Leveling Up Alongside My Plant Legion
Chapter 45: Forgotten
He hadn’t thought about this before, but now it started to send chills down his spine.
If his counting was correct, they had advanced from the first floor within an hour. They spent almost two days on the second floor.
The monsters were hard to find in the mist and were scattered everywhere. The second reason was him training around aimlessly and getting coached by Nyx.
The third floor had also been cleared easily, and now they were already on the next floor. So amidst all this, why the hell were they alone?
Where were the others?
Was it only them who managed to reach here?
Or was it possible that they had been transported to some other part of the floor?
That was very possible, but he noticed another thing that shocked him.
[You have entered the fourth floor of the dungeon.]
[Kill 10 monsters to advance.]
The description talked about killing monsters to advance, but where the hell was the exit option?
Crap...
There was no exit on the panel, which meant they could only advance and not retreat.
Killing the boss monster was the only way.
Reigns shared his findings with Nyx, who listened to everything calmly.
Yeah, she was way too calm while he was panicking.
"Darling, your assumption may be correct."
"Is this how dungeons operate?"
Nyx shook her head lightly and brushed a strand of hair behind her ear.
"Not that I know, but this might be different. Every zone is different, so shall the dungeons within it."
"That means the only way is up."
"It might be," Nyx added softly.
Reigns sighed and grabbed his head.
’Something is wrong.’
’This isn’t how the game portrayed the dungeon. If Nyx wasn’t here, what would be my chances of getting screwed?’
One hundred percent.
He was sure of it.
Reigns got up and slapped his cheeks lightly.
"I don’t know why this entire situation is giving me creeps. All those plans to go through the dungeon slowly. Let’s scratch that. I want to get out of this place first."
Nyx didn’t deny it. She was fine with whatever Reigns wanted.
"No problem, darling, but you need to kill the monsters, and this time they are in water, which might be troublesome. So I think I will go and collect them."
"No need to bother. I can finish them."
Saying this, Reigns grabbed his scythe and ran ahead before jumping deep into the sea.
However, a few moments later...
"ARGHHHHHH!"
"NYXXXXXX!"
"SAVEEEE MEEE!"
BOOM!
His voice hadn’t even faded when Nyx shot out like an arrow, leaving behind a streak of bluish light. She found Reigns flapping around wildly in the water.
She grabbed him immediately and threw him out of the sea.
Reigns’ body flew through the air and slammed onto the ground heavily. Nyx appeared beside him and pressed against his chest, making him spit out all the water he had swallowed.
"Darling... Are you alright?"
"Y-Yeah... I am fine..."
’Shit... Screw you, Reigns...’
Inwardly, he cursed with all his might.
Reigns in his original world had never attended swimming classes, but he thought the Reigns of this world might know swimming.
But this bitch was as useless as always.
He couldn’t swim, and to make it worse, his Splash Shooter didn’t work underwater.
He had assumed it might work. Whatever principles of physics they knew shouldn’t have applied to this magic world, but hell naw.
Newton and his bastard laws had struck again.
The orbs of energy shot out by Splash Shooter were slowed down heavily by the water pressure, and to make it worse, the monsters were Level 8.
After coughing out the remaining water from his lungs, Reigns slowly raised his head with a look of resignation.
"Nyx."
"Yes?"
"Teach me swimming."
Hearing this, a pleasant smile bloomed across Nyx’s face.
"Of course, darling."
*********
And that’s how a long torturous round of swimming began.
It wasn’t torture because he was in pain. Rather, getting manhandled by Nyx along with those alluring curves and her smooth glistening skin made it quite hard for him to focus.
’Gahahaha!’
’Too much... This is too much stimulation.’
There was no doubt that if he said he wanted to do something, Nyx would be the first one to spring upon him and devour him.
Only God knew the amount of effort he had to put into controlling his human needs and body.
After a whole day of torture, Reigns had evolved into a novice swimmer and started hunting monsters with his scythe.
Nyx would disappear for a few moments from time to time amidst all this. Whenever he asked, she would always reply that she had lost herself in the fun and had swum away to the other side while describing it as beautiful.
Reigns didn’t want to travel that far.
[You have gained 700 days of tradable lifespan.]
[You have leveled up.]
After the thirteenth kill, he had leveled up.
Sadly, his Plant Shooter proved useless in this terrain, but most of his other skills had already reached Level 7.
With dozens of fights behind him, Reigns was quite content fighting enemies within a similar rank.
"Nyx, are you ready?"
"Always!" she replied with an endearing smile.
"Hmm."
Now, what awaited them ahead might be the final floor and the boss monster.
With that, their figures disappeared.
The teleportation light faded.
Reigns blinked once and let his eyes adjust. Beside him, Nyxara exhaled slowly.
Neither of them spoke for a moment as they waited for the system notification, but it never came.
And for some reason, they both ignored it.
The ground beneath their feet was cracked earth, pale and dry, like the bed of a river that had been dead for centuries.
The cracks ran deep, and some were wide enough to swallow a fist. From within them came a faint breath of air that was neither warm nor cold.
"This place looks straight out of a horror plot."
Reigns decided to summon his troops.
"BLOOOO-WHAT!"
"Huh?"
"Bloo... blood... Nah..."
"Blooo... Blow?"
"Blow... Darling, do you want me to blow some hair?"
"Of course not." Reigns shook his head in indignation.
"I am saying the keyword for my summon."
"Keyword... Do you even use keywords?"
"Of course I did..." Reigns paused and knitted his brows together. "Perhaps."
