Chapter 22: 22:A Farmer That Can Grow Monsters

Reigns was still staring at the Splash Shooter when a faint glow flickered in front of his eyes.

A translucent screen appeared.

[Splash Shooter has been planted.]

[Produces 1 bud daily. Bud grows into a Splash Shooter in 1 day. Each plant can produce 3 buds until Tier advances.]

Reigns paused for a moment. His eyes widened slightly as he read the notification again, making sure he was not imagining things.

Then suddenly, his face broke into excitement and he laughed aloud.

"Ahahhaah!"

"What a pleasant surprise.."

"I did it.. I did it..."

His voice rose without control as he shouted in excitement. The sudden noise spread across the nearby farms, and a ripple of disturbance followed.

From the other side, a rough voice shouted back at him.

"Buddy stop screaming as if you have grown a World Tree. You are a simple plant farmer not an aura farmer who slayed a beast, so stop screaming and disturbing us."

Reigns froze for a second, then scratched his head awkwardly.

"Uh.. Sorry!"

He gave a soft smile and squatted down near his land again, his attention returning to the soil.

He lightly touched the ploughed ground and muttered to himself.

"I wonder if my ploughing skill is the same as others. Will leveling it up decrease the time.."

He swallowed and glanced at his remaining lifespan. For a moment, temptation flickered in his eyes.

"Nah.. Let’s harvest some leeks and then try.."

He shook his head, pushing that thought aside.

Thinking this, he quickly planted two more Splash Shooters, leaving only the Level 3 one beside him as company.

He stood up and stretched his arms slightly, a grin forming on his face.

"It’s okay to be slow. Once I have a legion, I will just bulldoze my way hahahaah!"

He laughed again, this time louder and more sinister.

The farmer beside him slowly turned his head and looked at him with a fearful gaze.

"Damn! Why is this guy laughing so sinisterly!"

The man took a step back unconsciously.

"Did he read too many Wuxia novels about the Demon protagonist and wants to fertilize the land with bodies!"

Muttering this, he quietly decided to keep some distance away from Reigns. Who knew if one day this guy lost his mind and decided to use him as fertilizer.

....

A dense fog spread through the air, covering everything in a thick layer of white.

Low and deep growls echoed across the ground, cutting through the silence. The sound felt heavy and dangerous.

Soon, pairs of glowing eyes appeared within the fog. One after another, they lit up, filled with killing intent that made the surroundings feel suffocating.

The creatures stepped forward slowly, their bodies hidden but their presence overwhelming.

With a sudden growl, they moved, trying to rush forward. But before they could take even a few steps, a faint sizzling sound cut through the air.

CRING! CRIMH! CRING!

Sharp lines flashed through the fog, slicing across the space. The mist was torn apart as blood sprayed into the air.

A figure moved swiftly within the fog, her movements fast and heavy at the same time.

Anything in her path was cut apart.

Limbs were torn, bodies split, and blood shot out like a fountain, staining the fog red.

A brutal carnage unfolded. The monsters that had been growling moments ago were now falling one after another, letting out frantic shrieks filled with pain.

Within moments, the entire area was cleared.

"Disperse!"

A cold voice echoed.

The fog trembled and then split apart as if pushed away by an unseen force. It quickly faded, revealing the scene clearly.

At the center stood a woman.

She was standing atop a huge mutated dog-like creature that was nearly five times her size. Its body was massive, yet its head had been completely ripped apart.

Even in death, the creature looked terrifying.

But the way it lay beneath her feet, it looked as if it had been nothing more than prey.

Anyone looking at her would feel the same thought rising in their mind.

How?

How did such a beastly human exist at just Tier 1?

The woman looked around calmly. Blood dripped from her weapon. She wiped it off slowly and then tied her hair back.

After finishing, she suddenly slumped down on the ground.

It was not because she was tired. It was because of a restless heart.

She looked up at the sky, her eyes softening slightly as she swallowed.

"Darling!"

"I miss you!" 𝙧𝙚𝙚𝔀𝒆𝓫𝓷𝙤𝓿𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝙤𝓶

Her voice carried a quiet longing.

She missed him deeply, yet she felt helpless.

The beginner zones were usually vast, and sometimes people could be placed at completely opposite ends of the world.

Because of that, finding someone was extremely difficult.

She picked up her weapon and was about to leave when she suddenly heard voices from far away.

Her ears twitched slightly.

She had a special sense that allowed her to hear people talking even from many meters away.

"Hey, did you hear those rumours about that farmer?"

"Farmer?"

"Yes, it’s a rumor that he can grow monster plants."

She froze for a moment, her eyes narrowing slightly as she listened carefully.

A small group of people stood near the edge of the farmland, talking in low voices while occasionally glancing around.

One of them leaned closer and spoke with curiosity.

"How do you know about it?"

The other man crossed his arms and replied confidently.

"I heard from the merchant caravan!"

Another person frowned slightly, clearly unsure.

"But is it amazing?"

The first man immediately nodded, his expression turning serious.

"Of course it’s amazing!"

He stepped forward a little as he continued.

"Plant monsters aren’t anything rare. There have been people taming them, but this is the first time someone managed to grow them."

"Huh?"

One of them scratched his head, looking doubtful.

"That sounds a bit dubious?"

Another man beside him nodded in agreement.

"Yeah.. It’s a decently rare case, but there should have been more, right?"

The first man shook his head slowly.

"That’s the crux. Till now, such a thing has never been heard about."

The group fell silent for a moment, each thinking about it.

Just as one of the boys opened his mouth to speak again, a sudden force brushed past them.

A figure dashed through, slamming into their group and forcing them to stumble back.

"Watch it!"

One of them shouted instinctively as they regained their balance. Their hands immediately went to their weapons.

They turned sharply, ready to react. But the moment they saw her, their movements froze.

A woman with purple hair stood there, her presence overwhelming.

Their eyes widened in shock.

"The Ace!" they roared together.

Nyxara Val Veydrin.

She wasn’t just famous in a single region. The entire world knew her name.

She was a celebrity, and far more than that.

The daughter of the Mystic Ice Queen and the Beast King.

And if that wasn’t enough, she was also the direct granddaughter of the God of Slaughter and Destroyer of Dimensions.

You would have to live under a rock to not know her.

Nyxara did not care about their reaction. She ignored their stunned expressions completely.

Her sharp eyes locked onto them as she stepped closer.

"That farmer you are talking about?"

Her voice was cold and steady.

"Where is he?"

The group hesitated, clearly intimidated by her presence.

"And tell me quickly, because I don’t have much patience."

As she spoke, she slowly raised her greatsword.

A chilling aura spread out instantly, and the temperature around them seemed to drop.

The group felt a deep cold run through their bodies, their throats going dry.
