Chapter 8: 8:Zone Transfer

In the middle of the dense canopy, monsters were pinned down impaled to the ground with sharp spears. The massive bodies of monsters still twitched faintly as the heavy smell of blood spread across through the air.

All across the forest, as far as the eye could see, one could spot countless corpses scattered around.

Some were crushed, some were torn apart, and others barely recognizable as living creatures anymore.

Huge monsters capable of leveling mountains to dust had been brutally slammed into the ground.

If looked closely one could see notice that half of their bodies pulverized by bare fists. The left over of the body sank deep into the soil pummeled with a terrifying force.

And in the middle of the massacre, a man put down the phone and was about to sigh when a sweet voice resonated from behind him.

"What happened, Hughes?"

"Is he alright?"

Hughes paused for a moment, then slowly slipped the phone back into his pocket and turned towards his lovely wife. His expression softened though fatigue lingered in his eyes.

"Yes, Monica."

"He didn’t seem to be as saddened as we expected."

The moment those words left his mouth, Monica’s expression shifted. Her brows knitted together slightly as she looked at him.

"Are you an idiot?"

"Do you expect a grown-up kid to cry before his father?"

"..."

Hughes fell silent.

"It seems all this brute fighting has affected your brain," she snorted softly. Then, shifting her gaze.

She looked around at the dense forest. Her eyes calmly scanned the destruction as if it were nothing unusual.

"We have cleared the entire Zone that descended here. The space is pretty huge and fertile, and I think it’s a good place for him to practice his farming."

Hughes’ eyes widened as he looked at his wife, then back at the clearing while his mind struggled to process her words.

Farming.

His wife wanted to turn this entire zone into farmland.

He wondered if he heard her correctly. A strange disbelief settled in his chest because if those higher-ups from the Awakening Association heard this, they might actually start spitting blood on the spot.

Suddenly, Hughes felt a sense of déjà vu creeping up his spine. He slowly turned around, only to see a crimson aura beginning to flare up from Monica that caused the air around her grow heavier and oppressive.

"What?"

She looked at him and asked.

Her voice was calm but carried a dangerous edge.

"Do you have a problem with my idea?"

"Ah... I don’t have a problem, but those..." Hughes tried to speak, but his voice got caught in his throat as Monica’s aura flared up violently, pressing down on everything around them. A maddening and gruesome smile flashed over her face.

"You’re talking about the Awakening Association. They want to refuse me?"

"Me??"

Her eyes gleamed coldly as she stepped forward. As her feet touched the ground, cracks started to form that spread like spider webs.

"Then they have to ask my fist first."

"No..." Hughes shrieked in panic.

"I will talk to them and make sure they understand!" he blurted out quickly while praying inside his heart for things to smoothen over quietly otherwise, entire regions might truly be flattened if she decided to act.

.........

Meanwhile, back in town, the room was quiet and still. Only the faint hum of the fan spinning above filled the air.

Reign sat on the bed, leaning forward slightly as he supported his head with one hand, feeling a pounding headache drilling through his skull. His breathing was heavy as his mind struggled to keep up with everything happening at once.

In his other hand, he tightly clutched a picture of his family. He stared at it and subconsciously a sharp pain flared up in his chest.

Beside him stood a mirror, silently reflecting his current self.

He slowly lifted his gaze and looked into the mirror. His eyes narrowed slightly as he studied his reflection.

His face was the same as in his previous life except it was a bit more refined. His skin was smoother and his features sharper.

The difference between the two was like heaven and hell.

He looked more handsome

And so were his parents.

Everything about him was the same except for the world, its power structure and every other thing tied to it.

His parents were mostly away, so he didn’t know much about their power levels, but they don’t seem simple. He had searched for information about them, yet there was no mention of them anywhere.

Hughes Luther and Monica Luther.

"Their background must be strong...otherwise, they wouldn’t be able to keep their composure after learning that their son is involved with Princess of God Clan."

He let out a slow breath and leaned back slightly, his eyes still fixed on his reflection.

"So let’s rephrase things correctly."

"The Reign of this world, fed up with the nonsense, used something to exchange the soul with me. Since I am here now... does that mean he has taken over my body in the other world?"

"It sounds like some kind of parallel dimensional transfer shit... but more than that, how did he even do it?"

His brows furrowed as he tried to recall the memories that didn’t belong to him yet felt strangely familiar.

From the inherited memories, the Reigns of this world had been a pain in the ass.

He had strong parents, yet he himself was weak and pathetic. Even with a strong girlfriend, he lacked backbone which oddly enough, made everyone else jealous.

They believed Nyx would abandon him after he awakened such a lower class.

The class itself wasn’t the problem rather it was the talent cap. Tier 1 meant that once he reached level 25, that would be his limit.

Meanwhile, Nyxara had awakened a Tier 10 class which was the highest potential Tier that one could awaken till date.

That was the gist of it.Reign massaged his throbbing forehead.

So how did Reign of this world transfer his soul?

This entire setting was leaving a bitter aftertaste in his mouth.

The game-like introduction and all this made me feel as if someone using him?

In the midst of all this, the clock on the wall suddenly began ticking loudly breaking the heavy silence that had filled the room.

He looked up.It was sharp 11:59 PM.

A strange uneasiness settled in his chest.

Then, a white flash of light suddenly erupted in front of him, forcing him to squint his eyes. A mechanical voice followed, echoing through the room.
