Nyx casually waved her finger and the quicksand instantly froze solid.

Reigns followed Nyx as they walked over the frozen quick sand and finally got out of it.

After climbing out, they started walking through the burning desert. Out of all places, Reigns found this one extremely unpleasant and uncomfortable.

The loose shifting sand made every step exhausting while the dry heat burned against his skin mercilessly.

It was literally hell.

They needed to get out of this damned place as soon as possible.As if hearing his thoughts, the ground suddenly started shifting violently.

Nyx instantly grabbed Reigns with a solemn expression and dragged him backward.

A huge set of chitinous teeth burst out from the place where they had been standing just moments ago. Following it, a massive worm-like body shot out from beneath the sand.It had a huge mouth filled with enormous jagged teeth burst out from beneath the sand.

The creature was extremely long and its body twisted violently while sand flew everywhere.

Reigns cursed and waved his hand sharply.

The attacks were not strong enough to kill the sandworms instantly but the combined assault was terrifying to witness.

The sweet and blissful look on Nyx’s face suddenly disappeared.

The next moment, she took a step forward and stomped onto the ground. Her feet sank slightly into the sand.

A chilling breeze erupted from her body and spread across the desert rapidly. The entire ground started freezing layer after layer before loud cracks spread everywhere.

And within those cracks, Reigns noticed the dried frozen husks of hidden sandworms.He looked at the frozen worms and then looked back at his girlfriend.

He gave her a thumbs up.

The remaining sandworms stood no chance against the relentless assault.

Nyx folded her arms proudly while lifting her chin slightly.

"Hmph. Those worms should feel honored that I personally dealt with them."

Reigns looked at the destroyed battlefield and then at Nyx.

He honestly felt bad for the monsters.

Warm sunlight fell gently across their bodies.

Reigns slowly opened his eyes and instantly froze.

Before them stretched a beautiful sunny beach. Endless blue water sparkled under the golden sunlight while soft waves rolled calmly toward the shore. Palm trees swayed lightly with the refreshing breeze and the white sand looked clean and peaceful.

A few moments later, he started enjoying himself too.

The two played in the water for hours. Sometimes Nyx splashed water at him while sometimes she dragged him deeper into the sea. Reigns occasionally retaliated and the beach soon filled with their voices.

Time slowly passed.

The golden sun gradually moved lower and lower until the sky turned orange.

Nyx still wanted to continue playing but Reigns was already feeling tired after everything they had gone through.

"I am done..." Reigns groaned while walking out of the water.

Nyx puffed her cheeks unhappily.

"So weak, darling."

"You dragged me around for hours."

"Excuses."

Reigns shook his head helplessly and moved toward the beach.

Soon they set up a small camp near the shore. Reigns caught a few fish while Nyx helped prepare the fire. The smell of grilled fish slowly spread through the peaceful beach as flames crackled softly in the night.

By the time they finished eating, darkness had already covered the sky.

Cool refreshing wind blew across the beach while a warm moon shined peacefully above the sea. The waves moved calmly under the moonlight and the entire place felt strangely quiet.

Nyx wanted to play again but Reigns refused it outright.

After some time, Nyx quietly walked out from the water again.

Her clothes and hair were slightly wet while tiny droplets of water slid down her skin. A faint smile appeared on her face as she imagined how Reigns would react after seeing her appearance.

His eyes were fixed on something while his face remained stiff and serious.

Reigns stiffened slightly before slowly turning toward her.

There was hesitation in his eyes as if he was debating whether he should say it or not.

After a rough deliberation, he finally spoke in a heavy voice.

"Nyx... It seems we are in very big trouble."
