peering out cautiously. "The place is guarded like a president’s house."

Zhang Mei sighed, her hand absently stroking her belly. "What do they want from us?"

Cen Yuhuan turned back to her friend, her expression grim. "I guess we have to wait and find out."

Meanwhile, at Chen Yunlong’s villa, Li Chen sat in deep meditation. Suddenly, his eyes snapped open, a look of concern etched on his face.

Chen Yunlong, who had been observing his pupil, leaned forward. "What’s wrong? Did you see something new?"

Li Chen shook his head, his brow furrowed. "I have a bad feeling, like something is wrong."

"Well, you are going to be facing a very big battle soon," Chen Yunlong replied, his tone measured.

"Not that..." Li Chen muttered, reaching for his phone. "Let me call home."

Chen Yunlong watched in confusion as Li Chen dialed Zhang Mei’s number repeatedly, each attempt going unanswered. Growing more agitated, Li Chen called Sun Lixia, who answered with a cheerful tone.

"Mom, is everything okay there?" Li Chen asked, his voice tense.

"Yes, yes, everything is fine," Sun Lixia replied, her smile evident in her voice. "Focus on your training. Sun Ming is back, by the way."

Li Chen nodded absently. "Where’s Zhang Mei? I’ve been trying to call her, but she’s not picking up."

Sun Lixia chuckled. "I see you miss your wife. She went baby shopping again, with Cen Yuhuan."

"Oh, okay," Li Chen replied, hanging up quickly. He immediately dialed Cen Yuhuan’s number, but again, there was no response. The uneasy feeling in his heart grew stronger.

In a last attempt, he called his twin brother, Li Xinjie, who answered promptly.

"Where are you?" Li Chen demanded, forgoing any pleasantries.

"No ’hello, twin brother, how are you doing’?" Li Xinjie joked, but his humor faded as he sensed the urgency in his brother’s voice.

"I’m being serious. Where are you?" Li Chen pressed.

"With Mom. What’s going on?" Li Xinjie’s tone turned serious.

"Cen Yuhuan?"

"She went out with your wife. Li Chen, what’s wrong?"

Li Chen took a deep breath, trying to calm his racing heart. "Can you please try to call them? I can’t get hold of them, and I have this strange feeling in my heart."

Li Xinjie’s voice grew concerned. "Okay, I’ll get back to you when I reach them."

As Li Chen ended the call, he turned to Chen Yunlong, who had been watching the exchange with growing worry.

"Something’s wrong," Li Chen said, his voice barely above a whisper. "I can feel it."

Chen Yunlong nodded gravely. "Your instincts have been sharpened by your training. If you feel something is amiss, we should take it seriously."

Li Chen stood up, his body tense with nervous energy. "I need to go back. I need to find Zhang Mei."

"Wait," Chen Yunlong cautioned, placing a hand on Li Chen’s shoulder. "Let’s not act rashly. Give your brother some time to check on them. In the meantime, let’s try to use your meditation to focus on this feeling. Perhaps you can glean more information about what’s troubling you."

Reluctantly, Li Chen nodded and resumed his meditation posture. As he closed his eyes and tried to clear his mind, images began to flash before him – Zhang Mei’s frightened face, a dark van speeding through the night, a lavish room with barred windows. The visions were fragmented and unclear, but they only intensified his sense of dread.

Back at Sun Lixia’s villa, Li Xinjie hung up the phone, his expression troubled. Sun Lixia noticed the change in his demeanor and approached him.

"What’s wrong, Xinjie?" she asked, concern evident in her voice.

Li Xinjie shook his head slightly. "Li Chen called. He’s worried about Zhang Mei and Cen Yuhuan. He can’t reach them."

Sun Lixia frowned. "That’s odd. They should have been back by now. Let me try calling them."

As Sun Lixia dialed Zhang Mei’s number, Sun Weilong and Sun Ming entered the room, curious about the sudden tension in the air.

"What’s going on?" Sun Weilong asked, noticing the worried expressions on Li Xinjie and Sun Lixia’s faces.

Li Xinjie quickly explained the situation. Sun Ming, still adjusting to her new family, watched the scene unfold with a mix of concern and detachment.

After several attempts, Sun Lixia lowered her phone, her face pale. "They’re not answering. Neither of them."

Li Xinjie’s jaw clenched. "Something’s wrong. We need to find them."

As the family began to mobilize, discussing possible locations and people to contact, Sun Ming found herself drawn into the worry and urgency of the moment. Despite her initial awkwardness, she felt a growing desire to help, to be part of this family that was now hers.

"I... I might be able to help," Sun Ming spoke up hesitantly. All eyes turned to her, a mix of surprise and hope on their faces.

"How?" Li Xinjie asked, his voice eager.

Sun Ming took a deep breath. "In Japan, I learned some... skills. Tracking, information gathering. If you can get me access to the right resources, I might be able to trace their movements."

For a moment, the room was silent as they processed her offer. Then, Sun Weilong stepped forward, placing a gentle hand on his daughter’s shoulder.

"Thank you, Ming," he said softly, his eyes shining with pride and gratitude.

Li Xinjie nodded decisively. "Let’s do it. I’ll get you whatever you need."

As the family sprang into action, their worry tempered by a new sense of purpose, Li Xinjie quickly called his brother back.

"Li Chen," he said as soon as the call connected, "you were right. Something’s wrong. But we’re on it. Come back as soon as you can."

As night fell over Shanghai, two parallel quests began – Li Chen’s internal struggle to unlock the secrets of his premonition, and his family’s frantic search for the missing women. Unbeknownst to them all, in a secluded mountain villa, Zhang Mei and Cen Yuhuan huddled together, their captors just outside the door, and the true purpose of their abduction yet to be revealed.

The stage was set for a confrontation that would test the strength of the Sun family, the power of the Seven Fists Manual, and the bonds of love and loyalty that tied them all together. As the hours ticked by, the race to save Zhang Mei and Cen Yuhuan – and the unborn children whose lives hung in the balance – had only just begun.
